Why do we like dragons? Discuession!
Posted 16 years agoWhy do furries (or the general public for that matter) like dragons? Is it because of the fact that it's a giant reptile? That it can have special abilities like breathing fire and flying? Is it because a dragon is an animal that has no basis in reality and therefor you can create the design of the animal? Is it because the people who like dragons used to like dinosaurs (or still do) as a kid and it just kinda carried over as a fantastical dinosaur? Do people like dragons rather than dinos because of the loose interpretation?
I don't know exactly what spurred this but I was thinking about it just now.
Id say I like dragons because of the fantasy aspect and because you can basically make up the rules of what the creature looks like and does as you go along. Nothing is set in stone as to what a dragon does or looks like. Therefor, freedom of a blank slate.
I'd love to hear thoughts.

HELP!!! I've got an ant infestation!
Posted 16 years agoI need a bit of help.
We haven't had a bug infestation at this house in a long time, even though we haven't had a professional exterminator come and spray in quite awhile. We have good habits about keeping food in one area, out of the way, and disposing of it ASAP. No food is in the bedrooms and my ferret and dog eat their food in one place and it's fairly contained in that place (and outside of my bedroom). The exception is the odd treat or two that I give to my ferret, Maddox, that he hides underneath furniture in my bedroom, though I've put a stop to that only allowing him treats if he eats them right in front of me.
However, we have an ant infestation and it's only in my room. We can't find a hole or crack along the floor that is letting them in, and there's no obvious crack or hole around the windows (though they're probably coming in from the windows rather than the floor). I'm not afraid of ants, but it's driving me crazy when I try to study on my bed and have to kill an ant every three seconds. One of the ants bit me on the shoulder earlier this morning as I was laying down. I continually have the "bugs crawling all over you" feeling.
I'm afraid of getting a professional exterminator to spray because of potentially hurting Maddox and Bug (my dog), but especially Maddox.
Does anyone have any home brew ways of getting rid of ants that won't hurt my ferret or my dog? My sister suggested dish soap on the ant path (we'd be putting it along the floor and around the window and it shouldn't hurt Maddox when it's dry). Any other suggestions?

Posted 17 years agoThough the economy thoroughly sucks right now and I could potentially lose all of my college savings that was invested in stocks, I DO however have two jobs right now so money isn't as much of a pressing issue as it was months ago. In addition to my two jobs, I'm also applying for my BFA this semester and am taking 15 hours of classwork, which keeps me busy.
In other words, I'm not really drawing porn anymore unless it's a request from a close friend. Sorry guys.
If anyone's interested, I might post my non-furry art here (which is what I've been doing lately) but I'm not sure if there's a cap on how much non-furry art you can post here (can anyone link me to info on that?)

wolfenashes, right? You want that picture of you and that broad you married while you were drunk and vacationing in Vegas but as your furry selves, right? Or in turn, you want a picture of you as a were creature tearing an ex-significant other to little bite sized bits?
Get a commission dedicating those or many other moments of drunken judgment with a drawing from wolfenashes!

Posted 17 years agoI'm 19 today! Not that it's that exciting. Nothing great comes out of a 19th birthday, but I'm of the opinion that 19 is a terrible terrible number because it's odd.

For $15 you can get an ink and colored pencil full body portrait of your character. Extra characters are $5 extra. Wings are $2 extra.

A note to all the white tiger furries

Do you realize that white tigers are actually just freaks of the animal kingdom? White tigers are NOT albinos (albinos have absolutely no stripes or hint of stripes), they're actually just inbred orange tigers. Some orange tigers have the recessive gene that would lead to white tigers, and when you inbreed two orange tigers with the recessive gene, you end up with lighter colored tigers. Sometimes the lighter colored tigers are pure white, other times they are a golden tiger. Ever since humans found white tigers, they've been inbreeding them even more to produce more "beautiful" white tigers for magic shows and novelty reasons. After so many generations of inbreeding...well...we all know what happens (just look at royal families throughout history).
So if you're a white tiger furry, what does that say about yourself? YA INBRED HICK!!
Seriously though, look it up. Genetics is crazy stuff to read on a lonely Saturday night.
and it's not like German shepherds are any better. How could anyone find AKC German shepherds http://www.best-dog-photos.com/imag.....rd-Anatomy.jpg beautiful?
