My computer is out of commission!

It's a really weird problem that would be really expensive to fix. But I have wonderful luck!

My brother bought a new computer recently and he is giving me his old one!

His old one is definitely better then mine but it didn't have a hard drive in it but that won't be too bad. But if the hard drive isn't the problem then what I can do is use mine and I won't even lose anything important!

So I'm just out a computer for like... 3 weeks then I'll be back in business!

recently i dealt with a situation that i think i should tell you guys about. so the protect guilty parties im going to name the artist jim

so i commissioned jim for a sequence of images quite a while ago. and for the most part i have been more then patient. though time and time again jim would tell me he is sorry or something happened or even that he isnt doing ok mentally. and all those reasons are fine reasons! artists can definitely get like that and i totally don't wanna stress someone out who im getting art from.

to help compensate for the delays he kept saying that he would make it worth my wait and he kept upgrading my commission

and unfortunately for him it kinda backfired. by piling on the stress of that and the original commission it started to put him in a kind of artist block and unfortunately to say i commissioned him over 2 years ago now...

its created this awful situation that really put me in a tough spot. i had a couple choices on my hands.

1. keep letting it go on like this

2. demand a refund

3. forget about the whole thing and let him not draw me and keep the money

now before we get to the nittie grittie there's some stuff you guys should know.

first is this commission cost me 50 USD which up in Canada is about 70-75 dollars
and second is that even after all that time i don't hate him. i don't want to drag him out and diminish him because that would be doing the community harm depriving him on the chance to come back after this long hiatus

so a bit ago we had a long talk and i gave him one last chance. if he could draw anything even a sketch of the first image in a months time then i would back off and let him work. if not then he would refund me my money.

unfortunately the month past and he has not worked on it. but unfortunately he has no way of refunding me for it...

it took everything i had to let him walk away from this commitment. but i did

i told him he didn't need to draw me anything and to sort himself out.

so from all this i have to say im pretty upset with this whole situation. i didn't wanna be the bad guy but unfortunately one thing people forget is when you take a commission you are entering a contract to do something for someone be it art or writing.

so my advice is this. there are always 2 sides to a coin in situations like these. if your a commissioner remember the artist could be going through some stuff or is having a hard time. give them the space and the positivity they need to succeed in what there doing, it can make all the difference!

and if your the one taking on the commission here's your advice. remember that professionalism goes a long way! if you don't think you can do there commission in a timely manner (my personal preference is about the month mark) let them know! and if you don't think you can do it for quite a while or something came up preventing you from drawing it then don't be afraid to discuss it with your commissioner. i wouldn't have had to be put in that spot or feel this way for so long if the artist simply said. "im sorry i cant do your commission right now, i have other people waiting so ill refund you now and let you know when my schedule is available again". being promised to be first on an artists commission list is pretty cool if you know they want your art.

so please everyone be good to each other out there. and try to respect both ends of the deals we make every day to keep this community alive

and with that i can completely move on form this ordeal knowing that i might have shared some valuable wisdom from all this

We had bed bugs and had to get rid of our furniture and we're moving because we're 99% sure it came from the building were in.

Right now we're staying at a friend's house which is helping but as it's going were going to be couchless for a while

I just had my landlord in my place to inspect something and I have bed bugs.

One of the only way to get rid of them is to literally get rid of my bed, my couch and all my cloths.

On top of all of that the fumigation can get pretty expensive.

so after Christmas hit me really hard. my work started cutting back hours so i couldn't pay off my Christmas debt in time before it started to escalate. its starting to get out of control so i need a way to fight back against this debt.

So recently I've been seeing alot of people becoming unhappy from alot of bad thoughts. I see these truly amazing artists holding themselves back from creating because of these same feelings. And I see myself procrastinating a project because I'm scared it will fail.

So something I wanna let not only all of you out there but also myself.

Everything you make is worth it!

It doesn't matter if it gets a billion likes or it makes you money if you liked creating it that's what matters!

Don't feel selfish for putting your own feelings first! Your entitled to happyness too!

Be kind to each other! In these times it can make a huge difference.

And don't be afraid of failure! Just be happy that you did something and followed through!

Your all worth it! And don't let anyone tell you different!

Remember there's always someone that loves you and that's more important then all those terrible thoughts and actions that pollute your life!

And remember there's a little otter that love all of you kind and amazing people that have touched my life!

So after a long time I'm going to do something I've always thought of doing! Though its going to take a while to get going I think it could be super fun!


With the help of a new friend I'm going to make a YouTube cooking show!

It's going to be for people who don't know how to cook almost at all!

I think cooking is super important and I get some people could be really intimidated by most of the cooking shows out there

So it's not really going to be like a show where I list recepies but more of instruction on fundamental skills in a kitchen.

Of course I'll throw in a bit of humor but I don't want to overshadow the skills I'll be showing to everyone

Alright so an update on myself!

So I'm working but culinary isn't going too well sadly. No possible way of making more then like 14 dollers an hour and no way of being able to get the things I want like a home and a car so I have surrendered to the fact that I need to take on some student loans and get some school in me!

I'll be looking at different courses but sadly I won't be able to do really science type stuff because I'm not to good at studying! I'm going to use some of my spare time to fiddle with some game making software and other stuff like that and see if I enjoy it

But over all I might try to find another job that's just a bit easier or something closer. I love cooking but a career in it is just something I don't wanna do.

Other then that I'm still moving forward in my own way and hopefully I'll find something I can do to pay the bills!
