Boring
Posted 11 years agoYeah, I'm mostly lurking on FA for the most part. With two kids, my job and my hobbies taking up most of my free time I'm rarely around.
So the update:
RJ is 1 year old in a week.
I have a full photography studio set up in our basement that I use my Nikon D4 to do portraits and some more....racy....photography. For outings I take my D3200 and a couple of my lenses from the D4 with me.
I am the manager of hosting services for a web hosting company now. Between the sales of 4 apps I created (which is how we paid for the house and my D4) it's mostly just used to give us spending money.
To all the haters out there: While you scorn us, look down on us and hate us...you're still living in your parents' basement or a homeless shelter or still giving blood just to get a meal instead of having a real job. We win, you lose. Shouldn't have believed all of the hype, eh?

My son has been born!
Posted 12 years agoRJ was born at 4:45PM and weighed 5lbs 15oz. He's doing just fine and he and mommy are resting comfortably. I have a son and daughter now that I love very much. This makes me very, very happy.
Happy new year!

Guinness Black Lager
Posted 13 years agoIt's not bad...but it's not as good as regular Guinness.

Mascot commission no longer needed.
Posted 13 years agoA wonderful artist on my watch list has done the mascot cartoon for my business. He will now grace business cards, the web site and the Facebook page.
Attention artists! Get your work featured commercially!
Posted 13 years agoMy computer/website business is launching a new apps division and I'm looking for a mascot of a leopard holding a smartphone. Must be full color and professional looking. No background. Send me a note for more details.

About time.
Posted 13 years agoFiled our suit in local court on a couple of matters that have been on my back. Since the U.S. claims to have ownership over any domain ending in .com in copyright matters, even if hosted overseas and that has been upheld in Federal court, I plan on asking the courts to seize the domains. This should be fun.
Considering a commission
Posted 13 years agoMy wife's and my 2 year wedding anniversary is next Tuesday and I'm thinking of getting a nice colored, 2 character, simple background commission done. Anyone interested or know a good artist that might be?
Time for the fun to begin!
Posted 13 years agoThey say revenge is best served cold. It's time.
Edit: Nah, I don't want my ideas out in public. I think it's more fun to watch this unfold in the shadows.

Posted 13 years agoRetained a law firm over in Hannover, Germany to handle the ongoing issues with previous journal over there and retained one here.
Personality rights, parenting and safety issues
Posted 13 years agoSo over on a wiki site I was featured in an article that is quite bothersome. It lists my personal details which, although factual, can cause a security and safety issue for my newborn daughter (she's 4 months old and 14 lbs now!) since it gives links to my address and such. It is also damaging since it comes up in Google searches (and I was told this did cost me a job by the owner before I got my current gig).
After contacting the site owner about removing it, I was basically told to pee up a rope. I have since sent Right of Publicity takedown notices to their host, Hetzner Online, which takes a strong stand against this kind of thing based off of US (Ohio and the owner's state both recognize it) and German laws (section 12 of the BGB (Germany's Civil Code)). Wikipedia is covered against these things since they cannot "control what their users do", however, this site has no protection since this was done by the site owner and not a user. He is also the owner of the domain according to a WHOIS/ARIN look-up.
I'm not proud of my history, but the "neutrality" of the article is at issue here. In it is posted nothing but negative things. There is no mention of my 17 years on the fire department, my 6 years as an EMT, my 4 years as an ARES responder. No mention of my volunteered time for domestic violence work before I got in trouble or volunteering at a NARHA certified riding center.
What ever happened to someone being able to rehabilitate? Is that dead in today's society? Apparently to them it is.
About all I can say is "lulz, furries".

This new job pays great and I am so glad to be a part of this project.

Not us so much as the little one Wolfie is holding. We have to pay to replace things. We won't do that because we have to take care of our daughter. The things that were stolen were just stuff, but that's the kind of people we were dealing with. We made mistakes but then they felt they had to be "better than the law" and take more of our things per this journal: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/2962450/
