In a couple of weeks, I'm going to have to decide whether to book flight tickets for FC.

I'll feel a lot better about doing so if I have the proper funds to sustain me through taking the time off work, as well as for things like airport parking and other eventualities, and also having some extra besides, as a cushion.
Right now, I am still paycheck to paycheck.
I'm wary of cutting things too fine. O.O;

Guys, I'm conceptualizing an article about an FBA Cares benefit involving some of the players performing as a band. I did this 2 years ago.
Now that Negroponte Rabit and JTigerclaw are retired, I'm trying to think of a couple of suitable guitarists.
I know which of my own players are musicians, but I don't wanna play Inside Baseball with my own characters. I wanna open up the floor.

Do any of you know if any of your characters are guitarists? If so, I'd be happy to incorporate them with your permission. ^^

Hi. :3 Just letting you all know that the next couple of weeks, my productivity will likely be slower than usual as commissions go.
I'm in the Dealer's Den at Furfright this year. That's 2 weeks from now. Accordingly, I will be working on some personal art to sell there in addition to juggling the commissions.

I'm contemplating the possibility of going.

A huge factor in my decision is a friend who lives near the hotel is offering to put me up.
This saves me a huge chunk of change.

However, what with flight and airport parking for 5-6 days, that's already costing me ~500 smackers or so.
I'm already thinking of stuff I can stop spending money on so I can put it towards, well, pocket money and such. And paying off my credit card enough so I can put more on it and not have my conscience bother me.~

So....

I could use some advice from those who have gone before as to how a person on a budget (as I am ^^;) can have fun at a con like this. BC the logistics are starting to make mah head spin.

But not just any ol' birfday. It's 8:24 pm as I type this. 24 minutes from now I will be 40. Oddly, feels like a non-event. I still think I'm 29. :P

Ok. Here's the situation.
For tracing, I normally use my lightbox. It's mah bread and butter. ^^
The thing is, it's not so good or tracing colored drawings I might want to do over, because it makes the drawing look mostly like a silhouette and it's hard to see the outer edge of whatever shape I'm tryin to trace.
Regular tracing paper would do a similar effect.

I'm looking for something more transparent.

Once in a while I've used plastic bags. I trace the shape with a sharpie onto the bag, then trace *that* onto drawing paper. But I keep thinking there's a better way.

Any artists out there know a good medium to trace onto that's also totally transparent? Sheets of plastic, maybe? I'm at a loss. :'

Sorry for the delay on commissions. I've had a paper route since 10/6/11 and that, coupled with my PT janitorial thang, is making my sleep schedule teh screwy. As such, my arting has slowed to a crawl. :' I do at least a bit of art most nights, it's just my ability to be produce is, temporarily, a fraction of what it could be.
A week before Xmas, I gave mah notice at the paper route depot, but I said I would stay on until they can find someone to take over my route, because I could use that much extra dough. I promise you all that when that's over and done with and I get back on a more seminormal schedule, I will shift the arting into overdrive. All of you who've commissioned me will get results.

So starting earlier this month, I got a paper route so as to solve some looming financial problems in the short term. So now I work about 2:30 to 6:30ish in the AM, then do mah janitor thang from 8-11am (except today, where I stayed til 2), and then I sleeeeep. :U
In fact, today I just woke up around 11 pm.
So my art output is going to be slower than I want it to be.
But, ConCommissioners, rest assured I do wanna make sure I have something to show for your money. I *will* get the commissions and badges done. All I ask is for some patience on your part.

I have an idea for anyone in my watcher group who's contributing to the FBA either as a GM or otherwise:

I have a character-developing creative thing in mind.

I envision a bunch of names-and-faces-style blurbs detailing what some of our FBA players were up to in the off-season. They could be a sentence or two, or a small paragraph. They all get submitted to  buckhopper and they get posted in one of his updates or some such.
I know I have a handful of ideas, but how about the rest of you? Anyone wanna write something?
Also, if you're all up for this, anyone wanna spread the idea to any FBA peepz who *aren't* among my watchers so they don't miss out?
