Now for the life of me I can't remember if I did this mini-rant before so if I have? I apologize for repeating myself. If I haven't? buckle-up buttercup, we're in for a fun one.
Whenever I see the occasional adopt I'm interested in I often look at the little auction that happens in the comments below, just to see how screwed my wallet is in terms of getting a piece of this action. The amount of people that fight for these things? down right asinine, to the point the price would be well over someone's rent and part of their grocery bill (exaggerating obviously, but you get the idea.)
Now when the auction ends and the adopt's creator goes "congratulations, lemme give you the adopt after you pay for it and I'll put your name up to show everyone that you bought this character." you go take a peek, just to see what they would do with said adopt. More often than not you don't see the adopt in their gallery, nor do you see it in their scraps. Hell, sometimes the buyer has a profile so blank it makes your skull before your morning coffee seem full in comparison.
Point is. If you're going to fight like hell for something then why don't you show it off? it'd be like going through the hell of buying an art piece from a museum only to chuck it in a storage locker so it won't see the light of day.
I'm not going to pretend I understand the mindset of others, hell I can't even understand my own mind half the time. Just if you're going through the trouble to flush your next grocery trip down the drain for the sake of 2D tiddeh or deek then atleast show it off a bit.

Not really a rant per se, just me trying to question why someone would shave their eyebrows off only to never draw them back on, figuratively speaking mind you.

Now....I've noticed this for a loooong time but whenever someone buys an adopt from a artist regardless how cheap or expensive it is they don't bother showing it off, not even in their scraps section. Stupid question but...why??? You clearly wanted that adopt, from what I've seen of some adopt auctions? you clearly fought like hell to make it yours and yours alone. So why not show it off a bit? That adopt is yours, you got it fair and square, hell the artist you bought it from even put your icon in the adopt's description as if saying "this guy bought it! check them out!!" to proudly show off who now owns their creative brain baby. I just find it a tiny bit irksome, especially when I go looking for a certain adopt, find out someone else already bought it then they don't even bother putting it in their gallery like they're suddenly ashamed of what they bought.

I did, yes, but on Furaffinity notes. To make a long story short (aside from the example I'll provide below.) You know what I "love" in the pitiful/sad sense? people that try to bullshit you on Discord, especially "artists" looking for a commission. Like, I get a fair number of these, random artists from Furaffinity, Bluesky, Deviantart etc that see me, love my characters that I get commissions/adopts of and offer to do some art for me. The conversation usually goes as follows.

Random Artist: *Adds me on Discord out of fucking nowhere.*
Me: Uh, hey? how are you?
RA: I'm well, how are you?
Me: Good.
RA: Oh btw? I'm a artist.
Me: Good for you.
RA: Can I commission something for you?
Me: No cash, sorry.
RA: Can I atleast show you **my** art and what style I do?
Me: Sure, knock yourself out chief.
RA: *Shows me four completely different pieces of art that's giving me major red flags.*
Me: *Nods contently while doing a background search on the pictures.*
RA: Well? what do you think?
Me: Not bad... for the record you're fully admitting this is you right? *pulls up profile of one of the pictures.*
RA: Err, what I meant to say was I can commission you anything you want in any style you want.
Me: Riiiiight....good to know. *Removes and blocks.*

Like, if you're going to try and bullshit me? atleast make your story believable.

Like I get it, art is your occupation and you want to make money off of it, I get that....but if it's your idea and not the idea of the commissioner? then why should they have to pay you for it?? just doesn't make sense. 2024 and I'm starting it by unearthing something old.....gotta love it. Now I get it with prices these days? yea rent, gas, groceries, bills, etc are pricey as hell, I get that. However if there's one tiiiiiiiiiiiny complaint I have that I know will trigger a few people it's this *ahem* why do you feel the need to advertise it? Now for the small small few that're 100% sincere about this I'm not aiming this at you, please don't think that at all.
But for the ones I see journal after journal about doing "emergency rent/bills/gas commissions/raffles" practically every second weekend? yea, this is aimed squarely at you. Now I'm not naming names since I definitely seen enough to do a shit-list about them alone but that heavily begs the question.
You have a job right? I presume a well-paying enough job to stay alive for this long. Sooooo....what happened there? what happened with your job that causes you to cry wolf on a frequent basis?? Now this is going back a good number of years but around I wanna say late 2021/early 2022-ish these were popping up like zits on a preteen, swarming every notification in your mailbox like bad spamware. I can bet you dollars to donuts that they splurged a good portion of that away on useless bullshit they don't need, not thinking things through enough to have atleast a savings account set up in their bank to cover rent and bills.
So that should tell you right then and there what they plan to do with their "emergency commission funds" when you pay them, especially those that're ballsy enough to take pictures of them and show them off. Again, I'm not hating on the small few that are sincere and direly need this, not at all...just on the ones that do it frequently enough to tell you EXACTLY what they're spending YOUR money on. Call me a hateful asshole if you must, hell I half expect it at this point. Just thought I tell you what a good few years of silently observing would tell you in this community.

Look...I'm not going to pretend that this won't offend anyone on here since I KNOW it'll trigger someone.
If I want to commission an artist for something then I will go to THEM, not the other way around. The reason I bring this up is every now and then I get these random messages in my notes that pretty much boil down to "hey, shit went south and I need money fast! can I do a commission for you??" When 1 I honestly never even heard of you before and 2 your prices are way too high for me to afford, let alone even humor a simple linework piece from your wares.
Now... I get it, I truly do, especially with the whole Ukraine issue going on currently.....but not everyone is rich enough to drop a fat stack like it's nothing. I have a small handful of artists I regularly get commissions from since I can afford their prices, hell I even splurge from time to time as a pick-me up whenever I have a bad day and go to someone that's a tiny scratch out of my price range but nothing too outlandish.
Now as I stated in the title I normally ignore these, especially if I get repeated ones from an artist I already spoke to prior about said notes....but if you're cheeky enough to put "Thanks for watching me<3<3!" in the note when I'm not even watching you to begin with? then I know it's a prescripted note you just copy and paste to random people, hoping to play the pity card to see if anyone will bite. Times are rough for everyone right now, especially with this Covid 19 bullshit STILL!!! going on so odds of a suspiciously wealthy person dropping super packs (you know who you fucking are...) on an artist is getting slimmer and slimmer as time marches on.

I'd say "hopefully this blows over soon" so things can go back to normal but let's face it...it fucking won't.

Yeaaa...I'm not good with titles. Anyways this is more of a "get off my chest" thing than anything but it kinda ties into something I eventually want to get once I can afford it. There's a relatively new-ish body out for men on Second Life called the Heracles by Invictus (shown here courtesy of King Ink Tattoos whom's also apart of the Invictus Team https://www.flickr.com/photos/14552.....in/dateposted/) And while I love the body to bits? it has two massive drawbacks.

Drawback 1: Since it's still fairly new there's practically fuck all for it in terms of clothing (aside for the TMD offerings Chuck Size puts out) so if you want some threads for it? you're stuck with whatever the Invictus store has for it (spoiler alert: practically nothing).
Drawback 2 and so far? the one that made me do this journal up: Thanks to its custom UV mapping and spite it being BOM out of the box? only skins/tats/markings designed exclusively for the Heracles UV map will work for it.
Now...I'm not going to sugarcoat it but having a body that isn't mod AND has a custom UV map to it? makes it kiiiinda impossible for furries/anthros to make use of it for their avies, borderline nightmarish actually since both the DevMuscle series and the Niramyth Aesthetic suffered from the same issue till their respected creators released developer kits to help with that.

Why I bring this up? well to get to the meat and potatoes of it I would like to use this body for my jackal on Second Life since I want to make it as unique and as detailed as possible while not clogging up the complexity levels so I can still use the damn thing to explore sims with. After fuddling about with a "base look" of how I picture it'll turn out that still leaves me with the issue of getting it modded.....kinda why I'm asking here. To the best of my knowledge furry/anthro modders use Furaffinity, Patreon and Twitter to advertise their wares/prices to hopefully? land a customer or two. Now obviously I'm not one of those suspiciously wealthy furries/anthros that can whip out a stack of hundos, slap it on some person's desk and say "here's some pocket change, go pay your bills" like it's nothing since I too still have some bills/rent to pay aswell as groceries (the joys of being an adult eh?) but if someone is interested in helping tackle this beast? hit me up in notes and either toss me your Discord or we could stick to the notes (Discord's easier in my opinion but meh) and we could talk shop and hopefully come to a conclusion that'll favor us both.

The body itself is beautifully detailed, especially so since the creator was going for that "pseudo-realism" feel like when you're first working out at a gym and your body slowly changes and while the price is pretty up there? (4,020 Lindens from last I remember...I could be mistaken so don't quote me on that) you get a whole lot with it....if you're only making a human avie. Granted there are still updates to come so eventually with enough patience (and enough people bitching up a full mile) a developers kit Will be sent out for this body so that content creators and furry/anthro modders can start making shit for it but I imagine that'll take a good while yet.

Yea as the title says this is pretty much a random journal to just clear the dust off. Anyways....I imagine if Furaffinity ever got a "like/dislike" function like YouTube this? would probably garter a crap ton of dislikes (with how easily triggered the snowflakes of today are *cough*TWITTER*cough*) but I figure I'd get it off my chest. Now....let me go on record and say I don't hate my mother but I do dislike how she can be at times, stating the obvious or redundantly explaining shit that has no meaning at all in the slightest just to aggravate me. Like for example just now she asked me to empty the compost bowl in the composter. To anyone with an IQ higher than saaaay....the sludge of a snail? that would be pretty cut and dry stuff to understand. My mom on the other hand? still finds it mandatory to explain the contents of said compost before I empty it.
Now, if it's in the compost bowl? then that's it, it gets no second chance at life, no redeeming qualities, no slight bit of hesitation, not even a burial at sea just "bowl? meet compost" but my mom? she sees it best to explain what is in said bowl before I toss it out....*sighs* That's pretty much it, like I said it's not really important.

Incase my recentish shout/comment wasn't an indication I'm currently writing about a rather unusual individual named , whom of which is a Trans Lesbian (or Transbian if you can't be bloody arsed to do the long version) that seemed relatively nice from what I gathered. Now, I'm not questioning the lovely lady's intellect, far from it infact but if you're so hairtriggered to block me before I can even get a word out? then yeaaaaa you sorta had this one coming.
Now then I'm not attacking her, ridiculing her, berating her etc in any fashion not by a long shot. I presume she may have figured out eons, nay centuries ago that the term "Futa" is actually not a slur or anything harmful (blame the copious amounts of porn for that one) but Futa is short for Futanari, which is Japanese for "two-half" in other words? Hermaphrodite (or Intersexed if you wish to be politically correct here).
Now, if she spent just as much energy in writing that magnum opus of literacy genius she left on my profile then clearly she could spend just as much to look at my gallery, of which has several Trans/Intersexed characters (mostly Pokemon but eh) and would know that being oh I dunno BISEXUAL I'm supportive of the LGBTQ and treat everyone equally.
My point is? normally it's wise to look before you leap, otherwise you'll end up skewering your foot on a spike below.
