Hey all!

So the past year and a half Ive been apprenticing to learn to tattoo! During that timeframe, I've worked barely enough to pay bills, so I could spend as much time learning as I could. I'm now graduated and I am working as a tattoo artist, since late October!

As slow season comes to an end, I expect to be plenty busy and will be able to finally get refunds handled. I'm really looking forward to being able to fix this! It's a huge weight that's been on my shoulders this whole time that I can't wait to be rid of. I've felt like I don't deserve to participate in this fandom because of my backlog, and I can do more without feeling unworthy once I have all my debts paid!

Anyway, this is mostly an announcement, and also a "please PM me if you have something I've owed you", at least for some things

HEY

So. Basically, with Covid and all the shit that happened last year, my mental health tanked big time. So progress stopped, and I haven't been up to snuff until very recently. That being said, Imma get back on this horse and keep going ;o;

As far as personal life updates go, I'm currently working on getting a tattooing apprenticeship! I turned 30 this year as well, so I guess I finally figured out what I want to do with my life haha. I'm currently the cake decorator at a Target near me, and that's going to be my last day job until I'm officially tattooing~! I am highly considering coming back to doing art full time once I get my apprenticeship though, so once I get my queue done that will be an option for me! And I know some of yall have wanted more art from me, so I hope to be able to get back to that one day!

And I'm still sorry for not keeping in contact. It's not my favorite trait, that's for sure. I just get depressed and I shut down, and have to focus what little emotional energy I have on holding a job, paying my bills, etc. But! I'm doing better than I've been for pretty much the last decade, so I'm really hoping I can keep things going and not shut down again haha.

Anyway, thank you all for putting up with me. I really am eternally grateful to all of you who have supported me over the years and enjoyed my work. Even if you haven't bought anything, favorites and all that really helped me get more views, which meant more commissions and put food on my plate. So I truly am grateful for every single one of the people who have followed me throughout the years. <3 Love yall!

General Updates
Happy 2020 everyone! It's time for a journal update!

As you can see, I have been chugging through my queue! I am SO close to being done with my owed iron artists, and then I have a couple of batches of chibis and a small handful of other projects. I'm happy to say that I don't feel burned out at all and I anticipate completing my queue by the end of February, hopefully sooner!

I had a small stagnation period in which I was adjusting to a new job back at the beginning of December, but now that I'm used to it I'm back on the ball of consistent completion. My work schedule is variable, however as a general rule if I have worked an 8 hour shift that day, I give myself the option of not drawing that night. If I've worked a shorter shift, I always draw! And on my days off from work, I also draw! So I'm making sure to balance myself so that I do get time to rest, while maximizing my time to be as productive as I possibly can. I basically end up drawing around 5 days a week on average! I am technically doing work every day, combining my day job and art, but I'm thoroughly enjoying art again. I feel more inspired than I have in years, and I've been making sure to do personal doodles here and there to make sure I'm taking care of my own creative drive as well. Commissions come first, but I do spend a couple of hours a week doing personal doodles or trades with friends. Definitely doing more commission work than personal though, and I plan to keep it that way until my queue is completed!

I have gone through my Trello queue and updated it to include the chibis as well! One thing I haven't done is the glass table cat recolors. The issue with those is that my computer died and I no longer have the file for it. I'm not completely sure what I want to do about that. I can either trace over the linework and redo it, or allow people the option of getting a chibi or something different from me. Once I get further through my queue I will be reaching out to those who purchased one from me to ask what each of you would like, and go from there!

Future Plans

I have some plans for after my queue is completed as well! I plan on opening up a Patreon so that I can share my own personal projects and gain a little bit of income from those who feel like they would like to support me. I will NOT be keeping all of my art behind a paywall, as I have always posted things publicly and don't plan on changing that. It helps with advertising imo, so I will still be posting commissions online like normal with no delay! However, I may not post completed versions of my personal projects, to give an incentive to view my patreon without taking away from my non-patron supporters.

I plan on offering a few things on Patreon:

- Daily personal doodles
- My Process Walkthroughs/Tutorials
- Reserving a portion of commission slots to patreons before opening to the public (public will still have plenty of chances tho!)
- For higher tier patrons, a monthly piece of art (undetermined value so far, but I'll be talking with friends with patreon experience!)
- Patreon exclusive YCHs

Now, I am asking for input! What kinds of things do you like to see as rewards on patreon? I'd love to hear your feedback, either as a customer or an artist! I've never tried crowdsourcing before, but it seems like a good idea for an artist like me who tends to get burnt out doing just commission work! So having a little financial incentive to do my own stuff would keep me healthier and able to keep going as an artist :]

Personal Progress!

My mental health is improving significantly! My depression has been less of an issue than it has in the past few years, and it feels really good to be able to say that with confidence. My job treats me well and pays me well for something that is easy and not stressful. My roommates and I have all worked out our differences and are turning over a new leaf of communication, cleanliness, and accountability. My partner and I are continuing to grow together, and both of us have made significant progress in our healing from past traumas. We've been much better about communication, avoiding lashing out, and taking care of ourselves so that we can be the best partner for each other we can be. I also am planning on going back to school this fall! Some of you may know, but I have a (basically useless lol) BA in Psychology. I originally wanted to pursue my doctorate degree to practice forensic psychology, and go into profiling. But after significant research and the realization that I'd have to do LOTS of clinical work, which I'm not the slightest bit interested in, I've decided to change my course. I'm going to be pursuing my second career choice! I'm going to be a mortician! I have an extensive knowledge of the grief process, and I have an artist nature. So I feel that knowing how important the funeral is for the grieving process, and my artistic skills, I would be able to help many many people with their grief by making sure their loved one is treated with respect and care during the body preparation and funeral processes. I'd make a damn good funeral director one day haha. I've also never been squeamish about dead stuff, so I know this is something I could do and feel fulfilled with! So yay, mortuary science degree, here I come!

Again, thank you for your eternal patience and kindness. I'm so lucky to have supporters who are as wonderful as all of you have been to me. I will continue to do my best to give everyone my best! It's nothing more than you deserve! <333

Hey guys! I'm going to be updating monthly via journal, or if something relevant happens before the next month happens!

So I've been through a little chunk of my iron artists, as I'm sure you all have noticed! It's about as much as I could handle with my fulltime job, but as of a week and a half or so from now I will be employed at a new place part time, with higher pay! So I'll be able to complete MUCH more work!

And with my new part time job, I'm hoping to knock out the rest of my queue on a 1-3 piece per day, 5 days a week, basis! So at that rate, I'm estimating to be completely done with my iron artist pieces in about 3 weeks!!!! After that I'll be finishing up chibis, and taking a look at anything else in my DMs I might have missed!

So that being said, please disregard my whole "I'm going to message everybody by Halloween" thing, I'm just going to go in chunks as I go instead! As I finish a chunk, I'll message another chunk, so on and so forth. So if you haven't received a note from me yet, don't panic! And more importantly, try not to note me just yet because I don't want to lose anything haha ;3; I'll post another journal when I'm ready for "Did I miss you?" notes!

Once I'm done with my queue, I anticipate being able to open for more pieces! I'm going to do things in a different style though, I'm not sure how I want to do that just yet but I'll be talking with artist friends to see how they handle getting overwhelmed! Likely holding off on payment until I've sent a sketch will be my best motivator, or only doing YCH type things to keep myself inspired with my own personal preferences. We shall see!

Thanks for sticking around everybody! I'm feeling a lot better than I have in the past few months, and I am happy that I've been able to knock off as many names from my queue as I have! I still have quite a bit to go, but I'm optimistic and pleased to be able to give such good news :] Luckily with my new job, my partner and I are still financially stable with me only working part time! And when the holidays are over, I'll be able to take new business again! Yay!

Hey guys, it's me! Back from the dead(?).

For those who aren't interested in my excuses/reasons, please skip the next paragraph but know that I haven't had an easy time of things and I really REALLY want to make things right by everyone I owe work to.

I've had a really rough past few years. For the first couple I was able to keep my head above water, but I sank pretty far down as of late, and it's taken me a lot to try and pick myself back up. My mental health has been poor in general, and I've bounced from job to job, house to house, and done my best just to keep living. One of the things that makes me feel horrible is my backlog. It's long, it's years overdue, and I've become an artist who lets her clients down. I basically have stopped drawing for the most part because I felt like if I'm not getting my work done, I don't deserve the joy that drawing brings me. I have reached a point in my life where I can't stand hating myself this much, and instead of ignoring the problem like I have over the past years, I'm going to do something about it, no matter how long it takes me to rectify things. Ignoring everyone's notes and comments and DMs hasn't done me any good, and the longer it goes on, it just gets worse and worse for me and for you all. I'm going to try to face the mess I've gotten myself into head on, and fix all the mistakes I've made.

That being said,
Over the next week or two I'm going to be contacting everyone I have in my art queue in chunks (I simply can't do it all in one day!). I will be saying one of two things, whether I will be just flat refunding you, or giving you the option to choose a refund or the art I owe you. My criteria for what I say will be simply this: is this a piece of art I can do and be proud of? or is this something that I will be likely to put off? I'm not going to lie, artists don't always like what they're having to draw. Whether it's the character, the subject matter, etc, it's sometimes just not up my alley. It's never meant to be personal, everyone has different preferences and tastes, and that's okay! However, I want to make it easier on myself to catch up, so that I can accomplish this daunting task. So if I tell you I will be refunding your piece, please look at it as this: I know that I won't be able to deliver you a product that I will be happy with, and I feel as if every single one of you deserve my best efforts. If I can't give you my best effort, I would rather return your money instead of a subpar piece of art.

If I have not contacted you by October 31st please send me a message! If you don't see this journal, don't worry! As I go through my queue and remove people via refund/completion of art, I will have more time to delve deep into my DMs and google drive to find every last piece I owe. If you don't message me, you are not forfeiting your right to art, I will find your order and complete it! Luckily I don't have a lot of hiding things, since I was relatively organized throughout my artistic endeavors.

I know that this may sound like bullshit at this point, but I truly do mean it from the bottom of my heart: Thank you. If you bought art from me in the past, thank you. If you waited literal years for it, thank you. Even if you're angry at me, I understand, and I am still thankful for you. Patience wears thin over this amount of time, and I understand it. So thank you. For supporting me, for liking my work, for putting up with this horseshit I've put you through.

I would be livid if I were in your shoes, and I humbly apologize for that. My above explanation is no excuse. It's a reason for me to keep hiding, but that doesn't make it okay that I put you all through this. I am sorry, and I hope to one day grace your inbox with artwork that makes you smile.

Hi guys, I've been not doing so well. My mental health has reached a point to where I'm unable to do commission-work as a job any longer. It's been bad for a while, but I've finally been able to admit that it's not working out and it won't improve any time soon.

That being said, I have landed a new job! I'm moving to a new place late next month, but due to this new source of income I am planning on refunding all of my overdue work. Until the move is completed, refunds will be slow, but after the move I'll be committing all of my spare income to getting that done ASAP.

I'm so sorry to all of you who have been waiting an inexcusable amount of time. It's not anyone's fault but my own, but I'm going to work hard to correct it as soon as I can. Thank you to everyone who's supported me over the years, and waited so patiently. I'm sad that I can't give you the product that you were looking forward to, and I hope that I can do commission work again one day, though not any time soon.

I'm sorry about the radio silence as of late, I've been overwhelmed by personal life stuff and recovering from things as well. I really appreciate everyone's patience <3


I'll cut to the chase! I'm sure some of you have noticed that I've started posting again, and I am making progress in my backlog queue. Yes! I now have a loooot of time to do this! The reason being is I'm now unemployed. I have a new job lined up, but until then I have a lot of time to work on owed work.

That being said, this means I have limited income right now. I'm currently in the middle of a move so this is really bad timing for me to lose a job! However I've been taking small commissions like icons and stuff to make ends meet until my new job starts. I'm currently managing my time to spend about half on owed art and half on new little art. I want to plan on keeping my artistic momentum once I have my new job lined up where I'm working on all my backlog each evening. I don't want to be taking new commissions when that happens, but will continue to take a small amount of work until then. I don't like having to do this, but unfortunately I am at that point. So I will do the best I can to deliver my owed art as soon as possible.

Hey guys!

Long time, no talk! I'm so sorry about the delay. I've honestly been doing pretty poorly, mental health wise. Not to overshare or guilt-trip though, just to let you know I haven't been completely just fucking around haha. I haven't been this low since high school, but it feels like things are slowly but steadily improving. I'm finally crawling back out from under my rock and am committed to making things work.

I'd been committed to MFF for some time now (tickets purchased ages ago, etc etc) so I will be working that con! I'm hoping to make a few bucks to put towards refunds if anybody else would like one, otherwise I'll be spending some time with friends I haven't seen in ages and bolstering my resolve to come back after the con in full force. Hey all! I hope you're all doing well, approaching this con season~

I've settled into my job, and I really enjoy it! I feel a lot of stress being lifted off of my shoulders just having a reliable income, and the responsibility of having to be self motivating out of my hands. That being said, I am essentially able to support myself fully through this job. I will not likely be taking any new commissions for a couple of months to give myself a rest.

In addition to that, I am also going to start a list of clients who desire refunds. Hello, everyone!

I have some big news! I've been looking for jobs outside of freelancing for a while now, and just landed one! So that being said, my commission intake is going to slow down significantly. I will be opening up for 1 more batch of iron artists later this month to cover my beginning of the month bills until I start getting paid at my new job, and then after that I will be adjusting my prices and only opening for a few pieces a month.

ALRIGHT so I got my PS/2 keyboard in, navigated through downloading the drivers, and discovered that the PCI-e card isn't compatible with my motherboard OTL My motherboard is likely 5+ years old, so I'm honestly not surprised. I'll be getting another one after FWA!

However, good news is I can get all my working files off my desktop to my laptop, and work on it! So work will resume Monday :]

Another updated x.x: So, the CPU cooler got here, works fine! However, my PCI-e USB card needs drivers to work. But I can't install them because all my devices are USB, including my keyboard. I tried using a USB to PS/2 adapter, but still won't work for my keyboard OR mouse. So I'm consulting a couple of people to see what my next step would be. Either getting a PS/2 keyboard (my USB one might just not work with the adapter, since it's a gaming keyboard) that doesn't need drivers to work, or a new motherboard. Hopefully the former will be it, cause it's a lot less pricey x.x

Thank you again to everyone who's been patient! I'll keep updating here, hopefully I'll have my computer back to working order soon!

UPDATE: Shipping updates, my CPU cooler will be in on Friday! So after it gets here and I install it, work will resume ;3;

Hey, all!

I'm currently dealing with some computer issues. My desktop, which is my main drawing computer, needs a new CPU cooler. I've ordered it, and it's in the mail, but it'll be 4-7 business days. Hopefully less! Once it gets in, I'll install it, and I should be back to work ;3;

However, in the meantime I only have my laptop and traditional work. I'll likely have some adoptables up this evening, but my laptop is extremely inconvenient to work from and I'd rather wait on my desktop than complete subpar work on my laptop. I'll update this journal when I get a more specific shipping date (I ordered it literally 5 minutes ago haha)!

I expect it to be in by the end of this week though, NewEgg is pretty good about shipping!

Anyway, I just wanted to update all my clients. I really appreciate everyone's patience, and understanding while I sit here twiddling my thumbs without my computer haha. Keep an eye out for some traditional badges though! :3c

Ahhh I hate to open up again so soon, but I have a lot of things coming up that I need to take care of ;3; I will be sketching pretty much all my oldest batch today, and finishing up several big pieces as well~
