Our Next Commission opening
Posted 9 years agoWe will be taking commissions pretty soon. We will be opening either mid-late Janaury or early February. Those interested keep an eye out.
Our completion dates will be May-June for all, but could be earlier depending on your spot in the queue.
Preference this time will be to Bright colors, artistic liberty or realistic fursuits, so if you have any of those you are golden!
Not sure how many slots yet, but Id guess 4-6!
We also have some premade designs in the works that should be ready before or for pickup at BLFC.

Posted 9 years agoHey guys! sorry we arent opening tomorrow, instead were opening the day after tomorrow.
To put a long story short, I have a bit of a scare with possible cancer (there is something in my body and we dont know what it is.) my appointment was able to be moved to tomorrow instead of the much later date, so I will be gone all day at the doctor's, so it's better to open tomorrow for me. sorry guys, real life happens sometimes. We will be opening around 10-11 CA time (possibly a little earlier) on June 15th. Thanks for waiting and being patient! Sorry for the delay.

By the way, here are the plans for the summer:
- Complete toony canine blank (about 80% complete)
- Toony Corgi Fullsuit (Maple)
- Black and white oldstyle disney fox villain (think steamboat willie)
- Cockatiel premade
We will be moving into commissions during june, currently we have November and September slots filled but we will have more slots opening for people! We will also be taking downpayments during june and will be ordering supplies in August for our september and october fursuits, we will be ordering supplies for the following months a bit later. Have no fear, although we may sit on your downpayment for a month or two (we will be getting a new stable address in august which is when we are moving in together in our new apartment; that's why we arent taking a commission/only doing leisure work during the summer, because we don't know how hectic moving will be and would rather be able to stick to deadlines than bite off more than we can chew.
Anyway, Im very excited for the future and cant wait to start making things for you guys, especially with a regular/monthly queue, and slipping into our style better, since we want to move closer to a toony-realistic.
We also are offering halfsuits for those interested, with digigrade or plantigrade pants! :D

Posted 9 years agoHey all! So with things I bit more solidified for the future, we have what's closer to a definite date we will be able to complete commissions.
Our current date is possibly subject to change, but we're going to shoot for September 2016.
We will be queueing up until January 2017. We will be opening FOUR slots.
The way we will be opening slots is slightly different than most makers, in that we will give you the option for the month you choose your suit to be completed in.
The slots that will be open will be grabbable by month, the month being the date your suit is completed. (For example, If we open in june and you are the first to choose, you may choose any month following june.) This is to give an opportunity both to those who want their suits fast and to those who wish to do a payment plan to better afford a fursuit. The months are first come, first serve, but you have the option of when you want your suit to be completed.
We will be opening for slot grabs in Mid-May to Early June, with the work starting and end ending during the month of September for our first suit! This gives us time to get situated since we're going to be moving over July/August, and also gives us a bit of time to sort things out and order fur for projects!
When we open for slots in June please be aware you may have limited contact until work begins in September!
The way our system is going to work will be; We will post a journal with the link to our google doc which has a form you can fill out via note. After sending in the form you will recieve a quote on it. If you choose to get a suit from us, months available will be posted in a journal. If, for example, you want your suit quickly and have enough money to pay before the completion date; you might choose an earlier month, September for example. If you want a suit but would prefer a few months to pay slowly, you may choose December. The month you choose will be the month your suit will be completed within. So if you choose December for example, don't expect progress work before December, however you will be updated with pictures of your fur once it's ordered in advance, as well as being able to follow our tumblr (featherbat.tumblr.com) to recieve updates on other suits and get some ~hype~!
As always, securing your spot means paying your material cost (35-40% of the full cost) and all supplies for following months will be ordered at the same time! So you will recieve updates on fur color and we will work with you ensure the materials were ordering are up to par for you!
Another thing that will be available will be in our toony heads; we will be working with Replacement eyes, which are removable for washing, and can be replaced in a variety (usually 3!) expressions. Replacement eyes are only available on heads without following eyes. For heads with following eyes, the pair of eyes will be able to velcro out for washing, but can't be replaced. Instead we're working on replacement eyelids,so your character may be able to change their expression from happy, to angry, to tired!
We have some neat things in the work!
As well, we're working on getting situated into a consistent sort of style, so expect to see a bit more uniformity in our gallery (most notably, the Aries Lion fursuit will be our toony standard, and a suit coming up in the coming month, Starbolt, will be our Semi-realistic standard.)
We are also going to work with head casting via expanding foam for toony heads and resin for semi-realistic heads as well as working with our resin blank to possibly create a toony-realistic hybrid-type-suit. Even though or commissions are closed, we've got a lot to offer in the coming months so stay tuned!

Posted 9 years agoA little update on commission availability
As you guys may or may not know, my girlfriend and I are having a pretty hectic summer.
We're moving in together, and also spending some months with both of our families before leaving.
Because of this we won't be opening commissions until the end of Summer, around August. We may Queue up a couple months before then, though!
By the by, we're going to be opening for Toony digigrade/platigrade fullsuits and partials this time around.
We're also going to be doing 2 premades during the summer, so keep your eyes peeled for that.
We're also doing a personal suit of Aries, and planning on attending quite a few more cons next year, as we'll be based out of San Diego.
We plan on queuing up for an entire year following the end of this one with some minor price adjustments.
Sorry we aren't opening sooner, but we didn't want hard deadlines following moving, especially since it wouldn't be fair to our commissioners to push their deadlines back, so we're only going to be doing premades for the next couple months. How many? Probably something like 2-3 :)
