Posted 9 years ago**** AUCTION IS RUNNING as of now, ENDING ON May,13th at 6:00 PM! 2016. ****
- This is the first ever auction for a FULL suit from Stormfire Studios Costumes and Fursuits ! - Will run for 7 days, and close at 6:00 PM on May 13,2016. Eastern Standard Time.
The winner of this commission, will automatically be placed in the "Priority Pool" for the commission to start as soon as the commission auction ends & if the suit is paid-in-full within 7 days of commission ending. There are options for payments too, and if 50 % of the suit is paid for within 7 days of Auction ending, it will begin in the priority pool, but extended over the payment period not exceeding 8 months.
There will be some rules and regulations regarding the commission auction, including all the standard rules that are in the SSC Commission Application Forms. ( i will email the new updated forms to the winner & bidders who wish to view them.
TERMS of the Auction:
- Before you bid or qualify, you must agree & accept to the following:
- This Auction will be only for one full standard fursuit commission from Stormfire Studios Costumes,
Commission is limited to: "most" common standard mammal species, and some basic Avian species. (*Eagles, Hawks. The species will have to be discussed & approved before accepted.)
- The highest bidder at the closing time/date is the final winner of the auction. The minimum Down payment of 25 % of the total bid price is required with in 48 hours of of the Auction closing to secure the Commission. If for any reason the highest bidder is disqualified, the Commission will go to the next highest bidder at auction closing. Bidder/Winner must be of 18 years or older, must live on this planet and be in a country that can accept shipped parcels from Canada. The Bid commission price is in standard US Dollars (Currency) only at this time. This commission is for one full suit commission only, ( no murr suits or modifications as i do not build those type of suits.) all other terms and rules found on the Commission Application Forms Downloaded from Stormfire Studios Costumes Website must be accepted and agreed with to qualify. The winner of the suit commission, gets the commission entered in the current group, and if paid of in full within 7 days, it gets placed in the priority pool for build time. Build time for the commission is the standard 90 days from the start time, (3 months) with a 90 day buffer for back order materials, family emergencies, etc which extends the build to 6 months on those instances.
If a lower level is won, and you wish to add features or options found in the higher big levels, those can be added as standard extra-cost options and discussed with the auction commission winner.*

> 5. from 3500 and up to 3900 = more than 4 colors in the suit, with more design open body pattern options, including 3D eyes, moving jaw, outdoor feet, multicolor feet ( indoor or outdoor) & hand paws, mild airbrushing/highlighting medium options and detailing, with up to 8 special options selection. ( See list "A" ) Included travel Repair kit, and one Head balaclava.
> 6. if it exceeds 4500, the commission will include all the level #5 options, but will include shipping costs, and up to 5 colors of fur in the suit , more detailed airbrushing, all the options listed in List-"A" if wanted, and includes a Travel repair kit, a head drier unit, and two head Balaclavas. ( and can discuss other unique options or design additions.)

After the sad moments of the weekend before last, and finishing up Dakkota Wolf V2 this past weekend, now getting ready for one of the most fun conventions this side of the solar system.
Will be myself, Ronnie,(Tien Long) Clumzy Lion, Wookiee, & maybe another (but unsure) traveling together to MCFC on Thursday morning next week. We all will be there until Monday. There will be four brand new SSC fursuits debuting at MCFC this year, will be Diezel V3 for
diezelraccoon , the new fox for 
Tontig_Fox , a new Fox for 
synthfox87 , and the debut of the new SSC version of the SSC mascot Dakkota Timberwolf V2.
the SSC group photo will be done after the parade, outside near the Gazebo on Sheraton Patio area. (back door near the pool) photos will be done by the amazing photographer

(weather permitting) if weather is bad we will do the photo in the lobby area with direction from Abrahm.
I am looking to compile a list of SSC fursuiters for the photoshoot below. *** Let me know if you can make the special photoshoot so i can add you below.

We may plan a dinner meet in the evening, (between 6 & 7 pm) on the Thursday if anyone is interested, either go to the On-The-Border place next door, or Chilli's up the street, so just checking to see if anyone's interested. Also i will have a handful of extra new Fursuit Balacalavas for anyone who is in need of one, (send me a PM to let me know if you want one as there are limited numbers!)
I thought about having a SSC room meet/party thing ( if the other room mates are interested too) in our room. (our room will be Me, Clumzy, Sozan, & Diezel, ( with Ronnie for Thursday night) I thought about bringing along the Tiki-Bar for in the room for some fun bar stuff if we have space in my truck. :P

Will be myself, Ronnie,(Tien Long) Clumzy Lion, Wookiee, & maybe another (but unsure) traveling together to MCFC on Thursday morning next week. We all will be there until Monday. There will be four brand new SSC fursuits debuting at MCFC this year, will be Diezel V3 for

synthfox87 , and the debut of the new SSC version of the SSC mascot Dakkota Timberwolf V2. the SSC group photo will be done after the parade, outside near the Gazebo on Sheraton Patio area. (back door near the pool) photos will be done by the amazing photographer
abrahm (weather permitting) if weather is bad we will do the photo in the lobby area with direction from Abrahm.

We may plan a dinner meet in the evening, (between 6 & 7 pm) on the Thursday if anyone is interested, either go to the On-The-Border place next door, or Chilli's up the street, so just checking to see if anyone's interested. Also i will have a handful of extra new Fursuit Balacalavas for anyone who is in need of one, (send me a PM to let me know if you want one as there are limited numbers!)
I thought about having a SSC room meet/party thing ( if the other room mates are interested too) in our room. (our room will be Me, Clumzy, Sozan, & Diezel, ( with Ronnie for Thursday night) I thought about bringing along the Tiki-Bar for in the room for some fun bar stuff if we have space in my truck. :P

Posted 9 years agoThe pain of losing my Rudy has not eased up much yet..
- I had planned to attend Furnal Equinox for the Saturday for a day-pass as a surprise appearance for the the first time in 4 years. I had Dakkota 1.0 brushed out and packed in the Duffle bag to make a surprise appearance for photos for his last time at a con before retirement, but all those plans changed when my Rudy Shep began to get sicker over the last week. On Thursday he began vomiting continuously, and drinking water profusely all day & Thursday night, He became very restless all Friday, as if he could not get comfortable in one spot. Then at 6:30 AM Saturday, he had a very severe seizure while sleeping at the foot of my bed, he began convulsing to the point it woke me up and he fell on the floor. Then after that stopped, he could no longer stand up or walk. I carried him out to the living room * put him on a big pillow in front of the fireplace to keep him warm, but he began to have more mini-seizures that got progressively worse by noon.
Myself & my step father wrapped Rudy up in a blanket then took him to the local Vet hospital. They hooked hip up to iv, and the docs checked him over, but discovered there was nothing they could do, as it appeared that the cancer may have spread to his brain & other organs. it was decided to do what is best for Rudy, but just before the doc prepared the needle Rudy stopped breathing, then his heart stopped beating on his own, & he passed away at roughly 4:30 pm Saturday.
He will be cremated, and his ashes returned to me, where i will take Rudy's ashes and bring them to Newfoundland and bury him next to Rudy the 1st and another family dog located in the country near a favorite fishing lake.
Right now i am grieving as anyone would. This year has been not good so far with the one guy i loved so much dumped me last month, and now losing Rudy. I am not really close to my direct family, so all i had was my one love and Rudy, now both are gone and i have nobody really close.
- I would like to offer a sincere thanks to everyone who called me on the phone to talk, sent text messages, PM, DM, and notes over the weekend.
i received messages from distant friends, relatives, and even people i have not seen in a long time. It did hurt a little to not hear from many local close friends over the weekend, but that's life i guess. I understand that some were busy with a con and their own life. At least my room-mate Blake texted me and came home to give me a big hug on Sunday, and Wookiee visited on Saturday for a moment to pick up some fur fabric, and offer a hug.
So right now i am working hard on Dakkota Wolf 2.0 to try to get him completed for Motor City Fur Con, also to keep my mind busy as every time i think about Rudy or see his favorite sleeping spots in the now empty home i break down into tears, and i know i will do so for a long time..
The only things that keep me going forward right now is the friends close & far who care & give me the spirits to move forward..

Rudy is gone...
Posted 9 years agoHe's gone.....My Rudy pup passed away at 4:23 pm, Saturday, March 19, 2016..... he passed peacefully on his own after the doc gave him a sedative.
now home & the pain & reality sets in.. i never felt so lonely in my life as i do now. i don't know how i will get through this loosing my buddy..

Posted 9 years agoRudy took a turn for the worse this morning.. he began to have bad seizures, and can no longer walk..leaving now to bring him to the vet hospital with my step father. its likely he won't last a couple more hours.
Zootopia private furry sreening today :P (no spoilers)
Posted 9 years agothere were roughly 43 of us at a theater for a private screening of Zootopia in Toronto this morning, many of us were in fursuit too. The event meet was organized by Flowkitty, with lots of photos taken by Prplhaze. We even did a fursuit photo shoot in the theater lobby by the Zootopia Train display, and down by the screen in the theater after the movie!
I even pulled Dakkota Wolf 1.0 out of retirement to partial at the event. :)
As for the movie itself, it was better than expectations. :D i won;t get into details to avoid spoilers, but if you have not seen it yet its a must see movie.

First, two weeks ago my mate Garthwolf gave up on me and ended our relationship.. (left me) his reasons he claims was the distance, but i feel there is more.
I took Rudy to the Vet hospital today for a scheduled removal of some bad teeth, but something much, worse was found..
He has advanced cancer in his mouth, tongue, gums and lower jaw.. He has been loosing a lot of weight over the last few weeks, and it was thought to be due to bad teeth, but its much more serious than that. The Doc will clean his teeth for now, and put him on a strong antibiotic & pain meds to help him, but the prognosis is bad, he may only have a couple weeks left to live...
Losing Rudy will be a double blow after losing my Garthwolf. I do not know how i will be able to cope with the loneliness and pain of all this.

If all goes well, he should be completed by March or April to be Debuted at an (unknown) convention.
- However, i am still unsure of his new head shape & style. Dakkota will still retain his expression, Tribal stripes, headress, face patterns, and heritage, but the initial shape & style is still up in the air and pen to suggestions.
Below are some ideas i had in mind for the new Dakkota, and listed in order. VOTE on what YOU suggest i do with the new 2.0 version of Dakkota.

NYE party, current fursuit stuff, etc.
Posted 9 years agoSo 2015 has come to an end and past. it was a year with ups and downs like everyone experiences, and hope 2016 holds some better moments. :)
The 8th annual SSC New Years party was a blast, with a record number of 31 attendees this year, it was quite the crowd but it was still fun. Ther NYE event has gotten to the point that we could make it more of a public event, sort of a mini convention, but that means more of a group effort of a NYE committee would be needed and a lot more preparations & work, and the other downfalls would be it would require hotel room reservations, (and event suites/small conference rooms to be rented & reserved to allow more attendees, also a registration fee and forming of a non-profit organization, ( like conventions) to make it work.
Up to now the event for those invited was completely free, ( for sleeping arrangements, parking, functions, services, etc) but this year it went way over my planned budget costing me 4 times more than i had planned.
for next year (2016/17) i will have to re-evaluate how this is run & planned, unless we can form a committee to make it an open event like a NYE Furry mini-con in a leased venue like a hotel.
as for this year the event went smoothly, everyone had fun and things went good, (except for a few hiccups & isolated incidents) everything went great.
I hope everyone who attended this year had a great time, as the amount of work & cost that was put into hosting this at my house was extreme this year.

This year is very lonely for me, as all my Family is away this year, and my Kiwi sweet potato Woofy Poof Garthwoof is in Ohio. Tonight has been getting me down do to those, and added that Rudy my almost 12 year old Shep is becoming more ill every day. He is not eating properly, loosing weight, and now loosing balance at times. I know the inevitable is coming & he don't have a lot of time left..
I do look forward to seeing all those coming to the SSC NewYears celebrations this year, as regardless of the amount of work i have to do and cost to host it, its always a highlight i look forward to bringing in another new year.

Posted 9 years agoAfter hearing about Horleqism's death, and others recently who i know, (Family, Friends, etc.) i been realizing that life is way to short to not live to its fullest..
Another thing is people who hate others for who they are, what they do, how they live, things they believe in, and so on.
Horelquism was a friend of mine who i have know for many years, who i met nearly a decade ago at local meets, and he always seemed to be a happy guy who enjoyed making others happy too. he was younger than i am, and his passing hit me hard again like a ton of bricks, especially when i see others younger than i pass away..
Hate & grudges should not be a thing that exists. I know myself, as everyone of you who read this, all have had grudges and fall-outs with friends and others.
As bad as some have hurt me in the past or done things that bright me down, I never hold a life-long hate grudge against them. We are only in this existence for one time and one time only. Once that time is up we can not get it back to change things we want to change.
Like many of you, i have had my share of hate and slander thrown at me, but i eventually get past it and let bygons be bygons so to speak, as one day when we are gone and passed on, none of that will ever matter, but those who you hold dearly and the good memories you have with them are what is worth holding onto and what really matters.
I always count my lucky stars nearly every day i am still healthy and alive, as it hits always me hard when i see friends younger than me become ill, or die..
Sometimes i have to block people who attack me for their own reasons, but i never keep them blocked out for the reasons above, as i mentioned life is just to damn short to live full of hate, and i wish the same to those who have had falling outs with others, including me, to do the same.. as some day you may wish you have when you had the chance.
- So i say to you all, stop the hate, lust, jealousy, and ignorance, and cherish every day you have and cherish the friends you have & had, and make right what you have done wrong, and end all grudges and bad feelings as they are not worth it when they are gone forever.

Loss of a local fur friend.. RIP
Posted 9 years agoSome sad news tonight.. with the loss of a local Ontario fur friend, 
Horlequism passed away due to heart complications. I have known him for many years, met often at cons, meets, etc. he was a fun guy at Camp Feral & loved to fursuit.. Rest in peace dude..

We left Wednesday night and traveled with
Clumzy , 
frostyShepherd , and another local who i forgot her name. :P
The drive to and back from Chicago was good, except for the scary moment when the roof carrier full of fursuits and luggage let-go and blew off the roof of the car, sliding down the west-bound 401 freeway at 100 + kph and coming to a stop in the ditch in the mud upside down! - Fortunately the tough Karrite Voyager carrier survived the ordeal and held together protecting all the contents. (somehow one of the straps hooks slipped loose causing the carrier to detach like the Space shuttle from the rocket boosters.)
other than that the drive to there and back was great.
At the con i roomed with my potato woof

draftstallion2005 . The SSC Fursuit photoshoot went well, photos taken by the awesome abrahm and others, with 18 Stormfire Studios suits in total. Also this year at MFF two new debuting suits including Ace Husky and Clumzy Lion, and Garth Wolf's first Hotel con debut too. with 18 in the photo and i counted another 10 + at the con at least who missed the photo.
Everything was awesome this year, the weather was great, the parade, everything. We had so much fun at the Hofbrauhaus Restaurant Bar nearby. ( Thank you to Lav & Der for inviting us for the first time to there, had so much fun we went for a second time with a larger group! :D
This year's MFF was huge, at some 5600 plus attendees, and 1370 + suiters in the parade, its now approaching Anthrocon for numbers. If it keeps growing it will become the largest furry convention on the planet, (which Anthrocon has held that title for 15 + years)
It was awesome to see so many friends and meet new friends at MFF this year, and got to finally meet DeFox from Liverpool, UK too for the first time.
As mentioned before, MFF this year was planned to be Dakkota Wolf 1.0 last appearance & retirement con, and hopefully Dakkota 2.0 will debut at MCFC 2016 in the spring if i can get him done in time.

SSC Fursuit photo shoot reminder!
Posted 10 years agoWe will meet at the Atrium staircase at 4 pm sharp. ( photo will be done by Abrahm. The Atrium is the staircase under the large sky dome skylight in the prominade area where the old fursuit lounge used to be. We will begin meeting there at 3:30 - 3:45 pm.

Posted 10 years agoJust curious, i thought about doing a Fursuit photos shoot of all SSC suiters with their State & Provincial Flags, ( only those who have a State/Provincial flag thwy could bring to MWFF.
Then maybe do a Fursuit photo shoot of ALL Fursuiters displaying their State & Provincial flags. it is possible?

Some important MFF updates!

I am currently patching up Dakkota Wolf for his very last convention before the suit is retired. This original suit is approaching 8 years old, and began as my prototype suit before i began building fursuits as a profession, meaning Dakkota has a lot of flaws and old learning techniques i have long since improved on.
I had planed on having Dakkota 2.0 built last spring, but it got side tracked and other commitments got in the way.
MFF 2015 will be Dakkota's 7th MidwestFurfest since his first con debut at MFF in 2008.
This means that MFF 2015 will be your last chance to get photos with Dakkota 1.0 before i have to retire the suit.
i hope to put some overtime in over the winter and get Dakkota Wolf 2.0 up and Ready for his Debut at MCFC.
Next agenda is the SSC group photo shoot. It will be either Friday or Saturday, and the time will depend on the scheduling, but plan on Friday for around 4 pm if possible.
I will have my camera gear there, and currently looking for a volunteer(s) photographers who wish to take photos of the group. We plan on doing the photo on the stair case as last year, but may not do it after the parade as its to busy then, which is why we may schedule it for on Friday between 3 & 5 PM.
I will have my phone there for texting, and will post more updates on my Twitter about the exact times or any changes that may occur.
Let me know here your thoughts on times for the group photo, and if you wish to help out with photos. :)

Will be traveling with clumzy , 
tillwoofie , and a group of others from here to Chicago on Wednesday night arriving on Thursday morning.
Will be rooming with Garthwolf , JakeShep , and draftstallion2005 in the Hyatt.
We will be doing a Stormfire Studios Fursuit photo shoot either Friday or Saturday, will confirm soon the day and a time.
There will be a number of new SSC suiters there for the first time at MWFF this year. Reply below if your an SSC suiter and will be at MFF and interested in the photo shoot.
