A one day delay has turned into some serious radio silence and I must apologize.

Got some IRL freelance to deal with, as well as family and friend stuff.
I have three other skeletons in various stages of completion, but have not had the time to ink them or scan them. Snake skeleton is really making me question my decision to do a naga skeleton augh haaaaha I have rather shaky hands lately which is not helping!

Summed up: excuses, excuses. Hope to have updates starting again next monday

Well I finally seem to have shaken the worst of the flu, and I've gotten myself a brand new tablet stylus!

Updates will continue to be sporadic for a bit while I'm working on comic pages for an anthology, because as much as I just want to doodle folkins and jazz, being sick put me behind schedule and I absolutely hate missing deadlines!

I've got the flu, and the dog chewed up my tablet stylus.

Fingers crossed that I might be able to futz with the damaged pen to make it work, else I'll need to go buy a new one augh. That's 70$ I would much rather keep in my wallet.

I've got enough cold medication to sink an elephant, but the downside is that I'm loopy and prone to dropping off into dozes at random times.

I'm back from my whirlwind trip across the USA and back again and to be totally frank with you I am exhausted. Happy and inspired too! but mainly just oh my god i want to sleep for a week

So I kinda derped and missed my hitting of 1k views (I know it's not much compared to some, but it's still plenty to me!) so I thought perhaps I would offer a Kiriban at 1500 views?
The counter just flipped into 1400 range so there's about a hundred views to go - and I sincerely hope no one will just camp for it! - but if you catch the 1500 view, or the closest to 1500, take a screen cap and send it to me in a note. Just title it something like 'Kiriban WAHOO' or whatever so I know what it's about please!

I've started drawing up a batch of eggs for people to adopt, and streamlining how I would like the process to go!
For $7, you buy an egg, tell me/show me a picture of what special ingredient was included in their breeding, and I'll whip up a colored feral folkin for you to name and use for your own. There're are bound to be a few species wide rules, which I will include on the adoption page so everyone can find them.

BUT before I get these eggs out and up for buying, I want to post a species info sheet. So until that's done, I won't be posting any folkins for adoption (the only way you'd get one would be to hit the kiriban, as described above!)

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand this leads me into the third topic:

I'm going on a cross country road trip starting the 7th and returning the 16th! East coast to west!
I'm not sure yet if I'll be bringing my laptop, so updates may be on hiatus while I am abroad. I promise to take about a billion photos of clouds, this I do swear.

If I don't get the info species sheet up before the 6th, I won't be posting adoptable folkins until I get back home after the trip for sure. Y'all will prolly have plenty of time to save or scrounge up seven bucks if you're interested!

I'm hoping y'all are still enjoying these guys because that's what I think I'll be drawing for awhile yet.
The silly infodump sheet was a lot of fun to draw, and I may do more like it if I can think of other things to give you info about. Maybe something about the communities they live in? Or I could do something about their gods? Not sure yet!
If there's anything you'd like to know about them, please feel free to comment either here or on any of the folkin pieces. I'm only too happy to talk about them and puzzle out more about their world!

Also, just to throw out some feelers, would any of y'all be interested in adopting a folkin of your own?
Since the creation info has been posted, (Found here) I thought perhaps I could put together a sheet with eggs on it and list the various specifics of their ritual for each egg. If you wanted to buy one for yourself, you could supply me with the special ingredient and a desired personality?

I dunno, it sounds like it could be fun! I wouldn't want them to be expensive, probably somewhere in the $5-10 range, and I could whip up a basic ref?

Hallo Folks!

I've been doing a lot of sketching lately, but I psych myself out every time I think about uploading the sketches here on FA. The end result is that I've drawn a ton, and nobody knows about it. Not exactly a great way to keep y'all interested in my stuff!

So I happened upon an article the other day that talked about taking small steps to reach what can seem like unachievable goals, and they mentioned something that interested me:
Apparently if you can make yourself do something for about 40 straight days, it becomes habit. Something about 40 days being the amount of time it takes to rewire your neurological synapses or some sciency brain talk?

So I've decided that starting today, I'm going to force myself to update my FA account EVERY DAY for the next 40, and see if I can't struggle past this weird psych out fear of showing y'all my work. I don't intend to do any sort of themes or daily challenges beyond 'ART and POST ART' because apparently I'm enough of a wussbot that makes that a big enough hurdle to overcome anyways.

So... yup.

In the Lifestuffs dept.:
I got a new dog in mid December. He'll be a year in February, so his body is full grown but he's still a goofball puppy who needs a lot of training! He's lucky that he's very cute and lovable.
It's been about 7 months since our last dog had to be put to sleep, and I feel like this pup is really helping me and my family heal. The house is a lot more lively, that's for sure.

Anyways, enough from me. Time to stop delaying and begin my 40 days of turning it around! (Aaaaaaaaaah)

Won't have a scanner as far as I can tell, so we'll have to see if I get a chance to do digital work or if my lovely older sister will work me to the bone XD FAMILY WUT WUT

Spent today reinstalling all my programs and installing some older ones I'd forgotten about! *coughCorelPaintercough*
I've got some pencil art I did when the comp was in the shop, but I haven't had a chance to get them scanned yet. I'll try and get some of that put up tomorrow morning before the day runs away with me!

I kinda feel like stretching my art muscles, and exploring Corel with some art, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to draw!

Hey folks, I apologize for the radio silence!
My computer got hit with something nasty over last weekend and I still haven't heard back from the repair place on what exactly is wrong. Hopefully it will be an easy fix and my laptop will be salvageable, but for the time being I'm SOL when it comes to digital art.

I am lucky enough to have access to a scanner and plenty of traditional materials, so expect the next few updates to be pencil or ink, if I get around to anything.

Again, I'm sorry for the sudden disappearing act.

As many of you may have seen, I've been doing playing card based character portraits recently!
They are quite fun to do, and as a fresh-faced college grad who is trying to save up some money for real life things, I thought I would offer up commissions for anyone who is interested.
Here's the facts:

PLAYING CARD CHARACTER COMMISSIONS

Character Card: $16.
All payments are in USD and done through Paypal.
All cards will be digitally created and in color.

For me to be able to create these cards, I need some information, so please include:

--Character reference image or sheet

--Some idea of a theme or motifs you would like included in the patterns and details of the clothes. If you have a specific pattern or symbol in mind, please include that too. These themes can be based around the character's history, their personality, or something which is important to them. I don't need a ton of these themes/motifs/patterns/etc. though, so please don't go overboard!

--If there is an object you would like your character to be holding in one hand, or have placed in the image. If you can't think of something physical your character might have around them literally, feel free to think of something metaphorical! If your character has a longer tail, I can place that in as one of the background motifs instead of using an object. OR if you would rather leave out the item/have empty hands just let me know.

- The placement of items and holdings varies from card to card - The Jack of Hearts has a hand holding something, but he also has a weapon in traditional card-art, whereas, the Queen of Clubs holds one flower in one hand and that's it. --If you have a preference for a certain noble (i.e.: King, Queen or Jack/Knave)

--If you have a preference for a certain suit (i.e.: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs or Spades)

So I graduated from college. Daaaaaang what even just happened I feel like a babbling idiot.
Herp derp

First off I just wanna apologize for how infrequently I post journals. I check FA at least once a day, most days, but I never feel like I've got anything groundbreaking or interesting to say. Hence, no journals. I don't mean to come off as quiet, I just don't want to waste anybody's time. X\

But what I wanted to say this time is that I know the rate of art hitting my account is slowing down - but in actuality I have been drawing like a fiend! Like many others, I'm reaching the end of the college school year - as well as getting close to graduation - and I'm so much busier than I ever remember being before! I've got a lot of art that I'm doing for my classes which has been eating my time and artsy powers. I haven't had a chance to digitally finish the things I'm working on for FA, since I've been working in my sketchbooks of late. Would y'all have any opinions/want me to post up my sketches before they get digitized?

I'm not sure if anyone actually reads these journals anyways, now that I think about it. I won't get bummed if no one responds.

Also I would love to start doing commissions come summertime - but there's a lot to be done between now and then so I'ma leave that hazy for the mo.
