Happy Holidays!
Posted 13 years agoHi everyone!
I haven't officially fallen off the edge of the world yet, so I wanted to wish you all happy holidays. I hope you were all able to spend time with your loved ones... and scored some pretty sweet stuff.
Didn't get to go to Cali this year, but next year it will be a definite! Spent this year with stay_frosty's family. So far I've got some neato things including a couple art books, signed Michonne art, a new coat, and some luggage of my own so I don't have to steal stay_frosty 's parents luggage! hehehe.
And today we went and saw Django Unchained. If you are a Tarantino fan go now! Shoo! Scram! :DDD
So how are your guys' holidays goin?

.Reboot
Posted 13 years agoLately I've felt overwhelmed by the amount of things I have yet to learn in art. I know it'll be a never ending quest of quenching my thirst for new techniques and bettering my art-but I feel like I haven't varied my work enough in the three years I seriously started to work on my art.
I briefly felt horribly depressed because I felt like I would never be able to achieve the skill level I wanted. How on earth could I improve my skill if there were so many things I needed to learn how to draw? I quickly hopped on the interwebs to search for books and tutorials geared toward extremely specific topics. I referred back to books I already owned, searched comic books for what I would need to achieve, looked through maaannny works of art-but then I stumbled upon this site:
www.ctrlpaint.com
After watching a few videos, I realized my knowledge of just the basics was extremely lacking. I jump to details too quickly because I feel like I might not get the look that I want. This leads to bad anatomy, proportions looking off, figures off balanced, wonky colors etc.
I just need to start all over.
I won't be uploading much at all unless it's something completed and *I* like it. On that note, there is going to be a gallery wipe tomorrow night. If there's anything you'd like to keep, I'd suggest saving it. There's little I'd like to save.
I'm looking forward to this reboot. I'm looking forward to attain new knowledge to better my work and get me closer to my goals.
Have a lovely weekend <3

Specie File: Opow
Posted 15 years agoType: Free Adoptable
Customs: $5
Specie: Opow
Nocturnal
Size: They grow to be about as large as a house cat.
Diet: Consists of insects and small rodents.
Grooming: Opows are very neat creatures. They groom themselves twice a night, and very often groom eachother. Bathing them is nothing to fear, they love the water. When taken in, they love for their owners to fix up their limited amount of fur.
Jewels:
Males have the large jewel and the two smaller jewels on their heads. Females only have the smaller jewels. The jewels, as well as the Opow's eyes glow.
The males use their large jewel to impress a female during a the mating ritual. Males will dance in the sky with a single female, jewels shining brightly. Whosever dance and jewel is the brightest and prettiest will win a mate.
General:
Opows are very gentle creatures. They are often found in groups, as they love to play and show off to each other. Their nests can be found at the top of the highest trees and at the mouth of caves.
Beware: They love shiny things. Opows collect anything that catches their eye and use it either for their nest, or if it's pretty enough, decorate their tails.
They are capable of walking on all fours and for a small amount of time, their hind legs, often before taking flight.
More will be added later mayhaps.
EDIT I've decided that I will use a template for free adoptables. HOWEVER. If you decide you would like to buy a custom Opow, I will not use a template, because I feel that's a pretty cheap thing to do =X [b]/EDIT[B]

Doin' it. Because sometimes my ideas need a jump start, and I think this will help.
I've decided that I'm going to do all of these traditionally with marker on 8X10 cardstock. I *might* offer originals for sale but.. that all depends on how they turn and obviously, your guys' interest in them.
HOWEVER- If you are commissioning me and would like to yoink a slot for your commission, whether digital or traditional, that's fine too.
