Reminder that tomorrow is Draw a Werewolf Day :)
Posted 10 years agoBecause the last couples of months have badly hurt my ability to take part in this tradition, I figured it might be as good to also reminds as much people as possible that tomorrow, Friday the 31st of July is a full moon and therefore Draw a Werewolf Day :)
Not only that, but it's the second full moon of the month making it a blue moon!
So go and get your pencils, get your snarly gnarly on and doodle out some werewolves to submit on the Draw a Werewolf Tumblr! http://drawawerewolf.tumblr.com/
Note you don't have to wait on every full moon to post on the tumblr but special occasions can certainly worth it and good for forming habits ;)
Also, if you have a Twitter do go and post your snarly beasties there under the #drawawerewolfday hashtag!
Want to support my art but you do not have 35-50$ to pay for a commission?
You can still support my work by pledging only 1-5$ per months for access to exclusive artwork on my Patreon! https://www.patreon.com/Fringecrow
Note I still also remains always open for commissions. Anybody interested can drop me an email at lmercierludo[at]gmail.com to discuss things out :)

End of month Update, Commissions and Projects
Posted 10 years agoSo, a new journal before the end of the month.
News
Long story told short... things got busy in june. I don't want to get into detail but aI found mine having to consider quitting my job, and doing so. Now I'm in the process of trying to deal with some longstanding issues I probably ignored too long through starting a process to get access to therapy(I don't want to get into the details)to resolves them.
This, and then instances of having to host guests amongst other things over this month and the last have led to perhaps a longer bout of inactivity than I would have liked as I tried(and am still trying) to get things sorted in my life.
Now that this is said, the fact is I am still unemployed which brings me to the next point, that is
being...
Commissions
Being unemployed, I still need to bring in money to pay some bills(though I have the support of family for the time being, I do not want to overuse it).
Right now I am currently looking at three commissions to complete(plus a fourth currently being set on hold) to completes however due to my current status I am open to taking more. Nonetheless, just in case there aren't more, I am starting to draft projects that I hope will remain interesting as well for those interested in my work.
And this said, for those who wishes to support my work(and are interested in having access to exclusive pieces of artwork) but cannot afford the 15-50$ that some can afford for a commission, there are still options to support my work on Patreon for only 1-5$ a month: https://www.patreon.com/Fringecrow?ty=h
Werewolves Versus the Nineties!
Now as I mentioned other art-related projects I might as well mention one in which I recently got involved in: Werewolves Versus the Nineties, to be published online by Werewolf News this August.
It was a bit of an honor to be invited to this project along so many other artists and to contribute a digital painting to what will be released as a pay-what-you-want ezine on the 18th of August.
However, while this will be pay-what-you-want, all profits made by this projects will be distributed between all contributors. So supporting this will be supporting my work(as well as that of many others).
You can find more about Werewolf News on their horror, werewolf-centric, blog here which is an awesome a place as can be for any werewolves fans out there: http://werewolf-news.com/
You can find more about Werewolf VS the Nineties on it's own site. If this see success "Werewolves Versus" might become a tradition with more issues made in the future: http://werewolvesversus.tumblr.com/

[NSFW]Sharing the Word-Abe E Seedy's "Shortcuts 2" now out!
Posted 10 years agoThis one is simple, though obviously not for everybody.
Do you like TF?
Do you like NSFW TF?
Do you like -very- NSFW TF?
Then(if you didn't already know) you might enjoy to know that
Abe_E_Seedy 's "Shortcuts 2" compilation of short (and definitively not safe for work) TF stories is now out! : http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16868124/
Also, do give a watch to
ripperelite and
Angrboda who are both awesome people and artists who both were involved in that work.
Edit: This might really not be for all of my watchers, but I know this ought to be of interest to many TF fans out of there. Plus I wanted to share this because Abe/Ripper/Angrboda are all "cool folks.tm"

New month and... hey, commission queue is empty! :D
Posted 10 years agoSo 'tis a new month. May's been plenty busy with what's best described as Lobsterpocalypse at my job as well as plenty of commissions completed. In fact, having finally gone through another sequence you folks can expect some amount of new pics to start being posted here starting tomorrow :)
This said, my commissions spreadsheet is finally empty. And having made as much in the last two months than the three who preceded them I won't lie that I wouldn't mind taking this from "as much than" to "more than" ;)
I've always been open for commissions be the fantasy, scifi or TF works and I've begun dabbling(with tentative steps) into more NSFW artwork. I feel like(bar some life stuff) I've begun to hit a nice workflow as well.
If you are interested, do leave an email at lmercierludo[at]gmail.com :)
For my commissions prices and other information, do give a look here again: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16426252/
Remember that you can always support me through my Patreon(do be warned it is a NSFW Patreon and thus require a credit card to pledge): https://www.patreon.com/Fringecrow

New Prices actives. Still open for commissions ;)
Posted 10 years agoJust a head's up that the new commission pricelist is now active: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16426252/
I'm currently working on the last commission in my current queue(another dragon TF sequence!) however I just wanted to say I'm still open for commissions :)
In fact, in my current condition I would say that I am pretty much always open for commission so never worry about whether or not I am closed and just contact me. You can always drop me an email at ludovicmercier[at]hotmail.com so we can hash contact and payment detail :)
When the commission will be complete, payment will be handled by me sending you an invoice via email to be paid for via paypal.
So don't be afraid and feel free to always asks :)

Reminder: Commissions prices going up on May 1st
Posted 10 years agoThis is just a reminder that on May 1rst my commission pricelist will be updated with a new accurate list of my current options as well as updated prices to put them back up to date.
Notably affected are the prices for my inks, to reflect changes to the way I do linework which have increased the quality of my output though it now takes me longer to produces lines(which old style is now closer to what I do for sketches).
Current commissions will be grandfathered in and charged at the price they were originally commissioned.

The Big Announcement: Patreon launched!
Posted 10 years agoSo here's the big announcement hinted at yesterday: I am launching a Patreon!
https://www.patreon.com/Fringecrow
There are multiple reasons why I'm doing this. One, obviously, is additional revenues. I don't want to get into details but... every little bits help.
There's also the hope that, eventually, this might free me the leeway which could help me start some personal projects that have been kicking around my head for years now.
Another reason though... is for various people who told me they like my art and would like to support me but did not had the money for a full commission or, when they did, lacked actual ideas and thus never could find something to commission me to draw to support me though they wished.
This patreon campaign is specifically for these people and this is why I have options such as a monthly 1$ basic access and 5$ full access to any and all art which I will post on the Patreon.
I -will- continue to post art here and elsewhere, obviously(notably commissions which I will and have completed) however those people who wishes to support my Patreon campaign will have access to exclusive sketches and pieces and the opening to commission types exclusive to my Patreon campaign(for now, limited to cardboard sketches but more options might open up as I practices different traditional mediums).
Included will be fantasy, furry and transformation(with a bias toward werecreatures, obviously) art of my creation.
Already, I've posted a sketch available even for 1$ backers to peruse.
So, for all of those which support my work this Patreon is for you.
Advisory warning: as is now with my commission artwork, be wary some of the content might be fetish in nature.

Traditional Art and No Computer Sunday!
Posted 10 years agoAs already written under this pic: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/16369875/
To try to make a tradition of last Sunday, I'll be having a "Traditional Art and No computer Sunday".
I'll be actually uploading this on a variety of venue and galleries so if you're interested in one, be quick! I'll be taking those commissions on a first come/first served basis.
If it interests anyone here, my only request would be to have a detailed description or reference images that I can easily print tonight for reference tomorrow. That way, if I can put print such description or reference images tonight when I return from work I will be able to work tomorrow without having to turn out my computer and thus avoid potential distractions from my artwork.
Again, if you're interested, reserve your slot quick! I'll be closing requests Saturday 10pm EST before going to bed.
Just drop me an email at ludovicmercier[at]hotmail.com to reserve a slot :)
Since I will be having a short work shift this Sunday, I'll be taking only two slots rather than three this time around.
As always, slots are 35$ for a single cardboard pic.

Repost -Hugo Awards hijacked by "Rabid Puppies" (no joke)

It's a long article, but if you have any interest at all in SciFi novels and author recognition, you really should read it:
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl.....mp;via=FB_Page
It seems the voting box is effectively being 'stuffed' by a single group of devout followers of John C Wright and Theodore Beale. If even half of what this article says is true, these guys are the most homophobic, islamaphobic, and no-doubt furry-phobic authors I've ever heard of. And it seems they've swept the nominations this year thanks to their White Knights.
I need to read a few more articles on this fiasco before I seriously buy into the whole story, but on the face of it, it's a pathetic example of democracy in action, and an insult to previous winners, one of whom I sorta know and who will likely have a very interesting and amusing journal about it in a week or two: http://ursulavernon.com/ .

Warning: Incoming NSFW commissions.
Posted 10 years agoHere's just a disclaimer I wished to put for my watchers here.
I know my art isn't always the most SFW in the first place. However, I also rarely go beyond pin-up style pics of female characters. This said, after discussing with close friends and fellow artists as well as some others people whose opinions I valued... there will(not might) be case of art that will likely be more NSFW than pinup in the future.
To a degree, this is also bit of also coming to term with stuff I enjoyed but never really could admit to others or myself. About these particular things, though, I will not go into extended details. What I consider my own personal fetishes(and there are for certain, some that were harder to admit to myself than others, amongst other sexuality related details) is a personal matter, and I'd dislike someone to come to me wishing to commissions something and implying that because I like X this should be a work I would like as well.... when it really wouldn't be.
This said, there will be such NSFW subjects in future commissions(and some personal artwork) that will involves nudity, transformation fetish art and also the likes of malesub/femdomme pictures and situations.
I understand this is not everyone's deal, so I wanted to warn people beforehand. Tonight in fact I will be uploading a mid and post TF of an human woman into an herm monstershark hybrid of sort.
Now this said, while I'm finally posting such art, I want people to understand this is a very tentative thing for me. If I find myself feeling overwhelmed by NSFW and porn commissions that go beyond my comfort zone I might find myself deciding to shut down NSFW commissions and art again.
This is something of a decision that took me a while to make so I'd please asks people to understand that.
This is announcement as a result is thus a warning to those who might be unwilling to see NSFW content that there will be some of such in the future(though I try to tag my art properly), some of it perhaps of the weirder and more fetishes-specific kind even. As a result it is perfectly understandable if you decide to unwatch me.
At the same time... this is also a plea to those who enjoy such art to also understand this is still something I am still trying to feel comfortable with. So please don't overwhelm me with creepy comments/requests and so on, as I still hesitated a great deal when it came to trying come to term with posting such subjects.
Push me too much and I will go back to posting these only to my close friends on my private twitter and communication venues.

Update! And commissions
Posted 10 years agoJust an update as an head's up. Basically, recently completed a big commission, a comic sequence which I'm now in the process of resizing for FA prior to posting.
As I'm doing this, I am also in the process of doing the same for some personal practice pieces which I felt might be worth posting as well while I complete current commissions.
First announcement.
As for commissions themselves... my queue's taken a bit of a hit obviously as I completed recent works, however I still have a couple to go on and complete.
This said, while this week is busy with printing paperwork for taxes and the like, I also find myself with my hours cut at work which, at least in the short to middle term, will leave me with more time to produces commission artwork.
As a result, I am still officially open for commissions!.
If you are interested, just send me a note!
Currently in my queue, amongst others, are
Crystala and
Onom
Prices update forewarning!(tentatively incoming May 1rst)
This is just a tentative forewarning that I will be trying to update my price come the 1rst of May. This will see, normally, a small 5 to 10$ increase for lineworks commissions.
These changes will not be enacted before May 1rst at the earliest and will normally come only with a new and up to date commissions pricesheet submission for an up to date reference on the type of commissions I will take on.

Happy Easter/Eggs&chocolate day!

Preliminary announcement
Posted 10 years agoCommissions are progressing.
Just completed a major one that was in my way that I might post tonight or tomorrow when I have more time(that is, when I'm not minutes away from going to work).
On another note(I'll elaborate more on this in future journals) I'm about to possibly find myself with more time for commissions soon, so there will be more about that in a future journal.

New art posted, more coming and open for more.
Posted 10 years agoAs watchers have seen, I've posted a couple of the most recently completed commissions.
In fact I'm still currently in the process of working on a couple more going from a digital painting, character design image and an interesting TF commission.
This are busy, which's good. :)
This said, if you are interested in commissioning anything still feel free to contact me!

Phew, there's that. Incoming art!
Posted 10 years agoJust a bit of a head's up to announce I've cleared a couple of fairly major commissions, so you folks can expect a fair bit of art coming up.
On the menu: a bunch of sketches commissions completed since a bit. I might simply group them all in a single picture for ease of posting. As I must admit not necessarily being fond of spamming my galleries with posts of work that are only sketches. So that feels like the best compromise between actually making these available for watchers and not crowding the gallery with them.
Amongst these will be a sketch werehyena sequence for
Nothere
Also coming is a morrigi fanart character for :dragonsergal: that was really pleasing to work with, a male(with mild nudity so you folks are warned) lion character ink for an anonymous commissioner as well as a traditional art sequence for Lucern on Deviantart.
At the same time, I've been conversing and discussing with a lot of friends since many years and I'm slowly considering whether or not to finally post online some of my own fetish art pieces. This is something I'm very hesitant to do as on one hand I do have to admit that such pieces exists and which has been a rough thing to admit to myself that I might have nonstandard interests.
Right now, my big hesitation as I'm also considering what content I want to showcase on my galleries(both in term of themes but also quality) I am just undecided whether it would be better to post this on my gallery here or create an After-Dark account for that reason.
However, even if I such art here chances are that while I might take more fetish commissions than in the past I most likely still would be very choosy as to what commissions I will take when it comes to fetishes as well as whom I will take such commissions from.
(long story told short: there's more chances of me taking a fetish commission if it involves fetishes I relate to and/or is someone I also know from outside the websites which host galleries).

Status update
Posted 10 years agoShort story told short: Got busy. Not many but nonetheless pretty beefy workshif due to a couple of reasons. I did complete some commissions but sofar they are mostly sketch deals which I'm not always very happy to post as-is. In the meanwhile, I'm tackling a paid of rather large ones. Also hit a bit of a semi-burnout/lack of focus deal which I'm slowly starting to believe is related to lack of sleep which has been rather prevalent lately.
In any ways, for a TL:DR things got busy but I'm still chipping away at things and should have stuff ready to post here soon.

Considering(very late) going to Furnal Equinox: Who else is?
Posted 10 years agoLike the title says, I've been considering going to Furnal Equinox in Toronto, so I was wondering who else is going?
My biggest uncertainty right now though is funds so I'm also considering the possibility of rooming with someone else(I haven't found/do not know any yet though) if I do.

Taking all commissions!
Posted 10 years agoGosh, what it's been since my last journal? Two weeks?
Longer than I would have liked, anyway.
I'll get over it later, but it's been busy.
Lots of art was done. Some private to be posted on limited access places(On Weasyl behind my friends filter and a private Twitter account) but others that will be posted here including recent commissions.
Having a couple of money-related things coming up too. And while my job should be able to pay for them... there's s couple of things I'd also want to afford. Furnal Equinox being one, though the window of opportunity is getting narrower and narrower.
For this reason, I'm opening to all commissions coming my way. No queue, just a list on my googledoc where I'll be jotting down any and all commissions and progresses for me to start. For this reason I'm trying to set myself a deadline of a full month for all commissions I get from the day they are commissioned for each of them to be completed.
Loosely, I'm giving myself a deadline to start them within two weeks of being commissioned, and another deadline to complete a given picture within two weeks of it being started. So a one month deadline total.
For this, I'm trying to clear current commission I have left and then immediately set to work on an updated commissions reference image so people will have an easy time seeing the different levels offered and deciding.
Very simply said, my goal is to basically get as many commissions as I and hopefully finishes them as fan as I can despite my job schedule so I can put as much to the side as I can. Even if I might not be able to attend Furnal Euinox, it will still be useful with future expense. And, if enough is made, might be put aside for other potential events the likes of FE.
This said, subjects that I will take on will be subject to approval. Mild stuff like general furry, fantasy or science-fiction art are very much no problem.
Generally, most TF are acceptable but my forte is really werecreatures art and I must admit having a big fondness for werecritters in fantasy setting since my Dungeon and Dragons days.
Other fetishes are an harder thing as the only one, and that is only a recent development, that I somewhat work with in my art is relatively light BDSM(specifically female dominant).
If any of this interest you, just hit me in a note so that we can discuss commissions subjects and pricing and I will add you to my commission spreadsheet.
State of the Crow: Where the hell have the last two weeks been?
Really. But, seriously, they've been busy. Stuff at works have been crazy hectic. Manager's had some very much surprise family issues he hadn't expected. Like his son discovering he actually had a grandfather. Which grandfather(my manager's own father), which my manager wasn't in the best relationship with, sounding like he may have to be unplugged from life support soon.
I didn't press on for detail as it was not my business to.
However, in practice we found ourselves undermanned and on a couple of occasions I had to cover shifts for my managers at hours or day that I normally don't. It's been rough, though sofar I'm getting an handle of it while keeping able to continue artwork(albeit slower than I would have liked but still meeting my self-imposed deadlines).
I have no idea when things will normalize again but I figure they should start to after this current week. For now I'll try to do what I can while continuing work on art commissions and the likes when home.

State of the crow
Posted 10 years agoSo, bit of an update.
The short story? Current status: sick but recovering.
The longer story is my current part-time job was at a grocery which saw quite the crazy hectic schedule over both week of christmas and the new year, which left me little time to rest. This, and most likely combined with various form of stress, have eventually led me to catch a cold on new year's eve which I'm still sadly struggling with. Productivity kind of went down the drain slightly as a result.
Thankfully, I had the time to complete a large(ish) commission which I should be posting after I'm done with this journal, a 3-step weredragon TF sequence.
In other news, as some already know, I've aquired a Surface Pro 3 tablet(review in 2 words: worth it) which I've produced most of my recent artwork on with. There very much is something to be said about portability for an art tool like this one. On another note, I've begun to try to form an habit of giving myself short art practice periods, notably through the use
I'm also now working on a pair of new commissions, but I'm still open for more for those interested.
For more informations, though my queue is not up to date, you can look here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13912381/
On another note, due to the logistic of managing commissions queue on three different sites, I've been trying to set up a mean by which I could have a single unified queue online that I could link to on all my galleries.

Happy holidays!
Posted 10 years agoReposted from my Weasyl account: https://www.weasyl.com/journal/7368.....happy-holidays
Just wanted to wish happy holidays to everyone on here while I still have some time before leaving for work today. With current schedules I'm a tad busier than I normally am, however I've still plugged away at commissions as I could.
This said, for a day or two, I will be mainly working on a couple of gifts I wanted to complete for holidays(and friends, of course)'s sake.
After that, I will be returning to my usual schedules(and hopefully, a less busy job once the holidays have truly passed).

Surface Pro 3 and news
Posted 11 years agoSo recently thanks to my additional income from my job I have recently purchased myself a bit of an early Christmas present to myself.
Namely, since a while my laptop had begun to reach a stayed where it could clearly be said to have seen much better days than it once had. And though very efficient(for my needs at the time), my monoprice has long proven to really not be the most portable of art tablets when traveling around.
So... I decided to kill two birds with one stone and got myself a Surface Pro 5.
Having just installed Manga Studio 5 on it and now being in the process of I importing all my Frenden custom brushes, I must say I am not disappointed so far. I'll still keep my monopole for artwork on my desktop, but it's pretty much clear the surface should easily replace the encumbering combo that my monoprice and ailing laptop were proving to be when traveling around or just generally parting outside my work room.
I'm doing some art tests right now, having finished importing all my custom brushes, but should soon jump onto new commissions ASAP.
This said, talking about commissions, I'm still open for more. Just drop me a note if you're interested ^^

Streaming up to 4pm EST!
Posted 11 years agoAnd we're back to streaming again : )
https://www.picarto.tv/live/channel.....watch=Ludocrow . I'm working on the second part of a TF sequence for
Siegmar for today. This might continue on tomorrow, but if I somehow finish it today I will be open for further on-demands commissions.
Remember, on Picarto you can sign in to get notifications via email as for when I'll be streaming!
As usual, I'll be streaming up to unil around 4pm EST, after which I generally need to tend to various things around the house.
Until then, come in and enjoy!

New job, where to find me, streaming
Posted 11 years agoSo streraming has been pretty sparse(as in, nonexistant) this last week as I've found myself a new job. It's not in drafting(due to current lack of job in the field in my area) but for now it's a part-time job that still adds some amount of stability to my income.
This said I do intend to continue on streaming, possibly with an announcement coming tomorrow or saturday, after I get my schedule for the next week, telling what days I will be streaming to continue current commissions( such as one for
Siegmar and others currently undergoing discussion).
On another note, as a remainder, here's other places you can find me at:
https://www.weasyl.com/~ludocrow My Weasyl account, frequently updated with an occasional exclusive(thanks to the content rating and filtering system there, my more fetish artwork might eventually be posted mostly exclusively there)
http://ludomercier.deviantart.com/ My deviantart account, also frequently updated due to commissioners I have there.
And finally, though more minor, here's my twitter https://twitter.com/Ludovic0006
I tend to be a frequent participant in the #werewolfwednesday and #drawawerewolf day hashtags there so I figured that might interest a couple of folks. The later even has it's own tumblr: http://drawawerewolf.tumblr.com/
