I don't like pointless journals taking up half my profile.

Alright, bitches
General | Posted 14 years agoI might be back. I don't really know. I'm bad at the whole anthro thing now, I just like animals and working on actual human anatomy and shit.
Still.
Let's try this one again, now with better animal knowledge. No Google, no Wikipedia, no anything.
IF YOUR FURSONA WAS:
a general airborne species: Yellow-headed caracara
a general aquatic species: Blue lipped sea krait
a general invertebrate: Avicularia versicolor (Antilles pinktoe tarantula)
an amphibian: Hmm, I'm not great with amphibians. Axolotl as a cheat here.
a bird: ... yellow headed caracara? Alternatively, pennant-winged nightjar.
a canine: Blanford's fox
a caniform carnivore (excluding canines): Marbled polecat <3
a dinosaur: Graciliraptor
a feliform carnivore (excluding felines): Banded palm civet orrr ring tailed mongoose orrr brown hyena
a feline: Colocolo, caracal, sand cat, dinofelis... I dunno, I like cats too much.
an insect/arachnid: Tarantula again, or blue spotted charaxes butterfly.
a marsupial: Antipoline wallaroo
a microoganism: Oh, crap.
a mythical species: Bakeneko. Actually, I'm probably going to keep this one as it fits my "essentially feline but can't stick with any species ever for too long".
a primate: I'm bad at primates too. A tamarin or marmoset of some sort.
a reptile: If not the krait, ummm... bush viper? The red phase ones are gorgeous.
a rodent or lagomorph: Prevost's squirrel, or a Luzon cloud rat whatever they're called.
an ungulate: I'm bad at ungulates. Tufted deer? I like the fangdeer.
a mammal in a group not listed above: I dunno, you covered all of Carnivora so I'm pretty happy. Still, chiroptera? Afrotheria? Xenatheria? Monotremes? What have I missed?
Still.

What does my art style say about me? (meme)
General | Posted 16 years agoWhat do you, as the audience, think that my art style says about me personally?
What type of feeling do you get from it, and what kind of feeling does that give you about me?
(These next two questions assume you actually know me, so you may skip these last two.)
Do you think it describes my personality well?
If not, what do you think would reflect it better?
I thought this'd be interesting, as I'm sure plain colours gives off something, I'm just not sure what.

Fursona Meme
General | Posted 16 years ago1. What animal is your fursona?
The love child of a cat and a rough collie (and by love child I mean a kid born in wedlock).
2. If it wasn't this animal, what would it be?
Ehh, I've been identifying with agile arboreal mammals recently - squirrels, martens, red pandas... I wonder what that's about. I nearly picked a fluffy blue dragon or a sabre-toothed cat ages ago.
3. Got any pics that you like? (Of either the animal or your fursona itself.)
HERE IS A PICTURE OF MY DADDY.
HERE IS MY MOTHER.
AND THIS IS ME. Love, Google.
4. When did you know that this animal was your fursona?
I walked from the anime fandom with my yellow catgirl alter-ego into the furry fandom pretty easily. I've always been compared to a cat (apparently I spent two weeks as a small child pretending to be one - I can clearly remember successfully getting my aunt to give me a saucer of milk), I'm not going to complain. The collie half appeared when I decided I wanted to tie in my family to my fursona, and realised my father was never going to be a cat. But it's okay, his favourite dog breed is mine too, and it has pretty close colours to my already established appearance.
5. What does this animal mean to you?
Cat is my independent streak/complex and authority issues, or something. I don't know, this is one of those cliché "the animal chose me!" moments so I'm making it up. I 'spose the collie represents when I realised I wasn't such an antisocial bastard as I thought I was and actually quite liked people. Also, I like both. They're cute fluffy animals. Isn't that enough?
6. What qualities do you feel you have in common with this animal?
Hm, I think I already answered a bit of this in the question above. Erm. I'm practically a carnivore. I like to think I'm intelligent - and you know how collies are supposed to be destructive when they're not intellectually stimulated? I wonder if the fact that they're both domesticated means something. Probably that I'm uninventive.
7. In what ways do you try to become your fursona? Do you dress up, write stories, draw pictures, etc.?
... try to become? I'm quite happy being a part of her and using her as an online face, thanks.
8. Would you want to physically become your fursona in real life?
No. Well, it'd be cool if everyone suddenly became some anthro animal... and there'd be no huge fuss over shaving... but no. Think of the plugholes.
9. You're changing into your fursona! What's the first thing you're going to do?
Indulge my inner TF fetishist. Poke the fluff. Hug the tail. Freak out and wonder how I'm going to cope with being a humanoid yellow kitty monster.

Oh good, FA. Now fix my laptop.
General | Posted 16 years agoHi FA. I was starting to wonder if you were actually contained within my laptop, what with you breaking at moreorless the same time. I'm glad you're not, because I am too poor to get my laptop fixed at present, I am already wondering if I can actually pay rent this month.
The point of this: If I owe you art, you're going to have to wait a bit. Sorry.

3. I have to do 10 days worth of work/volunteering with animals by September or I do not go to college. I work full time wahey -suicude-

General | Posted 16 years agoNow that I've actually got me a commissioner in the shape of
possumfox, I should probably get off my big yellow tush and do something about my slowly building to-do list of art.
Damn you, work/housesitting/having my own place.
(In other news, prices of commissions have been lowered, and I'm always accepting trades. Check them out on the link at the bottom there.)

Pokemon - Sponsored by I CAN'T FIND THE NUM LOCK
General | Posted 16 years agoIf I keep this up I can move onto bigger things... like LiveJournal.
I preordered Pokemon Platinum, swayed by two packs of cards and a fluffy Mamoswine. I originally wasn't going to get it, but considering how much I loved the Battle Zone (or whatevs it was) in Emerald and the fact that I'm in dire need of box space, it shouldn't be a wasted investment. Besides, it's something different to distract me from endless Pokedex filling.
I'm far more excited about Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Like a ridiculous amount of others, I consider Generation II the best lot of 'em, and Silver was the first Pokemon game I owned (even if I managed to lose it after three weeks).
... fuck this, I have nothing to say. I'm going to make couscous and see if anyone wants to do anything since I got out of work stupidearly.

College. Again?
General | Posted 16 years agoPreviously in my life:
I left school at 16 with enough grades to do a BND in Fine Art at college. I dropped out in the first year because I couldn't cope with the workload/found qualifications to show you can draw really stupid.
I went on to do an NVQ in Graphic Design. Had an argument with the teacher fairly late in the course (two days before it finished...) because he insisted I'd never be a good graphic designer. Left, obviously. Wanker.
Bummed around for several months. Got a part-time job. Have been there nearly a year.
Right.
I've had two years off from education, but I want to get back in. I'm thinking of doing a course in Animal Care. Three days a week, one year, equivalent to two or three A-levels, accepted by a fair few unis if I feel like going that far. The place is 15 miles away, which is doable. "19-25 year olds studying for their first full Level 3 course may be eligible for 100% reduction in tuition fees." Excellent. "Students in receipt of certain means tested benefits may be entitled fo 100% reduction on tuition fees." I have that too.
Why? I'm fucking bored. I'm not doing anything with my life. Before I started thinking about this, I noticed I had absolutely no plans. Was I genuinely thinking of having a seasonal job and living half on benefits all my life? Was I going to be leeching off my SO? No thank you.
I like animals (nuuhhh, I hate them, that's why I'm a furfag -rollseyes-). I have a fixation on animal breeding and genetics. But as proved by my previous encounters with college, I have issues with education. I'll have to fix those.
I don't like people telling me what to do.
But my superiors at work can, and I don't mind - why?
I keep work time and play time very separate. I'll work well enough in an educational building, but I never did homework/coursework.
This is mostly a practical course, so I have less to worry about there. For what I have to do... I can do little bits on the train ride there and back. I have a flatmate who works as a teacher and will beat me around the head/bribe me. My girlfriend will be doing a higher course at uni and she'll be doing work - why can't I? Guilt trip, hee.
Look guys I can write lots of things. That's practice too. I can so do this. c:

Yes, I am very boring.
General | Posted 16 years ago#1. Do you and your "fursona" look alike?
Despite the obvious "wtf I am not yellow", yes. She's my height, width, measurements, hair texture (well, maybe not quite as curly... don't want to be a rex kitty), piercings... etc, etc.
#2. Do you and your "fursona" share attires?
Yes, though we wear different colours as would suit our skins/fur/hair/dinosaur better - I dress winter, she dresses autumn. Casual or corset.
#3. Do you share the same sexuality as your fursona?
Yes, presumably.
#4. If you hadn’t already made your fursona look like you, if you would to change how he/she looked like to make him/her look more like you, how would you think he/she would look like?
Make her a sphynx cat.
#5. Did you work hard to develop your fursona? What is the (brief) history of your fursona?
She developed over time from a single scribbly drawing and always had the same general appearance, though her species has been changed regularly. She's been crosses of sand cats, birmans and turkish vans at various points since I tried to give her a species/breed.
#6. Do you and your fursona share relationship status?
Yes, she's in a relationship with a mouse girl with far too many similarities to my girlfriend to be coincidental.
#7. Do you find yourself jealous or upset if you get paired with someone you don’t like or your partner does?
I've never been in this situation, sorry. But I wouldn't try it.
#8. How would you like your character not to be used?
Haha, I'm a bit of a prude, sry guys - nothing at all that needs to be put in the adult category, and I'll only be in romantic couple pics with my mate (unless it can be passed off as pisstake flirting, and I like you.)
#9. What’s your fursona’s specialty?
That's a bit vague.
#10. At a score of 1-10 how much are you and your fursona alike?
27

General | Posted 17 years agoOh god it looks really tempting today. I want to run around in a giant animal suit and use it for fundraising
and there's this little rat boy who's all like "dress up as mee! I have barely any character design so you won't get pissed off trying to find the exact shade of greyblue because you haven't worked that out yet! :D"
I blame Comic Relief.
Or the fact that I've just dyed my hair blueblack and feel the need to project it onto a character that isn't Fu because it just wouldn't suit her.

GOOD THINGS
General | Posted 17 years agoAres the ratty had his tumour removed, and despite the stitches coming undone, he's mostly all healed and back in the main cage so he'll stop bloody escaping and Logan doesn't go nuts trying to gnaw through the bars to get to him.
And something that seemed too self-pitying to whinge about last week - my mother had a lump in her breast, and we thought it was a cancer relapse what with it being in the same place and all. It was a cyst. :)
