So...
Posted 9 years agoIt's truly been a while. While talking to
WolfeMasters I've come to realize that I haven't been involved in the fandom at all as of the past two year. Nothing significant has happened, barring a change in my career path, though I did manage to get a nicer job. I've missed a the fandom and hope to be able to participate in a con next year. The plan is to hit up Anthro Con with my husband
NeoLeo and Mr. Masters. 2016 started off with a load great things for my family and despite loosing some beloved musical artists, I hope it continues to bring positive changes for everyone.

Yep.
Posted 12 years ago Still alive, still cooking and still going to school. My husband recent found a full-time job, so I'm no longer working at the hospital, which is awesome. I will also be able to attend school full-time now, so I can transfer sooner. I'm working as a cook at an assisted living facility and aside from some semi-shady things with the company, I'm enjoying it. I'm only cooking for 50-70 people as opposed to 190-270 people, which makes things easier. I can focus on building flavors and I don't have to worry about special diets(mech soft, dysphasia, puree. etc..). I can just focus on making good presentable food. I also don't have to get up at 2:30am and don't have to wait at a bus stop at 3:30am by myself anymore. I'm actually able to sleep most of the night like a normal person. :D
We'll also soon have a german shepherd pup running around with the cats. I'm super excited, we talked to a couple of breeder and we found one to put a deposit on. I'm gonna be training him in Schutzhund and I'm hoping he does well, barring me holding him back, lol. He's scheduled to be born late spring/early summer and ready in the fall. So right not I'm slowly piecing together puppy supplies, preparing for Further Confusion, and making sure I get a solid understanding of the math course I"m taking.
Looking forward to 2014, 2013 came with a lot of heart break for me. I lost my dad suddenly, then my great uncle, and both of my sisters had life threatening emergencies. However we're still blessed and pressing on. I just have a feeling 2014 will be a good year.

Semester Over!
Posted 12 years agoFinally, I don't have to have anymore 16 hour days for a while. I'm very happy with my performance this semester, especially considering I've been taking 2 classes, working the 4am shift for 40-48 hours a week. To be quite honest I was starting to burn out towards between school, work, and the thing with my dad. However I stuck it out and have acquired two 'A's as a result. I'm sure this will be boosting my gpa up to 3.0, which is still low but closer to my goal.
FC is less than a month away, I'm so excited. Plus I could use a week away from work.

So...
Posted 13 years agoMid-terms went over great, I got an 'A' on my algebra test, and I'll be getting the results of that tomorrow. I know I passed my Philosopy mid-term, it's just a question on whether I got the 'A' I wanted or a B. All in all things are going well academic wise. I should be set to transfer in another year in a half. I might just stay the two years and get my pre-med requirements out of the way, it'll be cheaper that way.
For the past week and a half was just in a bad spot. I had recently got a letter from my father's cell-mate that he had suffered a massive stroke. However I didn't know how bad it was. He has been unconscious in a hospital for several weeks. No one there had contacted us. Not one word, had it not been this guy I would have still been waiting on my father's return letter, though to be honest I started to feel off about it. Apparently he's in a vegetable state, and they want my mom to make a decision whether to keep him on life support or to let him go.
It took about a week just to be able to talk about it without crying. We weren't super close but we were just beginning to start a new relationship. I wanted him in my life and now as quick as it all began it seems to be ending. My only comfort is that I did get to exchange a few letters with him, I regret not being able to hear his voice. Heh, I'm tearing up as I write this... I'm more concerned about my mom, she wasn't currently speaking to him. I can only imagine the regret and pain of losing your mate of 22-25 some odd years. My beloved and I have only been together for 9 years and only married for 3 of those 9 years, I already can't imaging losing him. He's been a big comfort along with prayer, as I am dealing with this. I'm lucky to have him.
Work has been work. I had to take two days off this past pay period, to my check it looking kind of funny, luckily I had some sick days to use up and I told my boss about my fathers situation and she allowed me to use up some of my sick-time. It's getting toward the time of year when we get busy with all of the Christmas parties. So, a lot of catering and over-time, none of which I can really do until after the first week of December(after finals).
With all this going on I'm looking forward to FC this coming January. I could use the week long break from school and work. Our room, transportation, and registration paid for. Now we just need spending and food money, which is the easy part. Super excited as it's been a few years since we were able to hit up a furry con.

Update Tiemz!
Posted 13 years agoSo, things have been going well. Work is work and I've been pulling in a steady 32-40 hours a week with some overtime sprinkled here and there. They're going through their own drama with another cook there, and I tend to stay away from that.
School is going excellently. My algebra class has been pretty awesome, and I'm glad I decided to take it as a brush up. I've also been enjoying my philosophy class, so much as I'm going to be taking an ethics class in the fall 2013 probably. I'm also really enjoying my philosophy professor, he makes the subject entertaining and engages us to contribute to the lecture. Looking to finish this semester with another 4.0, which would be a blessing. I'm gonna buckle down and start studying my philosophy material more seriously. We only have two exams for that class, a mid-term and a final. Both are worth 50% of our grades, there's no wiggle room to mess up, so I'm going to study a bit harder.
The husband and I have out travel plans squared away for FC 2013 already, all that's left is registration and we're good to go! I already managed to get approved for the time off, so everything's looking pretty good. I'm very excited about having the week and even more excited about hittin' up another FurCon as it's been my favorite con so far. We're rooming with a good friend out ours and another person who seems pretty chill. Now to save up some food and spending money.
I also commissioned new icons for me and the spouse. :D

AX 2012
Posted 13 years agoAX was pretty awesome, of course we were only there for one day, lol. Unfortunately my brother in law had to work the entire con, so we just enjoys our younger siblings company. Lots of MineCraft and Tales of Symphonia were had, along with much fooding and sugar eating. :D
Now that AX is over, it's time to start putting money away for our books for the semester. Unfortunately we both have to come out of pocket for both of our books, which mean the hubby and I are both picking up extra shifts at work. The semester doesn't start until the end of August so we have still have some time.
This semester I'm taking more math(there will always be more math, lol), intro to Philosophy, and Personal & Community Health Issues. Which means I'm almost carrying a full course load, while working 40+ hours a week. Hopefully I can get my hours reduced, as I would like to at least carry a full-time course load.
Work is going pretty good, I'm currently on vacation. When I left the convection oven and toaster had crapped out and one of our cooks was recovering from being injured. She was released off of light duty this week, so hopefully things will work out and she'll be able to work her shifts.

Not dead, whooo!
Posted 13 years agoSo I've been rather occupied for the last two months, between work and school. Work has been going well, though one of our cooks was out for knee surgery. So I've been picking up the slack along with the new guy. The extra money has been nice and working the AM shift a week straight has confirmed what I've already been suspecting. So I'm probably going to start searching for a job that offers shifts that are more conductive to me actually being able to sleep.
School is fine, the semester is winding down and we're preparing for our final exam before the summer. I'm currently sitting at an A and would like to keep it. I'm hoping to pick up a math class over the summer so I can start working through my pre-reqs for my major. Funny how no matter what majors look interesting I can't seem to get away from engineering(specifically bio/chem engineering) everything I find something interesting I'm always led back two those two majors. Heck UCR the university I'm doing my TAG with offers a chemical engineering with a bio eng. option, and that's sounding pretty good right now. I just need to work on my GPA some more to keep competitive. I also need to work on my writing, it's been a while since I've taken english, and I need to take one more critical thinking and writing course to satisfy my transfer requirements.
With the semester winding down this also means that Anime Expo is slowly creeping up. I'm looking forward to this con since it's my first anime convention. My sister and bother-in-law are staying with us during the con, since it's not far from the house. We're also planning to attend FC, of course we'd have to find two more roommates to split the room costs with. I do know that I can get the time off for sure. Looking forward to it since I missed the last two and it would be nice to see the convention center it's held in. The last time the mate and I attended it's was still at the Double-Tree, lol.

Still chugging along.
Posted 13 years agoWork is fine, aside from the usual kitchen drama. Why do people manufacture drama when there is none? It doesn't really matter.
I'm looking forward to starting the semester. I saw my counselor today and we mapped out my classes for the next semester, because I work so many hours, I can't comfortably take more than 2-3 classes a semester. I want to slowly work my way to three classes. I don't want to pile up the units too soon and end up failing, which would kill my chances for being accepted into professional school.
We're still preparing for the upcoming cons, we're taking the entire weekend of Anime Expo off so we have to save to make up the difference in rent, since we'd come up short otherwise.

Vacation get!
Posted 13 years agoWell, not really since I'm still working, lol. The semester ended last week and I finished the class with an 'A', which is awesome. Work is going well, though the hours have picked up due to the holiday parties folks are paying us to cater. So that means overtime! <3 The boss seems to be in a better mood as well, so things are going relatively well at work.
I managed to register
Neoleo, and I for Anime Expo 2012 and I'm excited already. I also brought my sister a 4 day pass as a Christmas present. So, now we just need to save some spending cash and work on our costumes. We don't have to get a hotel room since we stay very close to the convention, so that saves us a ton of cash, though I'm sure it'll be a pain commuting back and forth, but well worth the 300+ dollars saved.
I managed to register

Grades and other stuff.
Posted 14 years agoRight now I have a high 'B' in my math class, I still have two more exams before my finals. I should be able to raise that B+ to an A.
Work is fine, it seems they're finally letting me take the position of the relief cook. This means I have a steady 32 hr a week position now. I can finally start saving cash again and maybe able to hit up Anime Expo 2012 and FC 2013 depending on my class schedule.
Anime Expo is a sure thing since I live next to the convention center, I won't have to stay in a hotel, nor will I have to buy expensive food. So that will work out.
FC would be a bit more difficult, but since I literally have a year away I can just put a little away each more out of my "fun money" stash and just take the bus up to San Jose and split the room cost with my partner, friend and we'll probably have to find a fourth person to stay with us.
On of my immediate goals is to finish off the semester with an 'A', purchase our con registration, start working on our costumes, and start putting cash in our emergency account. Of course we'll have to find another bank to open said account at. -_-

Pokemon get! Oh, and school/work stuff...
Posted 14 years agoTwo of my classes were canceled since not enough people signed up for them, so all I'm left with is math. It's cool, the other two classes weren't super important, but it would have been helpful. This also means I don't have to be at my school until 4pm, so I can work the morning shift again. It also means I'm getting up at 2:30am again, huzzah. -_- Well money is money. I'll be making a bit more cash while I'm looking for another job and attending class.
On another note, I picked up a copy of pokemon White and Soul Silver. I'm enjoying both immensely can't wait to abuse that RNG, lol.

Gumbo Get!
Posted 14 years agoI finally started slowly piecing together the ingredients to make some Creole Seafood Gumbo. I'm freakin' ecstatic. Right now, I just bought some chicken and shrimp. I need to pick up some crab(blue, king, snow), Lobster, Sausage(mild and spicy), spices, and the veg(just the trinity). Then I will need my granpa's supervision. >.> He insists since it's his recipe from back home. Good gumbo is expensive to make. D:
>.> So...
Posted 14 years ago I still live, shocking I know. I'm balancing my boot-leg job, along with school, and volunteering at a hospital. I'm still only working part-time(16 hours/week >.>), and I am looking for a replacement but I'm not expecting anything. It would be nice to get a solid year of employment there, but it all depends on them.
The volunteering hasn't even technically started yet, I'm still jumping through their hoops. I'll know on Monday if I've even been accepted into the program. Then I need to get vaccinated for Chicken Pox since I've never had it and bring proof of my TB test, as well as getting a CPR cert from the AHA. -_- So this will be a busy couple of weeks, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. This program is highly respected and will look good on my application, and I'll get to help out sick people, as well as the hospital staff.
School is going well, all of my classes are set up for the fall semester and I'm ichin' to start. I'll be taking a few seminars and math this semester, so overall it's a pretty light semester. I'm glad I decided to see a counselor, since she sat down with me and helped me pick my classes for this and next semester.
Art production has all be stopped, of course not that I'm not stressed out I'm starting to draw again, and I suck, lol. So it's time to start grinding out the line art so I can get better.
On another note since money is tight, we(the husband and I) have decided to attend Anime Expo 2012. We literally live 15 mins from the convention center, so no need for a hotel room and we can take the bus up there. It would also be nice to do something for ourselves, since we've been working without any breaks for the past year and a half to keep a roof over our heads and things finally seem to be easing up. I'd like to cosplay there, so I've decided to make Oki(wolf form) from Okami since I have all of the fur colors for it, I also have a ton of foam left too. Right now I'm still collecting decent art of him so I can make my ref sheet.

Blagh!
Posted 15 years agoI'm doing ok. Still in the process of moving, though we had to detour from it a bit due to the husband's tickets needing to get paid, but it's in motion.
Work is ok, though the head cook is a PITA. So, since I'm not one to tolerate being talked down to and belittled. So, I'm looking for another job already, lol.
I have an interview for next Tuesday for Whole Foods, which I'd prefer over my current job, as there's no room for advancement, benefits, sick days, or any hope of being paid over 8.50 here. The Whole Foods gig starts you out at 9 bucks an hours, and the seem to like their employees benefit wise.
I also plan on attending summer session and fall semester at the local community college as well and my current employer doesn't seem to want to work with me and give me consistent days off.

Full-time Job Ahoy!
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm finally employed, actually I've been employed for a month and full-time to boot. I'm working as a cook for an adult care community. The hours are cool, the pay is slightly above minimum wage, but it's something to do while I'm working toward my B.S.
So, I'm officially out of my debt hole, and I won't be homeless, which means I can begin to take care of other commitments that I violated. -_- *ie my prolonged fursuit commission* Well, I hope the maker's still willing to finish, if not I'd be willing to recommission it, as I love their style and she's one of the people I feel can do Babael the most justice.

Hola!
Posted 16 years agoSo, I'm alive(obviously :p). I've lost my scanner and I'm not in a financial position to buy another one. Until then I probably start posting the stuff I've been making in school since that is an art form to. I'll probably specialist in baking and patisserie instead of culinary arts since I like making the sweets much more.
Tagged *grumbles*
Posted 18 years agoSo I finally got around to it.
The 1st player of this starts with the topic weird habits/facts/dislikes about yourself; and people who get tagged must write in their journals about their 6 weird habits/facts/dislikes as well as state this rule clearly.
"In the end, you need to choose the next 6 people to be tagged and list to their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says you're tagged"
6 of my habits/facts/dislike:
1. I have a chocolate, ketchup, and sea food obsession.
2. I'm quiet.(It seems to disturb people)
3. I'm a video game whore
4. I want a pet chicken(I don't know why but people find this odd)
5. I don't want kids. (This also disturbs people)
6. I procrastinate a lot more than I should.
Now I choose.

Bwahahaha!
Well, lets see.
Posted 18 years agoNothing much has been happening. I've been working, playing video games(pokemon in particular), spending time with Neo, and doing some fursuit stuff. I'm also in the process of commissioning a fursuit from the talented ArtSlave. Her website is www.artslave.biz .
Umm, Update?
Posted 18 years agoNothing much has really been going on, been working on an art trade and some other stuff for myself. I've been working on my fursuit, I have the frame for my first head almost done, the second one will just be using the balaclava, I'm hoping to have the first head and the body suit done by halloween.
Irked
Posted 18 years agoEh...feeling generally crappy today. I think I have a sinus infection, it isn't as bad as it usually gets, but man, does it drain every drop of energy I have. I really want to do some fursuit stuff, but I just don't have the desire to, in fact all I want to do is lay down and sleep. I've been taking my medicine on time so hopefully it'll get better. I have been working on an art trade today, I finally got it inked, then I messed up on it and now I have to go pick up some tracing paper and transfer it onto another page. I really want it to come out well. *winks at Lunar* Hopefully I can so that tomorrow. I really want to have it done this week.

Summer!
Posted 18 years agoThe semester is over with. *dances* I'm still choosing to go to summer school though, but no more burning myself with hot sodder and listing to my teacher's side stories that have nothing to do with the subject at hand. I can work on my fursuit body next week, since I'm working this weekend. I also bought a book called "The Encyclopedia of the Dog," its awesome lots of anatomy bits, pictures, and descriptions of the different breeds. Now to get one for humans.
Update
Posted 18 years agoWell, Califur has come and gone and I have to say that Califur was an awesome experience. It almost made me sad that I didn't finish my suit. It was nice relaxing in a king sized bed and spending so much time with my kitty and I got to meet alot of furries from a forum that I visit frequently called Furtopia. I was kind of sad to leave and return to school and work. It also has me excited about Further Confusion. Eh, I'll be taking my finals next week and I have a project due this Wednesday. I'm also getting more hours at work so I'll have more money to put up for stuff. I'll also be starting my 'code red' husky suit for a group on LJ called the Soda Pups. So lots of stuff to do.
Tag and update.
Posted 18 years agoLet's see, nothing extravagant has been happening. Spending time with kitty, work, school, and working on my fursuit. I've been playing Twilight Princess and saving up to hopefully start the commission process on a fursuit from my favorite artist. But yeah, that's about it and here is the delightful tag I recieved from WolfeMasters
1.WolfeMasters tagged me.
2. I was tagging for inactivitey.(I'm not dead really!)
3. I have an obsession with butt fluff.
4. I alot of my nonhuman dreams feel more like memories than deams(maybe I should start to write them down)
5. I am almost never human in my dreams.
6. I love bishies.<3
7. I'm almost always male in my dreams.
Thank you Mr. Wolfe.*shakes fist*

New Year!
Posted 18 years agoIt's time to start the new year off with a bang. My resolutions this year are to draw more, do better in school, and to complete at least three complete costumes(whether they be fursuits, cosplays, or both). I look forward to making this year better than last year.
