Good question, I barely remember this past year anyway.
So I got the promotion and LOVED that job, easily my favorite job ever. It sadly did not last long, not because I was fired or anything like that, I left of my own accord because my husband and I moved back up to NY to be with family.
So cue us back in New York, I found another job up here at a vet clinic, and I HATED it. Corporate-owned bullshit that they don't care about the health of animals and only cared to yell at me about our numbers or money as if it wasn't a small clinic in the middle of farm country where it's just a bunch of farmers and their farm dogs and they're trying to get the town off their back for the Rabies vaccine. HM, I wonder why I couldn't sell $400 of product each visit. Dickheads.
Anyway, Ziah and I had a hell of a time selling our GA house for no fault of our own, buyers' finances fell through kinda deal. So it takes a few months but it's finally off our hands and we can search for our new house in NY. We find one, and it takes MONTHS for us to get in. The old owners are an older couple and the husband is in and out of the hospital so they needed us to be flexible, which we were. But it took us 3 months to get the keys. So we paint, move in, and I work on hunting for a new job.
Then, a health problem. My blood sugar keeps dropping to the 40s (for reference 70 is low). I can't seem to get my blood sugar to stabilize unless I'm eating absolutely zero sugar. So I get told it's probably an insulinoma, a tumor that grows on the pancreas and produces excess insulin. So I get bloodwork done and every test I have is pushing me towards the insulinoma. Then I had an ultrasound, and they didn't find a mass but something about my pancreas is wrong. I went to get prior authorization for an MRI and my insurance denied it 3 times. So that's where I'm sitting with that.
I found a new job that I'm hoping I'll like more. I start next week. We'll see.
Otherwise, I started trying my hand at re-texturing an avi for VRC. Struggling with it, but trying something new. It feels nice.Ya girl got a promotion??
Posted 3 years agoSo, two weeks ago I applied for a position at my current job (I'm an EMT for a private ambulance company here in the southeast), and I interviewed this past Friday. I didn't think much of it, they told me they had interviewed like 50 people from inside and outside of the company and have widdled it down to about 10 people they were bringing back in for secondary interviews. I go to the interview and it felt so casual despite meeting with the COO of the company, and the current holder of the position. The interview ended up going super well. The COO really likes me, and the current position holder did as well, they liked my past experience with things in this similar position before, and by the end of it, they informed me I was their strongest candidate. They told me they had two more interviews on Monday so that he'd contact me in the middle of the week to let me know if I got it or not. I got a call this morning from our recruiter who handles these things congratulating me and telling me they chose me for the position. I just signed the offer letter this morning and I could not be any more excited than I am right now. The best part? The pay increase is insane. Oh, I'm so excited!Where I've been
Posted 3 years agoSup nerds, just wanted to do a lil update since I'm not dead lmao. Full transparency I burned out on art so bad. I started taking commissions in 2011, started taking commissions for the furry fandom in 2013, and for about 7 years I just overloaded myself with taking so many commissions that it completely killed my desire to draw because I was drawing so much for other people that I never drew anything for myself and I burned out so bad. I was in school for a while and never had time, I tried drawing through the start of the pandemic and when I had time but I just never did much. I fell off drawing so bad for so long, I just didn't enjoy it anymore. When I fell into a different fandom I started drawing a bunch for myself again and it just was so nice to enjoy drawing again. So long story short, I've been drawing exclusively content that I want to draw to kinda rekindle the muse if that makes sense. That, and I got a job a few months back, I went from monday-friday 9am-5pm to now the days I work are 13+ hour days, and even still I gotta fit clinicals in there at some point too. Yer girl is in EMS now, so long hours, stressful job, while doing classes and working too. It's just a lot so I'm busy most of the time now.

By commissioning me you automatically agree to abide by my terms of service. I as the artist will take no responsibility for a commissioner who does not read my terms of service. My TOS is listed on my page, and in every information box listed in my commission price tabs as well as in the information of my YCH auctions. There is no excuse to not read my TOS.
**As the artist any piece I create I will maintain the right to post and use as promotion as I see fit. As the commissioner you may use the piece in any non-commercial way you see fit. For commissions for commercial use, please send me a note.

I do not offer refunds in most cases. Here are examples of when I would offer a refund:
-You (the buyer) have broken the courtesy agreement and will be offered a partial refund in tandem with whatever stage your artwork is in.
-I have had something personal come up in my life and reasonably do not believe I would be able to finish your piece. You would get a full refund if no art has been produced, you would be given a partial refund depending on the amount of work that has been completed on your piece, and the current form of your piece.
Otherwise, you will be receiving a piece of art if you commission me. It is not my fault if you sent me your last $100 and suddenly need groceries. Make sure you can afford your commissions before you commission someone.

Turn around times
Typical turn around times can range from next day to about a month or two depending on complexity for most pieces. Bigger products like complex reference sheets, comics, or animations will have longer turnaround time.
Deadlines
If you have a specific timeline (IE: 2-week turnaround), or a specific deadline for a piece please inform me before commissioning the piece from me. I will be able to inform you if I believe that I can accommodate that timeline/deadline.
Due to the nature of YCHs/Adopt edits, I do not offer deadlines or timelines on them.

Courtesy agreement

When you commission me, you are automatically agreeing to my courtesy agreement. This agreement includes but is not limited to the following behavioral rules and expectations of conduct on your (the buyer) end.
-Please make sure to request WIPs if you would like work-in-progress shots.
-If you request WIPs you will receive updates that you will approve before the next step of the commission begins. These steps are most commonly: sketch, line art, flat color, shading/final approval, BG final approval (If your piece has a background). During these waiting periods, your piece is put on pause until I receive approval from you. Commissioners have 48 hours to respond with approval before their commission will be put on hold and the next commissioner in the queue will be moved up to be worked on until finished. This will repeat until the original commissioner responds with their approval.
-If you go one calendar year without contacting me, or if your account is disabled/has blocked me/ or is not otherwise contactable your commission will be retired. If you return in the future, proving your identity/commission I will give you the piece at whatever stage it was at if I still have the piece. You will not receive any type of refund, you will also be blacklisted from commissioning me in the future.
-During the process of your commission I expect certain professional behavior. Honesty goes a long way with me, and I will always be completely transparent with my commissioners. Life happens and sometimes pieces take longer than expected. During this time receiving constant messages askin for updates, or constantly bothering me about your commission is distracting and rude. If you have a genuine question about your piece, please feel free to message me, but asking me for progress every few days or more is unacceptable, and you may be given a partial refund, and blacklisted.
-If you have previous approved an update, and then want it changed after your next update you will be charged a fee depending on how complex the change is.
Example: If you approved the flat colors/design then once I begin shading you want some markings changed. Or if you approved the sketch, then when you are given the line art and you suddenly want the pose changed.
-I am a very casual and laid back person, conversations with me can also be laid back, but please try to keep it business in email, or my FA notes.
-Harassment of any kind will absolutely not be tolerated. If you are abusive I will terminate your commission, you will not be issued a refund, you will be blacklisted, and blocked.

2020 was a really bad year for me with the whole state shutting down fresh out of school with no job and no one hiring. So things were really rough for a while, I had a neck injury back in October-ish, but that was never fully fixed unfortunately due to timelines with Uzziah and me moving so soon I couldn't finish getting the testing or whatnot done for it. It doesn't hurt as bad anymore since I've been resting it so much which has been a blessing. Basically, all we know is that one of my neck's nerves is actually fully pinched and we don't know what is causing it. It could be a herniated disc, it could be a bone spur, etc. Regardless once I figure it out I'm going to likely need neck surgery if it doesn't go away on its own. That aside, a lot of other illness issues have popped up in my life, 2020 was a year filled with a lot of introspection for me, and a lot of past trauma, unfortunately, came back since my 'coping' is to ignore it until we can't anymore. I have quite a few diagnoses that I need, but I need to wait until we finish the move until I can handle that.
In better news, Uzziah and I bought our first house together <3 We closed last week and move next Friday! I'm excited to get the warmer weather! We celebrated our 8th year anniversary not long ago which was a nice date night.
That all aside, it's no real secret that I had taken quite the break from the furry fandom. There was a lot of toxicity, several people I had met in 2018-2019 were just toxic and it pushed me too far away from the fandom to care anymore. I began drawing for different fandoms, I improved GREATLY with my humanoid ard again because I had sacrificed that for the sake of drawing furries for 7 years straight. So it's been a well-deserved break. I'm no longer putting up with people I find are shitty, Uzziah agrees and has been supporting me wholeheartedly. So friend culling was the name of the game for a while, healing through 2019 extended through to 2021 as 2020 was a terrible year. So, I've been feeling a lot better lately and I'm just so excited for a drastic change like this move!
That being said, I'm debating nuking all my old art on this account and starting out fresh again, more or less! Rebranding my art, changing my prices around to reflect better of what I want from this fandom more or less if I open up for commissions again. I really poured myself really hard into my commissions for a long time and the burnout was reeally intense, so I'm hesitant on opening them again because I don't want people waiting forever for something again, nor do I want to burn out yet again.Updates
Posted 5 years agoLife has been just pelting me with nonstop bullshit. I ended up pinching a nerve in the back of my neck. My doctor doesn't want to look into herniated disc due to not having accute trauma, despite my family history. Anyway, it's spread down my left arm (my dominant side) and my index finger and thumb have been experiencing pins and needles/numbness for over a week now.
She put me on a steroid to help with the inflammation but my insurance won't cover PT for me, and the steroid is giving me a lot of trouble. I've been on it for only 5 days now and have lost all will to eat because I'm just so turned off from the idea of eating, and it feels like it takes such incredible effort to eat anything. I'm down 14lbs in 5 days. I know that water weight should obviously be considered, but regardless 14lbs in 5 days is considerable weight loss even with it. Nevertheless the foul mood, the inability to sleep, I can barely think straight, and my whole body is sore and tired all the time, and waking up feeling nauseous.

Posted 5 years agoHey everyone, It's been a long time since I was able to post! I promise that I didn't die, things have just been bad for a while.
After my last journal I did my classes, passed everything, and went to my internship which was 2 months of unpaid full time work back in my home state. It was going great until my last two weeks where one of the Drs decided to suddenly flip on me and made the whole last two weeks a miserable hell hole and made me feel as though I wasn't enough for this field because I couldn't recite by heart EVERYTHING about pharmaceuticals that she wanted me to be able to talk about. Sorry ma'am, I just finished less than 2 years of schooling and we haven't touched pharm stuff since like the first year.
Anyway, I graduated on the last day of Feb, and a week later COVID struck my home state of NY, and everything shut down cold.
There were gas stations, medical centers, and groceries all TENTATIVELY open and that's it. The whole state just seemed to shut off and I was left without work, and unable to apply for jobs because no one was hiring, and unable to qualify for unemployment because I hadn't been working.
During this time my mother was diagnosed with two different types of cancer. One was removed entirely on biopsy, and the other was not able to be done the same. Her treatment and surgeries went on for a few months, but Chemo didn't work so they moved on to surgery. She only somewhat recently got it done, and they think they got everything, but this all started in the last week of my internship in Feb.
My depression had come back in full force and several new things that I don't have diagnosed but I could whole heartily say I have. I've been dealing with a lot of past traumas resurfacing, coming to terms with things that happened in my past is rough, and it's something I need help with at this point. I have plans to head back to therapy, thankfully, but it's a whole process that I'm working on.
In regards to my artwork, I had to take a break from the fandom for a while. All the drama that was going on was just too much and I felt it pushing me away from drawing in general over time. I found a different muse, I made a huge group of amazing friends, and I've been drawing for them primarily in the meantime just learning to love drawing again.
Now that I'm back in the saddle, I feel comfortable coming back and opening up for commissions and YCHs and working better on them. I'm of course in dire need of an income at this point so I'll be making this my full time job again (fingers crossed) in the meantime.
I greatly apologize to those who worried about me in my absence, I greatly apologize to anyone waiting on me for things, I'm currently working on them as we speak and progress should be expected to be much faster now. Thank you to everyone who understands the situation, and I'm sorry to those who don't. I don't have any other explanations other than life was too much and I had to put things not he backburner while I did my best to work through a lot of problems.

Posted 6 years agoSo I wanted to do a little update on where I've been recently. Basically, the past month has been an absolute nightmare.
1.) November 8th there was a pretty bad accident. For anyone who doesn't know, I live in a dorm, I'm finishing up my last term at this school, with less than 6 weeks (at the time this happened) the boys who lived on the floor directly above my own room decided to have a total boys locker room moment. He ended up lighting himself on fire trying to light some candy on fire. The sprinklers when off and in a fever-like dream we had to evacuate. The alarm was going off and when I got into m kitchen our entire back wall of the kitchen was POURING water like Niagra falls and I wish I was joking. So my roommate and I had to be moved to an entirely different floor in a different room with 6 weeks left of school.
2.) Work was crazy, they've been shifting wildly between giving me nearly full-time hours, and for example this week they didn't schedule me a single time. I picked up so many extra hours to help them out but here we are.
3.) I had some parties to go-to since then. Several days of plans to get out.
4.) I'm headed into my last finals soon, and it's taking a lot out of me to study for it all.
Things have been a bit hard to keep up with and sadly my art has been pretty much on the backburner right now. I'll be back to normal soon enough.Commissions [OPEN]

Computer officially died. (Update and help)

Things have been really intense for me lately. Work has been cutting hours because a new hire we got is available 24/7 and they rather give her hours than me but I'm only in this state for another 4 months so its hard to get anywhere else to hire me right now. I've been having issues medically, namely hypoglycemia for a reason my doctor can't give me. I gave her valid concerns of PCOS but all my testing came back negative for everything. My only abnormal test was that my circulating insulin was double the max range it should ne in humans. Which explains my random blood sugar crashes where I pass out when I get dangerously low. In relevance to medical concerns my mother was diagnosed a week and a half ago with a skin cancer. Shes tough as nails hut I know this scares her a lot. It scares me a lot, not only for my mother but also for myself in the future eith genetics now that three women in my immediate family have had 3 differenr types of cancer (leukemia, breast, and now skin). On top of all this I've been having some hard times with school, we're going into the final stretch where this is the hardest two terms. This is literally the make or break of the school and I feel the weight of it crushing me down now that we're getting to the hard stuff. (If you guys don't know I'm currently enrolled in a full time accelerated Veterinary Technician school where I'm taking nothing but 4-8 week classes, and we get our associates in 18 months)
In addition to this my old faithful computer has finally fully died on me. We had her for about 7 years and while she had some issues as you'd figure with any PC she was still very reliable due to future proofing done during her building and also with some new parts just to keep up to date. She was sorta my only escape and only real way to bond with Ziah and friends due to the distance, so this has hit me very hard. The school took every dime I had just to come down here, so I currently can't afford a new computer.
I'm not looking for advice. Shes already dead and ripped apart shes completely done for at this point, but I'll let you guys k ow what happened.
Over the past two months Penelope (her name) had little to no issues, she randomly crashed twice out of the blue for the first time in years about two months ago about a week and a half apart. Then nothing for a while. Yesterday I was attempting to load into a game with my husband and a friend and when I did the whole computer just crashed. Everything was black, no signal, horrible buzzing sound. I force restarted her, she loaded up like everything was fine. I loaded in again, same thing happened. Rinse repeat once more. I gave up for the night, figured she was just overheating since my dorm has been a little hotter than normal and some of my shorts are stored on hangers above her (with a clearance it's just a dorm, not much I can do about space). I let her sit, went to school. Logged on and tried again because I worry too much. Loaded into a game and within seconds the same thing happened. She wasnt hot so I was worried. Tried again, and again, amd again. I did some tips I had gotten online. Went out and even bought new stuff to clean the case out inside even thought I did it a few weeks back already. She was pretty much still spotless inside but I cleaned her anyway. I reorganized my room so she had full clearance all the way around. I pit her all back together, tried again and she died again. I plugged her in and went to run a diagnostic on her and thats when she just died. Flat out just died. No power, wouldnt turn back on. Nothing. So I popped her open, looked inside and restarted from a button inside which shocked me because there were suddenly sparks, some left over dust caught on fire (cos I'm not perfect), and smoke poured out. So I turned off all power, pulled out the cable and fanned her out. I spent a while with my amazing husband who puts up with way more from me than he should; taking her completely apart and seeing just what happened. Part way through I had a breakdown from everything in life just piling up on me. I just started sobbing quietly and trying to mush it all down so Ziah wouldn't hear it but my voice cracked mid sentence and when he asked me if I was okay I just lost it. I finished taking her apsrt a sobbing mess and then laid down in bed. We talked for a little bit but I wanted him to go to bed because he has work in the morning. I dont want him tired. I'm sure some aspects of her are salvagable but I'm not sure what is vs isnt and instead of just playing/paying a guessing game it would be more beneficial for me to save up for a new pc. I pulled my harddrive out, it should be compleyely fine I hope. The fire was on the opposite end of the pc and didnt get anywhere near the actual drive. I don't believe it's damaged but time will tell. Commissioners will be recieving notes about plans to move foreward since this was out of my control.
Tl;dr: As an update: School is getting very very hard, Mom was diagnosed with skin cancer in the past 2 weeks, my hypoglycemia is not being treated because we dont know whats causing it, my computer completely died, I sobbed like a bitch while trying to maintain bad bitch hours.

I plugged her in and went to run a diagnostic on her and thats when she just died. Flat out just died. No power, wouldnt turn back on. Nothing. So I popped her open, looked inside and restarted from a button inside which shocked me because there were suddenly sparks, some left over dust caught on fire (cos I'm not perfect), and smoke poured out. So I turned off all power, pulled out the cable and fanned her out. I spent a while with my amazing husband who puts up with way more from me than he should; taking her completely apart and seeing just what happened. Part way through I had a breakdown from everything in life just piling up on me. I just started sobbing quietly and trying to mush it all down so Ziah wouldn't hear it but my voice cracked mid sentence and when he asked me if I was okay I just lost it. I finished taking her apsrt a sobbing mess and then laid down in bed. We talked for a little bit but I wanted him to go to bed because he has work in the morning. I dont want him tired. I'm sure some aspects of her are salvagable but I'm not sure what is vs isnt and instead of just playing/paying a guessing game it would be more beneficial for me to save up for a new pc. I pulled my harddrive out, it should be compleyely fine I hope. The fire was on the opposite end of the pc and didnt get anywhere near the actual drive. I don't believe it's damaged but time will tell. Commissioners will be recieving notes about plans to move foreward since this was out of my control.
Tl;dr: As an update: School is getting very very hard, Mom was diagnosed with skin cancer in the past 2 weeks, my hypoglycemia is not being treated because we dont know whats causing it, my computer completely died, I sobbed like a bitch while trying to maintain bad bitch hours.

Posted 6 years agoHey guys, I 'm doing my best to save up some money to head back home for summer break to spend time with Uzziah and my family, being a college student it's really hard to keep down a job as well as go to vet school full time in an accelerated program. I also recently found out that my job has a man who comes in regularly to steal from us who is notorious for beating female employees who try to even stop him, so I'm currently looking for new jobs, but it's hard to do all that all at once. A round trip to home is about $120 for a bus, so that is what I'm aiming for minimum. My sister would like to hang out so I'd like to see if I can go to our amusement park around us for a day, especially since I haven't been there in years! Which I believe cost $35

Posted 6 years agoI'm headed back to NY to see family for 2 weeks while I have my break. I'm taking my tablet and a flashdrive with my current WIPs for commissions, base pack, and a personal piece I sketched a while ago I wanna redraw. My access to files will be limited until I'm back at my dorms (where my regular PC is) So any files I don't have listed in my queue I will NOT have access to. (If you try to adopt one of my current available adoptables I'll sell them to you but I can't give you the unwatermarked version until I'm back at my dorms, etc)
Anything that comes up from this afternoon on, and commissions in my queue I have with me. I'm praying I can get everything working so I can work this holiday season on my art since it'll be my first bit of time off in a while. If not I will be sending out notes to anyone who needs to know, and informing them of it. I had hoped to get my commissions done by break but my job scheduled me to work just about right after school let out every day till close of finals week. So I was up at 7am, school till 3, then work 4-9:30pm then study till 1am, panic to 2am, then finally pass out from exhaustion. So finals week almost killed me. I got some work on commissions done but not much due to the circumstances of my job fucking me over even though I gave them 3 weeks heads up.

Posted 7 years agoSince you guys know I like being totally transparent with ya'll I wanted to let you guys know work on art has been slow. I'm going into finals week, and this term has been very test heavy. I've been taking pretty much a test every day of the week or at very least a major project due if it wasn't a test. So this term will be over soon. I also just recently got myself a job down here to help pay for bills since it's been tough paying for all of this college out of pocket.
I have tomorrow off, I work for a few hours on sunday but am hoping to get sole good progress over this weekend and see what I can do without stressing myself out too much over it. I'm terribly sorry to anyone waiting. I hope I can have you understand I'm in an excellerated program in veterinary medicine. It's tough and requires a lot of attention.Big Design sale

Posted 7 years agoFigured I might give some life updates, since I haven't been able to say much since I left for school.
So I lost a ton of weight before coming here due to anxiety and stress. Cut some obnoxious ties with obnoxious people which felt nice, dealt with way more drama than I needed to on their bullshit. Eventually after I yeeted them and got settled in I eventually started eating more again. But still basically nothing even now I usually eat about one meal a day because that's what my stomach can handle anymore. I'm still making sure what I get is balanced as best I can. I'm by no means starving, but I have lost a lot of weight and I'm pretty proud of it! And Ziah can't keep his hands off me~
So I settled in and made a pretty big friend group! it consists of 7 of us mainly, and then a few handfuls of people who jump in and out as they see fit.
Ziah surprise me with a visit a few weekends ago, and we spent the entire time together, just loving on each other, laughing till our lungs hurt, snuggling, doing what rabbits do, and talking about some pretty intimate stuff <3 He's so sweet for real~ He's planning on moving down here soon with me, we're just looking for our cute little townhouse or apartment to call home <3
As for school itself it's been hella busy. I had one class that had two tests a week where we often had to learn about 100 words to just spew back onto a paper, it also had 3 papers to do which was annoying. My math is easy, no worries there. Tech is great as well. I also have my bio which is great to since I love bio. I currently have all A's which is lit~
Thinking about getting a job at the school for dog-walking too. Currently I'm not working since the workload is kinda crazy at the moment since it's an accelerated school program.
I'm also living in student housing with a roommate who I love dearly~! It just makes art slow since she's very innocent and sheltered and I can't draw porn in a dorm room shared with her lmao.

Posted 7 years agoIm writing from my phone. My dorm dosnt have anywhere for me to hardwire into the wall or anything so now I have to save up to get a wireless adapter for it. So until then I can't post anything sadly. So bare with me currently. I'll be checking on my phone I just cant post art atm.
