I'll be out of state on vacation starting from August 17th until August 24th. If you absolutely need to contact me for some reason (most likely for a commission you owe me, you can still send me notes here on FA (though my response time will be even more unpredictable than usual), and I won't be able to respond to Discord messages until I get back home.

I've been having a lot of trouble connecting to the internet on my computer. And given the holidays, it might be awhile before I can fix it. Just in case someone needed something from me.

My phone is the only reliable way to get online but that doesn't mean much.

So, uh, if you're not aware, Hurricane Helene is tearing up the east coast and that's where one of the states I was going to go on vacation is located. Which means my flight got canceled and even if it didn't, the state still wouldn't be safe.

So yeah, my vacation just turned into a staycation. It's bad news for me and my family but good news for my cat since she won't have to be put in a kennel. I might take a much shorter trip north to visit some family but nothing has been set in stone. I'll let you know if I do leave later.

I'll be leaving on a roughly week long trip, leaving this Friday and I won't be back until around Oct. 4. So if anyone needs something from me, they can leave a message but I won't be able to meaningfully respond until I'm back.

I'll be going on a short vacation soon, starting on Thursday and lasting either Monday or Tuesday (I forgot exactly when, ha).

So I'll be more or less unavailable until then. I still have internet access via phone and anyone reading this can leave a message via notes if they really need to but I won't be able to respond until I get back.

I haven't taken the time to thank you properly for watching me, but thanks to everyone that got me over 700 watches. Sorry I've been a little inactive here; besides work, I've been trying like mad to get some bills paid off and while I'm just now seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it has been the reason I haven't been able to upload much content (since, unfortunately, most of my content is in the forms of commissions and if I can't afford said commissions...)

I do have some more pictures to upload, I have gotten started on a few stories myself, so I hope I can make up for it in the next coming months. Maybe next year will be better. I'll definitely be getting a new computer sooner than later and I'm hoping to get a tablet soon so I can try to learn how to draw again. After three previous failures at drawing... At least this time the tablet will have an interactive screen. That would probably make it easier for me.

So, I don't use F-list because I'm neither interested nor have the time for roleplay. But I've seen the site before and it is very convenient for people to post their (or their characters') kinks.

And that could be useful for Allure, since as promiscuous as she is, she's ironically not very kinky for a lust demon. Her having an account with a detailed "yes/no" list would be helpful for anyone wanting to draw art for her. (not that I have had any such offers but it would still be nice if it did happen)

So, should I make an ironic account for her so what she's into/willing to do is plainly listed or would that be a bad idea since the purpose of F-list is meant to facilitate unironic roleplay?

I don't know if anyone has noticed or not (no one has said anything or asked) but you may or may not have seen that some art I've commissioned has been marked as "Outdated" (or if there's not enough room in the title section, just "OD").

Simply put, it means that it's "outdated" in the sense that said character has had their physical appearance changed. It can be something minor, such as Jackie's fur patterns, or something major, such as Sugar's... well, almost everything.

It does not mean that the subject of the picture itself is outdated; that still happened. It just means that retroactively, their appearance in that instance is no longer considered canon.

Thankfully, I'm happy with their current ref sheets, so the chances of any current pictures becoming "outdated" in the future is very low.

I'll be going away on a family trip this weekend starting early Friday, so I won't be back until probably late Monday.

Despite their best efforts, they couldn't recover the data from my external hard drive. A whole decade of my digital life, gone in an instance, just because I didn't know a bit about computer maintenance.

I'll have to start from scratch, redo various projects, track down files, write back to people I've commissioned, change all of my passwords, etc.

I'm going to be very busy today.

And to top it all off, my router isn't working, so I probably should replace that too.

Should have done this sooner but I forgot to.

The long and short of it is that I'm still waiting on the data recovery of my external hard drive. It's not looking too good, though that doesn't mean it's not possible, just that it requires an intensive process that involves a sterile environment and hazmat suits.

No, I'm not kidding.

This could take up to eight weeks before I hear anything back from them. Best case scenario is that everything gets transferred to the new hard drive I provided them but I also need to prepare for only a partial recovery. Word files are the highest priority, followed by images. Everything else can be replaced, though plenty would be lost to the void since I have less than a perfect memory. At the very least, if the worst case happens and they can't recover anything, at least I'll get a refund on everything but the initial diagnois; I hope it doesn't come to that because I'll have to restart several projects from scratch, reset every password, and basically have way more work than with even just a partial recovery.

All this is, of course, the reason I haven't updated my gallery with any new content. I'll post another journal when I hear back from them. I think I have about six more weeks before I hear back from them again.

I got my computer back from the repair shop much sooner than expected! I wasn't expecting it for at least another two weeks, but it seems like they got it repaired in just one day.

Still have to see if my external hard drive's data can be recovered. I'm expecting that to be sent out or be redirected to a computer repair shop. I'll update this journal when I know more about that.

I'm having serious computer problems. I'm not good with technology anymore advanced than "push this button to start", so I have no idea what is going on. My plan is to buy a cheap laptop so I have some access to the internet beyond a smartphone and maybe, if I'm super lucky, recover data from my external hard drive (which I should transfer and replace because it's super old).

This could not have come at a worse time since I'm already struggling with bills and I can't work overtime because there's too many people at the plant. So I'm basically on a fixed income until further notice, maybe for the rest of my life unless I want to kill myself and get a second job.

If you need me for anything, I might not be able to easily talk until I can get a laptop and I can't do anything about that until next week. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Just a heads up that from early Friday to late Sunday, I'll be away from home (and therefore, away from my computer). If you need something from me, feel free to leave me a note, just know that I won't be able to respond until I get back, possibly not until Monday if it's really late Sunday.

I was feeling restless after work and I really did not want to go without access to my computer for two whole weeks, so, carefully, I got the main part of my desk put together. New place still needs a lot of work but at least I'm no longer cut off.

...now I just have to figure out which websites I need to go to change my address. Yaaaaaay.....

Sorry, but the move is taking longer than expected. I'm technically in the new place but getting things unpacked will take longer than I wanted and because of my work schedule, I can't get my desk together with help until two weeks from now. It's complicated.

So, I didn't want to mention this until it was official, but I'll be moving out of my apartment and into an actual house. Today is the day that I will bring my modem to the new place so the internet guy will get it up and running. This doesn't invalidate any of Sugar's older appearances; after all, she used to have red hair and wear a neck warmer. Let's just say just like she always had brown hair and simply tried something different, she's always been a fennec, and after getting so many comments about how she's so unusually tall for one, she tried a more ambiguous appearance, only to get annoyed by people constantly asking what she is.

Bit of a resemblance, eh? It even has its ears pulled to the side.

So my question is this: should I keep Sugar as is or retcon her to be a fennec proper? I won't/can't do anything about her current refs, but in time I'll either get new ones made or, should I get my act together and learn how to draw, adjust her ears and horns so they actually work, as will as possible changes to her facial structure.

Or I could just keep her an unknown, not quite one animal and not quite another.
