After months of severe illness and struggling with chemotherapy, I'm ecstatic to say that the latest treatment, an immunotherapy, is working well to shrink my cancer growths. It's not a cure, and I'll have to have surgery in a few months to remove my kidney and some cancer in my liver, but right now I'm much improved from my previous state. My nausea is mostly gone, my pain is manageable again, and I'm working to build back atrophied muscles and raise my overall health. Thanks to the cancer, I lost over 80 pounds, and a lot of that was my muscle mass. Yuck!

I've started working again, but it's slow going. I really want to do more art for myself, so I'll be posting more soon!

I want to say thank you to everyone who has supported me the last 8 months, and to the people who continue to do so. I really couldn't have made it through without you all. Thank you.

I've mentioned a few times that I've been going through a series of surgeries to correct some tooth/jaw issues. It's been a long road, but I'm near the end! I met with my surgeon last week to schedule my final procedure. It's not until October, but my portion of the payment is going to set me back about $4500.

It's not a small sum, and I really need some help. I'm throwing a bit of a fundraiser; an Iron Artist extravaganza! Colored studies for a slightly discounted price, as many as I can handle between now and October with an end goal of 100 slots completed. Whoa.

This time, I wanted to keep it organized and simple. Only one style of commission (flat colored sketch studies) for the slightly discounted price of $40 (normally they are $45). Single characters only, no upgrades or fees.

I had an AWESOME time at BLFC this year! I got to meet some intensely awesome people, hang out with good good friends, and reconnect with some old friends who I haven't seen in ages. To top it all off, I had a really good weekend selling in the dealer's room and got some cool art for myself. I may be completely exhausted, but I'm incredibly happy I went.

I wanted to give a heads up to people still watching me that I'm probably going to do a gallery purge/move a ton of crap to scraps. I've been missing being here and doing stuff so...yeah I might be posting art at some point in the near future, and I'm definitely going to clean up around here! So if there's anything you want to save, now is the time.

I've seen this pop up a lot lately, and I get the concept. What does everyone think about it? Is it something that interests you? Something you find boring?

Honestly, I find it kind of intriguing myself. The challenge of making a pose or scenario without having the character/s in mind beforehand, and then working them in, dealing with body types, things like tail and ears, it sounds...different! And challenging! You don't know what you're going to get out of it (as an artist, as a commissioner, you would actually know more than usual), and I like that. That's just my perspective as an artist.

Most of the ones I see are auctions, and though I love the excitement of an auction, as an artist/seller they make me wary. Lots of potential risk there, but the process itself can be rewarding. I've never sold a commission in an auction before, and it's a little intimidating.

So, what do you think, guys? Like em, hate em? Ambivalent? If I did one with Honey, would anyone care?
