What do y'all think?
Posted a month agoI've been seeing posts on the socials where artists get feedback on their art from their followers and I've gotten curious, what do y'all think about my work?
Do y'all have a favorite thing I've made? Style y'all prefer? Is there anything that stands out about it? Questions? Comments? Things y'all think I could improve on? Stuff y'all want to see more of?
As a person creating music I am unable to know how it is perceived without asking you all. I'd love to know what y'all think of me as an artist, regardless of if it's positive or negative!

Presets / Projects / etc
Posted 9 months agoJust kinda curious if there's any interest in having project files, synth presets, etc uploaded along side of whatever I upload
Projects are generally for the most recent version of FL Studio, most of my sound design is done with the kilohearts ultimate collection, drums are generally either the free WA drum sample packs or made in UVI Drum Designer
Obviously I can't redistribute samples, but everything else is pretty much available if anyone wants them
That goes for older uploads as well, if there's anything y'all want to take a look at

Posted a year agoAlright! Four weeks and five streams later, I've met my goal of streaming once a week for the month of August!
For the time being, I probably won't continue to do weekly streams unless there's a strong desire for it. It's possible I might toss a stream up every now and then if I get in the mood for it though.

Music Streams on Tuesdays @ 8PM PT for August

Gauging interest in streaming

Since I've been on more of a sound design/mixing kick rather than actually writing music lately, I got to wondering if anyone would enjoy watching that kind of session on stream.
I'm in my DAW a a lot, and usually some music writing happens during those sessions, though a lot of it tends to go into the big folder of projects on my hard drive and never sees the light of day.
Most likely it would just be a screen capture of the monitor I have FL Studio open on, with the mic muted. I'd try to interact with chat/answer any questions during stream. It'd be kinda fun for me as well, since y'all could weigh in on whatever was being made (generally starting from a blank project each session), and I'd get to show off some stuff that I like but isn't polished enough to warrant posting.
Time and day is still up in the air, but most likely would be some time after 4PM pacific time on Sundays, Mondays, or Tuesdays.
The idea is to make it a weekly thing depending on if there is interest for it, here's a strawpoll: https://strawpoll.com/1MnwkOqeMn7

MIDI Controlled Polyphonic Resonator for FL Patcher
Posted a year agoHoi, like the title says, I made a polyphonic resonator that is functionally similar to Xynth Audio's Rezonator or Youlean's resonator patcher preset.

The main differences between mine and the Youlean resonator preset is that mine does not have clicking issues with note on/offs and allows for any 8 arbitrarily selected notes (Youlean resonator limits you to one resonator per note name)
A quick rundown of how to use this:
1. Load patcher preset on a send track
2. Add a MIDI Out to the channel rack, set the port and channel to 1, and enable mapping of note colors to MIDI channels
3. Draw in your notes like usual in the piano roll, but you can only have one note per note color (colors 1-8) since each color directly corresponds to a tuned resonator internally. Keep in mind that these also act as gates, so releasing the notes will mute the resonator.
4. Send audio into the resonators.
I made this for messing around with color bass sound design and figured I'd share since others have probably wanted something similar.
The reason the resonators are tuned on a per-note-color basis is because patcher does not support layers yet. The original plan was to use the sequential mode on a layer to route notes to resonators, but instead I had to use the VFX Color Mapper, which works, but is a little janky. The Youlean resonator limits you to one resonator per note name because they went the route of assigning every note it's own resonator using keymapping.
Anyway, hope someone gets some use out of this, it sounds pretty good on growl basses, drums, and can even be used for some Karplus-Strong string modeling if you play short bursts of noise into it.

Updated mp3 tags on some older works
Posted 3 years agoIt seems I forgot to add any mp3 tags to my previous works, so from 1-24-22 onwards has been updated to have correct mp3 tags. Hopefully going forward I'll remember to put them on for downloads
