My Original Species #1: Leoxoline
Posted 8 years agoOk, so I have three original species that I have characters for and often post here. I'll go more in-depth with them later with art but thought it'd be fun to do a quick run-down on them.
Leoxoline-
Magic and Age-
Magical creatures that left the spirit realm to live in the physical world many years ago. They have retained some of their magical abilities. Leoxoline carry elemental magic that is realized when they are born (once one is born the element of the season is basically absorbed by the body). Spring is earth, summer is fire, fall is eind, and winter is water. These elements manifest in many ways depending on the user. A water elemental might use ice, where as a wind elemental might fly. There is no one set style. Water and fire are opposites as are wind and earth, they don't tend to mesh too well.
An odd thing about Leoxolines is that they are born feral as kittens and age like cats. At a year old they shapeshift for the first time into a more toddler like state. Young Leoxolines still look like felines throughout childhood. Their ears and tail are small (unlike other dpecies having large ears) and remain small until puberty. Once puberty hits, their ears (and sometimes tail) will start growing to a more expected size (large ears are a trait of the species). They will also flash transform into their adult canine form and back again randomly. They gain the ability to control this after awhile. This is also when a large ability spike for magic happens.
Around 17 Leoxoline start feeling very empty inside. This is when they must find what is missing. Adult Leoxoline use properties of precious minerals, stones, or metals to amplify their magical abilities. Each Leoxoline forms a special bond with only one of them and must gind what it is to feel complete again. Leora's for example is silver and she wears it on a collar and is rarely seen without it. (Aka Leoxolines love sparkly things and are rather vain and greedy about them)
As Leoxoline get older their element starts to take their body over. Such as an elderly earth elemental might start having plants growimg out of them. Leoxoline that die from old age don't leave a body behind and instead turn into a pure form of their element. Those that were close to them will absorb some of their energy after the pass.
Besides their elemental magic, Leoxolines can learn to shapeshift after adulthood. Their default form is canine or feline but thst doesn't stop them from changing. Their canine form actually isn't truly canine. It has many feline traits in it. Front paws are feline while back are canine, long whiskers, canine snout with more of a feline nose, ect.
Physical traits-
-Leoxoline are known for long ears and a long tail (it's what seen as sexually attractive to other adults, there is even a stereotype in their culture that those that prefer short ears and short tails are pedos)
-A spots or marking on the back of the ears, best if the color is contrasting to the base color (Leora has a white spot over black tipped ears). This is used as part of the species visual communication and those lacking it are seen as untrustworthy.
-Different fur color on the tip of the tail, same as with the ears but less important. It was mainly used in the olden days as a form of communicating orders over long distances without alerting prey.
-Markings around the eyes. Leoxoline are sensitive to bright light and dark markings around the eyes make it much more bearable so it's a very common trait.
-Camouflage of some kind. Spots, stripes, speckles, piebald, merle, ect are all common markings Leoxolines have. Anything found in nature is common.
-Other markings vary significantly
-Leoxolines have manes. Their is short, medium, and long. Short is barely their medium is kinda in between (Leora is medium), and long looks like a straight up lion's mane. The mane fur goes in the opposite direction of the rest of the for. This hair is actually semi controlled by them. When angry their tails will bristle but so will the mane. The mane is much coarser and thicker than the rest of the fur. It is used as a defense to protect their necks in fights. It acts kind of similar to quills in that an unsuspecting foe will retreat with a mouth full of hair.
-There exists a mutation that lacks the coarseness of the usual mane. It makes the hair flow in the same direction of the surrounding fur and it is silky soft. This hair does not bristle and acts much more like human hair. Useless in defense but really pretty to look at.
Demons-
Leoxoline work closely with demons. They are often paid to exorcise demons or monsters from the physical realm. However, their methods don't kill the target. Instead the target is just sent back to the spirit realm to regain their senses (most just rampage because of the lack of magic in the physical world). Since this is such a common job and because of their large magic potential, demons are often drawn to Leoxoline. Leoxoline will make them their familiars to fight in battle, do basic jobs or housework for them, ect. A very common demon that bonds easily to the Leoxoline is the Kitsuon. They are a cursed demon that loses their sanity if their demon form breaks out. This is the worst fate for one as other species will kill them instead of subduing them. As a result these demons stick close to Leoxolines. They listen to every order in exchange they can live in the physical realm without fear (the presence of magical beings alone helps keep them in their common state).
Familiars though can be of any species of demon or magical beast. Non magical species lack the ability to form the familiar/master bond required and as a result can't be summoned and can't share energy. Leoxoline will often seek out more powerful demons as the master can withdraw power from the demon and use it for themselves. They can also grant power to the familiar but the familiar can't force it.

Art Trades~
Posted 9 years agoSeeking art trades~
Offering this style of art:
http://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/.....hone-Drawings/
I'm mainly looking to make headshots/busts but open to fullbodies as well.
I wan to trade equal value for equal (as in a headshot can take 1 to 3 hours while a fullbody can tak 3 hours+).
All pictures will come automatically with a basic design, gradient-esque, or sky background (my phone can't make transparent backgrounds but if you want one, let me know so I can make the background a solid and highly contrasting color so an art tool can make it transparent, I think I used Lunapic to do this back in the day).
Not going to be too picky on art as long as you are serious about it~
I am looking for art of any of my OCs listed under the "Original Character" category~
