Need Money
Posted 15 years agoI was dreading the day I'd have to put a journal like this up. And, this close to Christmas.
But, I recently lost my job, and my car insurance is either due or overdue (I'm not sure yet). It's $127.45, and I currently have $5.82 in the bank. If anyone could possibly spare a little bit of change, at the very least it would keep my debts down if I *do* overdraw.
I don't expect anything, but my PayPal is atrus_ghen_2008@yahoo.com.

Christmas Wish List meme

Xmas Meme
STEP ONE
# Make a post to your journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your journal, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
1) A giant LEGO set. Around or over 1,000 pieces. <3 LEGOs.
2) More furs to live near me.
3) A job, maybe just something to supplement my unemployment, or at least a little money to help me get by and maybe buy some presents for people.
4) A Dish Network DVR box that doesn't freeze up every hour.
5) Artwork of any of my characters, especially Artemis since I can never seem to find someone who draws him like I envision him. (Sorry, people, I appreciate the effort greatly.)
6) Writing inspiration and/or the ability to draw.
I can't think of anything else.
Also, a question for thought:
Schrödinger's Tree: If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to observe it, does it fall in all possible directions at once?

Posted 15 years ago...Find out what it means to me~
So yesterday at work I had a manager disrespect me, fairly subtly, but I pointed it out to him anyway. He told me that it's not disrespect, and he stuck with that even after I said it felt disrespectful to me. Finally he said he didn't need any attitude from me, so I apologized. Now, am I wrong in saying that what he did was the very *definition* of disrespect?
Anyway, this is no doubt a rant journal to let off some steam. However, I do have a point to make:
In my honest-to-God opinion, respect shouldn't have to be earned by anyone. In fact, and this is what I tend to practice, people should have to work to *lose* your respect of them. There are few people that I disrespect, no matter age, gender, or race, and even fewer that I disrespect as a first impression.
Journal over.

Good Riddance, 2009
Posted 15 years agoTomorrow marks the last day of the first decade of the second millennium. The year 2009 has not been a happy one for several people. I know some families which have suffered more this year than I have ever seen in my entire life. There are various artists on here that I followed and watched their struggles of the year through their journals.
For myself, 2009 has been decent to me. It marks my first full year in the working world (albeit in a stressful workplace, at least I have income). One relationship started and ended for me, short but beautiful. And another relationship has begun and I fail to see an end to this one. It was my second year trying NaNoWriMo, and I manage to nearly triple last year's score (I still failed to win, but oh, well).
So, I hope you all have a Happy New Year's and here's to the promise that 2010 will be better than 2009. Much.

Merry Christmas!
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm joining in on the whole Merry-Christmas-journal-on-Christmas-Eve thing. Why? Well, it's close enough to Christmas that no one really cares! =D
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Tonight, I received a bitter Christmas gift for myself. I was cited for an improper turn and causing minor property damage to someone else's car. It wasn't too bad, except for the other driver's reaction to the accident. First thing out of my mouth when we stopped was a sincere apology. First thing I heard from the other people? "We just got this car!" They didn't even acknowledge my apology. =(
Luckily for me, one of the passengers in my car feels responsible for the accident and has offered, without accepting "No" for an answer, to pay. In my defense, I did try, once, to turn that down.
So, yeah. Merry Christmas, and let's all hope I'm not taken to court over this stupid incident.

Old Adage - Revisit
Posted 16 years agoSo, a while ago, I posted an old adage. Which, I realized--rather pessimistically--describes my life pretty well.
"If it seems too good to be true, it probably is."
I also realized--not so pessimistically--that, I kind of live my life to some extent to that adage. However, I try to make it so, to other people, it may seem to good to be true, but it *is* true. I guess I don't get much of a chance to do this, and/or I don't do it every chance I get, but either way, I do try. It's just in my nature, I think.

Midwest Furfest
Posted 16 years agoYeah, I'm going. Short notice, I only found out on Monday that I was going. However, I'll be making this 4+ hour drive alone. And that's one-way, so it's more of an 8-9+ hour drive. Same-day, most likely.
So, if anyone else is going, look for me. I'll be wearing all black (jeans, polo, and jacket), along with dogtags that have "Artemis X" and "Xumahare" on them (will have the former showing), and I'll be carrying either a large black-and-white laptop bag or a smaller bag made by the artist
inuki, if it shows up on time. (Though the latter might not be big enough to fit my portfolio-thingey... Hm...) Also, blonde hair pulled back into a ponytail, and glasses. If you still can't find me, well, then you're either not looking hard enough, or you're not in the right place. If it's the latter, then where the hell are you and why aren't you at MFF?
Not looking forward to the drive, though I do have some books-on-tape I can listen to on the way. =D

Name Search
Posted 16 years agoSo, I was bored, and decided to Google my name: Monhare.
Turns out, it was the shortened version of some ancient mapmaker's last name. And some foreign word I can't figure out the origin, let alone meaning, of. Oh, and I found two sites that I've never visited, let alone logged on to, where someone was using that username. I do not have accounts on either Twitter.com or Atkins.com.
So, I guess I wasn't as original as I thought. Eh.

Yearly journey
Posted 16 years agoLast year, I decided to start a journey. Well, I didn't get very far. I lost interest.
However, this year, I decided that I would depart on a month-long journey. This journey is one of stress, of franticness, of love, loss, fear, hatred, magic, etc.. However, due to my location, this is a journey I have to make alone, despite the millions (or at least hundreds of thousands) making this journey with me.
Let me ask you: Have you ever done something that was so crazy that it didn't seem like a good idea even at the time, but you wanted to do it so badly that you went ahead and did it anyway? I'm doing that.
The journey? Writing 50k words in one month. Why alone? Because I know of no one else around here doing this.
You know what really sucks? Because quite a few of the people I know online nowadays I met through the forums on the above website, I'm now ignored by a number of them in favor of writing. Or, at least I feel that way.
Other updates:
For some reason I couldn't fall asleep last night very easily. I went to bed early, about 9. I stayed up reading for maybe 45 minutes, and then turned off the light, put down the book, and closed my eyes.
The last time I looked at the clock before succumbing to the comforting abyss of sleep was at midnight. And yes, I *am* sure I didn't keep waking up and looking at the clock, because I can tell when I sleep for a bit and wake back up. No, my mind just didn't stop last night, and listening to music didn't help, either, like it usually does.
Also: Fruits Basket FTW! Yuki is sooooo cute, I can't stand it! X3 And Kyo is in a pretty close second, but only because I'm a sucker for feminine blondes.

Shoutbox Cleanup
Posted 16 years agoDecided to randomly clean out my shoutbox, only leaving little things like "Thanks for the watch" and, well, that's about it. Why? I dunno. Seemed a little cluttered to me. Besides, I like those comments.

Anyway, on to the point of this journal.

Washington - Domestic Partnership
Posted 16 years ago~Updates C=
Posted 16 years agoSo it's like, 3:20 in the morning, I have to be to work at 7:30, and I haven't slept yet. There are a few reasons for this, and one's got me twitching and grinning like a complete idiot!
Minor reasons: I was in an AIM group chat with a few friends, and we were suddenly flooded with a whole bunch of new people claiming the chat room as their own. It's AIM, so all chatrooms are public. But we've been in this particular one all summer, and suddenly waves of seasoners come and take it over. I decided to stay and see how things played out. After some fighting, we finally came to the realization that yes, we all *could* get along. That whole thing lasted until about midnight. Oh, and it turns out, I was *still* the only guy in the whole group of literally 12. For a while, the 13th joiner was also a guy. But still.
Around about 1 o'clock, when we were all getting along great, I get a message from one of my friends inquiring about another friend of mine. As I said, I'm literally the only guy in this group.
Anyway, one thing led to another and, after a really long conversation in which neither of us wanted to ask the question, I finally asked this other friend if she wanted to be my girlfriend.
So now, I'm finishing up this journal at 4:50 (MeineLiebe keeps distracting me), I have to leave in less than two hours to get to work. I've never pulled an all-nighter with work in the morning, so I'm dreading the 1/2-hour drive back home. And the hour drive around at 6 just to pick up a friend, go back up there, and come back home at 1 o'clock in the morning.
Where'd all my time for sleep go?
TL;DR
1) Big fight in an AIM chatroom.
2) I managed to get a girlfriend.
In short:
I'm hitched! C=

Thank you all so much...
Posted 16 years ago...for making me feel like a complete idiot.
Out of everyone who has responded, FOUR of you already knew. And, apparently, I had myself worried for the past few days for nothing, because those of you who didn't know, didn't care. Well, 'care' isn't the right word here, but you know what I mean.
Also, I must thank you again for, as I put it in my last journal, not 'running my emotions through a blender'.
So now, I have a dilemma. What am I going to do with these two accounts? I never saw a point in someone having multiple accounts for multiple fursonas, or to put one type of thing in one and one in another, such as, in my case, put my stories on
and my commissioned/requested/etc. pictures on
.
I also don't want to give up one account or the other, as they both mean a lot to me. Any ideas?
Oh, and it's annoying because now I don't want to use my signatures (~Æ and ~Monhare) because I don't know which one to use, or if I should use one at all. So yeah.

I'm sorry...
Posted 16 years agoI have a major confession to make to all of my watchers. One that leaves me vulnerable, that will give my emotions to my friends on here, and give them a choice of putting them through a blender, or handing them back to me intact.
artemisexsalia and I are the same person.
This may not seem like such a big confession at first. But, to those of you who know both of "us", you've been led to believe that "we" are different people. Hell, I've gone so far as to talk to myself in comments in journals and things, and made two different PayPal accounts at one point.
I'm asking forgiveness for the lies and deceit. I'm asking that, even if you don't want anything to do with me after this, you let me down easily.
For those of you who are still curious, there is a story behind this... See, when I first became a furry, it was all in the closet. I had a name, "Monhare", but not a face to put it to, nothing to use it on. So, I created the online persona with that name. It started out as just that: one account that I lurked on. Then I started commenting on things, and slowly became friends with some people.
So I originally joined the site again as Artemis_Exsalia so I could post things like "Six-Tailed Story" again in a single format, and so "the person who wrote that story" could have a face and voice. I wanted to watch some people on that account, so I chose some I had become decent friends with on Monhare and watched them on Artemis_Exsalia.
I never meant to pimp myself, or use both accounts to get picture or things. Therefore, when Monhare entered
cecil-sayataki's contest, Artemis_Exsalia didn't. I'm not a selfish person and, in any other circumstance, I try to be as honest as possible.
In short, I'm sorry, and I hope you'll forgive me, or at least not run my emotions through a blender.

In short, I'm sorry, and I hope you'll forgive me, or at least not run my emotions through a blender.

Questions? Comments? Concerns?
Posted 16 years agoWell, I'm online, bored, and have nothing better to do. So, I'll jumping on a bandwagon probably long abandoned by now, but here it is:
If you have any questions (or comments) about myself or any of my characters (so far only Monhare, Jolana, and Alec are the only ones of any interest), feel free to ask. Just remember to specify who you're asking, as each will have different answers for you.
