Featured Reading Picks!
Posted 2 years agoLooking for a place to start reading from my library of posted stories? Below are some of my personal favorites over the years! (In no particular order)
The Night Mother Answers Your Nocturnal Supplication (NSFW)
The first Dragonborn in centuries has joined the ancient Dark Brotherhood. While working her way deeper into the organization, she found an amicable companion in a former Shadowscale. Her latest contract is a sort of vacation from the dreary business of assassinations and a chance to work with her new found attraction. Unfortunately for her target, the vacation won't be so enjoyable.
Love Bites (NSFW)
You aren't exactly sure where your relationship with the aloof Dmargo, Edah, stands. What you do know is that you enjoy the time you do get to spend together, when she happens to be around. Every time she leaves you're never quite sure if she'll come back, but you can't stop yourself from hoping and you can't deny your feelings forever.
Sibling Solace (NSFW)
Rae and Tae, fraternal Durachev twins, have never been separated, not since they were old enough to remember. Inseparable, they spent every waking, and non-waking, moment together. With their mother's early death they were left in the care of their father.
As adults they were still inseparable, living together in a small apartment and sharing everything. An indispensable duo to their employer, Moon, an organization that hired the most skilled operators it could find--commanding an equally high price. But now Moon wanted to go to the moon, a desolate, industrial wasteland, shattered by a century old war. A suicide mission if there ever was one. A mission they can't turn down because of a debt they owe. Now the inseparable twins face their greatest fear, being torn apart.
Ship of the Damned (SFW)
What if you woke up on a generation ship in deep space when you weren't supposed to? Disoriented, and in a strange place you just can't seem to remember, you meet the guardian of all the souls in cold storage. You slowly start to remember who you are and learn that something isn't quite right. Something lurks in the darkness of your mind and in the dim corridors...
Coming in Hot (NSFW)
A diminutive cage technician has a particular act she likes to play on unsuspecting drivers. It's not the easiest life, constantly traveling space aboard a ship and rarely setting foot planet side, but she tries to keep things interesting. This particular day proves to be of the very interesting sort.
Dishonest Departure[Go to page 15] (SFW)
The end of vacation means saying goodbye. A goodbye that he doesn't want to have to say. He signed on the dotted line and has to leave behind his friends and the one he loves, again. It doesn't get any easier, it only seems to get harder and harder.
Jake Gets His Performance Review (NSFW)
Mr. Z has asked Jake to stay behind on Friday to talk to him one-on-one in his office about his performance at the company so far. Jake can't get what happened at the holiday party not too long ago out of his head and can't help but wonder if his performance is all Mr. Z wants to talk about. Perhaps Jake intends to put on a bit of a performance instead...
Bottle it Up; Pour it Out (SFW)
Arskew, a settlement on the outskirts of what's left of civilization, is home to a population of orcs and one surly, foul mouthed security chief who is sick of being stationed there. Years of being away from home and everything he likes has beaten him down. His self-assigned best friend has to try her best to keep him from spiraling deeper into depression....
"Outstanding motivation and dedication to duty..." (NSFW)
Nalz doesn't like when his lunch-time nap is interrupted. Especially not when that interruption requires him to work. Of course, Koda doesn't know this when he rings the bell at the armory's window, but still, he ends up paying the price for his grievous error. The Corporal is quick to put the Lance Corporal in his place--on his knees.

My First Published, In Print Story!
Posted 10 years agoSo I'm pretty excited about this! I submitted a non-fiction story to a veterans journal several months ago and forgot about it, not expecting a response. But then I got one, they liked it and to top it all off they enjoyed it enough to want to put it in their quarterly print journal! Badass!
You can read the a full .pdf copy of the journal online here: http://o-dark-thirty.org/the-review-2/ . Click on Volume 3: Number 4. My story is under non-fiction, titled "Dishonest Departure."
This story might be familiar to anybody that follows my work on FA and that's because it is something I posted a version of a couple of years ago, but I removed. Now it's way more awesome! Give it and the rest of the publication a read and let me know what you think!
If you're interested in supporting the Veteran's Writing Project, or want to buy a physical copy of the journal you can do so here: http://o-dark-thirty.org/subscribe-2/ .
Happy reading, readers!

Ten Years & Upcoming eBook(eShortStory?)
Posted 11 years agoThis is a repost from my SoFurry profile. But you're all still my readers here!
I just checked my profile and I've been on Yiffstar/SoFurry for ten whole years now!
Ten years...
That's a long time. Let me check out some numbers, everybody likes numbers!
Page views: 42,706 or 4,270.6 views per year
Submissions: 44 or 4.4 per year (Damn, I'm slow!)[Only 33 of these are stories, so even slower!]
Comments received: 112 or 11.2 per year (Come on! You guys can do better than that! That's only 2.5 per story!)
Watchers: 102 or 10.2 new watchers per year
By a couple thousands views, my most viewed story is my absolute oldest! So, it has had many, many years to accumulate views. Alien Exchange: Earth
I started to rewrite that story a couple of years ago, as a sort of anniversary thing, but I never finished it. If anybody is interested, I suppose I could post what I did finish!
I want to thank all my watchers and those who have read and enjoyed and offered criticism over the years. Writing is a hobby of mine and something I enjoy, but making myself do it can be such a chore sometimes. On top of work and taking classes, I don't always write very much. There are things I write that I never complete, so they never get posted. Writing isn't quite like art; people don't seem like they'd be as interested in half-finished stories like they would be half-finished drawings. However, if anybody would like to see the things I've never finished, I could always post them up for you to read.
One final thing. I have a story that is complete that I'm planning on offering for sale as an eBook (eShortStory?). It's slightly over 9,000 words and is an erotic M/F story. I was planning on working with a friend to make it illustrated, but I'm not sure if that is going to happen. So, I ask you, readers, what do you think is a fair price for a story of that length? The range I was considering would be $.99-2.99. I consider the upper range worth it because this isn't likely to move many copies (Hell, I'd be happy with selling ten!) and I did put plenty of time into it. But, then I come to the lower price = more sales. A Pay What You Want scheme would be more difficult because I would have to do that on an individual basis, as opposed to posting it to a site that facilitates the sale for a percentage cut, which is a more professional way to handle things, in my opinion.
So, dear readers, I'd like to hear your opinions on the matter!

Time Will Tell...

P-P-P-Promoted!
Posted 12 years agoSo, last week I got promoted at work, which is pretty sweet. I wasn't really expecting to get promoted for another year or so. Seems I got lucky and a bunch of people got out and the score dropped. Not to say that I didn't have a really high score for my current time in service/time in grade. No big deal.
Still don't feel like a Sergeant though...

Old Age
Posted 12 years agoSo, I just turned 25. Does anybody have any advice on how to not get fat and old looking? Or is it all just downhill from here?
You should all celebrate my birthday by reading one of my stories that you haven't yet.

Our Never Ending Failure
Posted 13 years agoEvery time I watch or read something about the vastness of the universe, I am in awe of the technology we used to leave our planet. Then I am dismayed by the idea of how little we have surpassed that feat in 40 years. Space should never cease to amaze any of us. The future is in the stars, but we're too short sighted as a species to come to that consensus. And that makes me sad.
If I had the choice, I would come back 500 years from now and hope that we were among the stars, if only in our own solar system. A true space faring species that, I hope, we will some day achieve without destroying ourselves over petty differences first.

Diving
Posted 13 years agoAs of today I'm a PADI certified Open Water diver. Woo.
Also, I surfaced in a school of 'effing jellyfish, got a ballin' sunburn and a case of seasick.

Mmmm. . . cigars.
Posted 13 years agoAnybody spend way too much money on something you're just going to set on fire? I know this guy does. It sort of cures the 'not a whole lot to do' part of being deployed. So I shall continue to spend too much money and enjoy myself whilst playing games of Spades in the most badass smoke pit the Marine Corps has ever seen.
That is all.
That is all.
Oh Japan. . .
Posted 14 years agoYou're so foreign and silly but I think I love you.
Heading for Japan
Posted 14 years agoSitting in a Virginia airport, waiting away the next 7 hours until my flight to Tokyo departs. Not sleeping until I'm on that 14 hour flight. It my be longer now though, Japan did move quite a bit after all.
I'll probably be over there helping clean up within the next couple of weeks. We'll see.
