I'm driving on the highway, going an mph or two OVER the speed limit and people are STILL passing me like crazy! People drive fast as shit out here.....

I'm a real party-pooper (By everyone else's standards, but I like to have fun on a much higher level)

City life. Though I like to live in seclusion, I MUST be within a short drive to downtown. It's where all the action's at. It's the cross-section of modern culture, so many different people and each one has a story. Besides, the food is AWESOME.

Stagnant individuals by choice.
9. Something to improve on?
Everything I do. The idle thoughts that pass through my mind, I must learn to control them. My morals, ethics, ideals and beliefs and how to interact with others. Am I In the Wrong Here?
Posted 17 years agoOk, so nothing really brought this up (Ok, yeah it did), but I just want to know if my reasons are justifiable.
So I have my girlfriend who is very close and dear to me, and she has this friend who is close and dear to her due to "history" and whatnot. Anyways, I don't like her friend, I don't like him one bit, yet my gf says that she can't understand why I hate him so much (Yes, hate). At first, I'm stumped, maybe I just don't like him because I'm a guy and I get jealous when other guys are around her? No, because there's been other guys she's talked to that I really didn't care about too much. Or is it because she defends him so gallantly that really bothers me? Yes, I think that's it.
Now I wouldn't be making such a big deal if I felt I was being an ass trying to get rid of one of her friends, but let's look at this. I'm very much the anti-hedonist, I used to steal in my younger days, but I'd usually return the items anonymously within a few weeks out of guilt. The most alcohol I've ever had at one time was when I took a shot of Sake last New Year's, not to mention my parents were the ones who offered it. Never smoked.....anything :P I always offer help when it doesn't conflict with my own plans too much, whether I know the person well or not is hardly a factor. I strive to be honest in most endeavors, though like anyone I slip up at critical moments. I emphasize monogamous, loving relationships (Despite how low my own has gotten at times). I don't believe in free or anonymous sex. etc. etc.
Yet this guy.....ohhhh this guy who happens to be my gf's BEST FRIEND has the nerve to downtalk my character? Saying I'm dishonorable and other such bullshits? Well, this guy here has stolen thousands of dollars worth in merchandise from various places, namely Best Buy. He says he stopped doing drugs years ago, yet recently I heard he almost DIED because he was trippin' on some substance and trying to drive. He's taken the virginity or at LEAST a dozen girls. He's cheated on one of his girlfriends almost as many times (No idea how many he's had....at least 3 or so since I met him). He's mistreated some of my gf's belongings when she left them at his house, and also has failed to return things to her that were NEVER given to him by her in the first place. He constantly (Or at least has) poked fun at her because of her religion. Sure I tried to convert her on more than one occasion, but it was only because I THOUGHT it was the best for her (This has since been disproven). And on TOP of all that he actually did hit on her one time he spent the night at her house, for whatever reason be it out of pity or failure to withhold male urges is unimportant, the fact is it shows that it CAN happen.
The real funny thing is I didn't exaggerate ANY of this.
Yet I'm still a horrible person for trying to get him out of my girlfriend's life? Right, gotcha.....

Posted 17 years agoTo those of you who don't know me, I am one of those ass-holish atheists who try to get others to believe (Or disbelieve) what I do for reasons seemingly justifiable only to me. However, upon greater scrutiny from my painfully Christian girlfriend, it actually got me thinking.....WHY do I try to get others (At least those close to me anyways) to think the same way I do? At first I'd told her I'd rather have her thinking rationally and follow nothing that I felt had been scientifically disproven. I thought that if I got her in the same theoretical boat as me that she'd be better off for it, meaning I felt that she'd be a much more thoroughly thinking and logical person. Yet looking back on it, I had a ridiculously hard time justifying to her over the phone WHY I really was trying to do it, not to mention there've been quite a few religious scientists sprinkled quite generously throughout history.
I've always told myself I should respect the beliefs of others, and though I respect them it just irks me that the beliefs of those close to me differ so radically that I end up trying to convert them. Why do I do it I wonder? Perhaps, as Lin Chi said, I am still bobbing in the sea of delusion...

I Seriously Think I Have A Mental Disorder...
Posted 17 years ago...because I'm so mentally different from everyone else. Sure there's the usual "I'm just unique," however I feel unique to the point that I'm so far gone beyond even liberal society I feel....like I just don't belong :P
I mean, the way I think and the beliefs I hold are just so radical that whenever I voice my opinion it is often met by a wall of scrutiny and scolding on how evil or wrong I am.
I was thinking at first maybe I'm just a bad person, but then after a couple of years (Especially recently) of trying rather consciously to be a good person I've accomplished nothing but near total failure. I lack the sense that, according to most everyone I know, is common. I have next to no knowledge or familiarity to popular culture despite never having been held from it.
I just feel like shit right now I guess, but I assure you this journal is not a result of that feeling. I've felt this way for years honestly. Regardless, tonight hasn't been the best of nights........

Posted 17 years agoYup. Life's boring as shit right now. I'm getting my license in a few weeks and shortly after that I'm off to join the US Air Force! Got my whole life ahead of me, I've already got my job secured as an Airborne Crypto-Linguist (Financially that means after 2 years of training I'll be making like......$60,000? About there...).

Dude HELL no. I'm on a lifelong quest to.....well make my lifespan really really long. I find this substance a hindrance to that goal.
[03] Abortion: for or against it?
For it. Sometimes there are times when a baby would do more damage to those already living then the damage done to the unborn fetus. I'm also for responsibility and preventive measures as well.
[04] Do you think the world would fail with a female president?
I don't think the world would fail. I DO think the USA and it's associates would go through some drastic changes considering the average woman has very different conscious and unconscious thinking patterns opposed to men. For better or worse, I can not accurately say.
[05] Do you believe in the death penalty?
Only for the worst of the worst, the kind who are literally mentally unfixable. I believe others SHOULD be socially reformed while in prison, however of course nobody's willing to go through that trouble, not my country anyways.
[06] Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
Yes. Many gang and criminal organizations get their prime source of income through illegal marijuana sales. People are going to get their shit one way or another, and what better way than through government sanctioned pharmacies? Less money for the criminals, more for our hospitals and pharmacies.
[07] Are you for or against premarital sex?
Oh please: The last place you want to discover you're incompatible with your partner is in the bedroom, on your wedding night. (Yeah, I left this answer alone too. ;))
[08] Do you believe in God?
Not necessarily. I believe that there may or may not be a life form or consciousness of some sort with more capabilities than mankind, however, the deities as presented by the majority of people on Earth (Especially the Judeo-Christian god) are chock full of inconsistencies and contradictions and points that have largely been scientifically disproven. So no, although I've never sensed anything outside of the 5 senses nature saw fit to give me so I can't say for sure.
[09] Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes. I see absolutely no harm from this other than the traditional idea of a "family" will have to undergo some changes.
[10] Do you think it's wrong that so many Hispanics are illegally moving to the USA?
Yes. This is our country. It was made by those that had the strength to do so, and it has since opened it's borders to others who could make a better life for themselves while bolstering the integrity of this great nation. This idea has since been taken advantage of. Personally, I think this country should decree a national language that MUST be spoken otherwise you cannot live in this country. Down here in San Antonio a large number of people who supposedly live here don't even speak English. It's ridiculous and I'm tired of seeing our country divided in this way. It will ultimately lead to our decay unless something is done. There's so much more on this topic as I feel strongly about it, but that's for another journal...
[11] A twelve year old girl has a baby, should she keep it?
If she has the financial and mental capabilities to do so, why not? Still, my offer of $50 still stands for whoever can find me such a person.
[12] Should the alcohol age be lowered to eighteen?
I think age should hardly play a factor with alcohol. The age rule was originally designed to match the average level of responsibility and knowledge of alcohol, that has since changed however quite drastically. If anything it should be raised, though that may just make younger kids want it even more. Regardless of all this change, the parent's role is STILL to educate the children on what is NOT taught in school: Responsibility
[13] Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Yes and no. Yes because we have our own problems and the nation of Iraq has done nothing for us really (As far as I know). We don't need our young men dying everday for such a trivial cause. We aren't fighting evil like in WWII.... And no because we're on the verge of something great, pulling a nation out of 3rd world status and bringing them up to speed with modern society.

Have you ever laid in a hospital bed, knowing you are going to die? You're in so much pain that they keep loading you up with pain meds until you're sick and instead of helping they are just making you feel worse? Yeeaah. I think assisted suicide shoul be legal. We are *humane* enough to put animals down when they are suffering, but not people. Something seems very wrong with that ideal to me. (Left the same)

I believe in sitting down with them and, not just talking to them, but really getting them to understand what they did was wrong. Second offense: Punch to the solar plexus.

Talk about a gimmie: Obama. Let's see: on one side we've got a poor kid who went to Harvard, graduated at the top of his class, Constitutional Scholar, taught Constitutional law for years, served with distinction in his state's legislature, went on to the nation's Senate and got on the loose nukes ish with Richard Lugar right off the bat. On the other: a crazy old man who was a maverick (about fifteen years ago), who graduated near the bottom of his class in the college his fam got him into, has had serious anger issues his entire life, who swings in whichever direction the money's coming from, whose hands are still dirty from the LAST government bailout he was part of, whose policies don't differ a bit from those of the worst president we've ever had, who surrounds himself with right-wing lobbyists and has a poisonous religious nut as a running mate. There's a choice here? (Left same: Agree)

Furaffinity Social Hierarchy

Basically, I propose that the denizens of Furaffinity reorganize into a social hierarchy. This is NOT an idea to promote the cultivation of egos and superiority towards other artists. It is instead for kicks, shits, and giggles.
So I was thinking it could be based on the amount of watches a person has as this reflects their relative level of skill (Though not entirely accurate 100% of the time). Look at them as more of.....milestones. It would be like:
0 Watches (Tirones)
10 W (Milite)
50 W (Legionarii)
100 W (Imaginifer)
200 W (Cornicen)
350 W (Signifer)
500 W (Tesserarius)
750 W (Optio)
1000 W (Aquilifer)
1500 W (Centurion)
2000 W (Pilus Prior)
3000 W (Primus Pilus)
5000 W (Praefectus Castrorum)
7500 W (Tribunus Laticlavius)
10000 W (Legatus Legionis)
This would be the basic idea, though there ARE special cases (Such as a profile that does not post anything but provides constructive criticism to other artists). It's a very warrior-oriented system, akin to the idea that the amount of heads you return with from a battle determines the amount of respect you get from the clan.
I was thinking we could either use Medieval society classes, such as lepers, commoners, craftsman, knights, etc. OR We could use like Roman military ranks (Which is what I have as an example right now). Also, I was unable to find a comprehensive list of social classes from ANY society (Or at least any that has at least 15 distinguishable ranks, the number of ranks I currently have up).

Posted 17 years agoOk, when I come across someone who draws approx. 8x better than me, I'm expecting him to have 8x the watches. However, when he's only got about 1/3 of mine, something is wrong!
This is an effort to solve that problem.
