Recovering from Covid
General | Posted 3 years agoI made it three years but it finally caught up to me. One of my buddies got sick with what she thought was food poisoning that turned out to be covid. Whoops. So she gave that to me and I got my ass handed to me for a week.
I'm starting to feel better so I am going to get back to work today. This does mean I'm running behind and I am still going slowly. I'll be working up to double time to get these commissions out as quickly as possible. Those with stricter due dates will be sent out first, others will come soon behind.
I will still be opening Commission spots for December tomorrow so I can have that work lined up. I will also be opening cheaper warm up sketches soon to help with the holidays and evil medical bills on my plate. Not to mention my landlords raising the rent for the fourth year in a row.
Thanks for those showing so much patience. Way too many obstacles have been thrown at me recently and its put my schedule all out of order for too long. Hoping to get everything back on track.

General | Posted 3 years agoFor those waiting I am sorry! Openings will be tomorrow on Tuesday the 27th. Due to running a little behind in every area because of new medical issues. They have been slowing me down off and on (nothing serious just uncomfortable!) and I needed to push off opening till Tuesday. I know I usually open on the 4th weekend but I just needed a few more days this week to get things in order.

Probably will rename monthly 'sketches' under the 'quick art' title for better clarity in journals. Considering Price changes / Restructure
General | Posted 4 years agoWith rent having been raised on me yet again, not to mention the breakneck inflation, I am going to have to restructure my pricing. I may simply add a percentage increase on the pricing I have now, but I am also considering restructuring some prices to include savings on certain images. Such as half bodies or bust requests. I never really set up a pricing scheme for those and am unsure if anyone is interested. I can also offer linework and black and white sketches again. They never sold all that great in the past, but the option might be desired.
I also need to do a write up on ways to more easily grab regular slots, especially by theme/content. I have been in the habit of posting every commission I take on, and taking on just about every commission eventually. It might be time to be a little more strict with what I share on my account, if only not to pigeonhole myself into a few niche themes. I do draw and enjoy much more than what I am often hired for. (Edit/clarification: I am not refusing to draw any particular themes. I am attempting to broaden them. I don't think I will ever quit drawing anything in particular.)
This isn't to say I don't enjoy drawing for anyone or appreciate my clientele. The pool of people to work with are amazing and I am treated unfathomably well by all of you. As my page says "Good customers are as rare as latinum." Forgive some corniness here, I do treasure you.
So these are just some thoughts being laid out. Input is always appreciated. I might sit down tomorrow to fix up new pricing or commission options. If not they will likely be implemented in April.

*There are no longer scheduled dates. These are monthly batches with a loose timeframe. A few commissions may spill into the beginning of the following month.*

*no consecutive orders. That means if you successfully grabbed a slot last month you will have to wait till next (February) to order again.*

Married / Recovering from being sick
General | Posted 4 years agoHey everyone! Sorry for being quiet. I had just gotten married (overly due to my partner of 10+ years) and then came down with a rather nasty upper respiratory infection immediately after. I'm still recovering but am doing much better. You can start to expect updates again in a few days when I can focus again. Those of you waiting to see who got slots will need to wait at least another day. I'll be pulling names tomorrow or the day after. In the meantime you can still get a request in since I haven't closed submissions. Just read my previous journal... Sorry for the wait and lucky me I didn't get super sick till literally the day after the ceremony hah.
