the struggle to overcome(rambley journal :D)
Posted 9 years agothats how art feels sometimes, it an be so satisfying, but so frustrating when you see feel what you are drawing isnt good enough, and you cant find out where the improvements are needed. i have been there for a few weeks now, i draw, but i am not satisfied and know i could be better, so the struggle is on. you observe other artists, admire and envy how they do things, and try o find your own way to look as good as them, but in your own special way. what is art after all but self-expression and admiration of both the world and other artists, as well
the hardest part about doing something you love is the drive to do ti the best you can, and the challenges along the way. but thats also the part that keeps you doing it. as much as i want to be at a point where im happy with art, those moments i have learned will be few and far between, and ill learn to cherish each and every time it happens.
to anyone wanting ot learn art, hang in there, its gonna be hard at first. and to those who are well along that road, im always looking up to you guys. you people make me want to be better, always.

the point to it, i have always dreamed big. it is of late i realized in the last few years, my dreams , my big dreams, have become so much more humble. is it a loss of confidence, or growing up? realizing that you cant have the world in the palm of your hand sometimes, no matter what you do, but you can get a chunk, or apiece, by setting realistic expectations. i always use to tell myself, and others and still do" aim for the stars, because even if you fail, at least you touch the sky" maybe part of me is settling for the sky, but i wonder....does that mean that i am seeing things more realistically, or did i just set the pole back?
not vent or mopey, sorta reflective and curious, you know =3 like to know your thoughts on dreaming and goals

Posted 9 years agoim working through commishes and stuff, nearly done and got some comic commishes, while working through the ych! ill post it up tomorrow and if any changes are needed, i will do those post haste! its not the way i usually do things, but i will be no less studious in fixing errors asap!
as for my comic....i have been thinking and, well, emily has 2 friends. she needs more! im thinking of offering slots on my patreon, at one of the tiers, probably the last one, for cameos int he comic. these are for consistent cameos, meaning you wont be just on the side, and will have some limited input on stuff and free to make suggestions and ideas that might be implemented! alternatively, ill also be selling cameos for my comic to anyone, bus driver, teachers, principal to fill out the world! its gonna be a good week worth fo craziness for emily, so we need people she will see consistently!
let me know if your interested, and ill make a journal later, when i wake up, with a list of open slots and prices and get your feedback on it <3 since emily production is shaping to speed up, i figure if people want in for a small fee, it would be fun !

Posted 9 years agoso, there is a thing i have been on and off with post school scene with emily...and i figure fuck it, i cant decide, you guys
when she gets home, the original concept was for certain rules being broken, she spends the night diapered and straightjacketed around the house. because me affection for straightjackets this was pretty natural for me to fit it in....but it feels...toneally out of place, because the only point in the current iteration for the jacket is to link the world with committed(imagination is so out of control at times...)
this is where you come in. personally the straightjacket is purely form my fascination with such things and was never planned ot make a return appearance in the other chapters. bt i could easily have the same effect but leave out restraints. do you guys think i should go the old direction before the rewrite, with jackets? i can toss up teasers of what it would look like on patreon and such, if people vote either way, but for the whol eof my viewers i want your opinion ouo

committed comic getting amajor focus /hows the layout?
Posted 9 years agoso im gonna be working chapter to chapter, so emily will take a short break after page 7, till committed is done chap 1. then ill switch over(ill still be doing emily pages, just slower) but i want to know if the layout is good so far. im trying boarderless, but is it clear and easy to follow? woudl you prefer i go more traditional and add more boarders?

ever get discouraged artists watching you dont comment?
Posted 9 years agoi see them comment on other artists, but not me. to be honest, it makes me feel like them watching me was jsut being nice, but im not really worth their attention. its upsetting and its why i dont comment on many artists. i want to socialize with my fellow artists and it makes me feel like many think im either not worth the attention, time, or effort, or my art isnt worth giving me consideration of a comment. it is honestly one of the most discouraging aspects of posting, and i am sure im not the only one.
thoughts, comments, etc?What do you guys think? and i dont want excuses or a bunch of"oh i would but i dont know what to say"if you know what to say to others, you know what to say to me, you just have no interest. i dont mean it to be blunt or dickish, i really dont, but i always want to engage other artists but to engage them, not be responded to, and then never hear form them, it is a bit frustrating as i want to be involved with other artists.
