Oral Exam and California

Since I don't update this as much as I need to, a few-line update is in order.
Last Tuesday I passed my thesis proposal / oral exam, which is milestone 3 of 4 towards my PhD. I now have until June 2018 to finish my dissertation.
I'll also be in California starting Friday, June 7th for 2.5 weeks. First a conference near Berkeley (June Frolic!) before driving down to the LA area for family stuff.

If that's the case, that's two EMT's I've known killed by drunk drivers, and nearly the 4 years after Furp's murder by a drunk Marine.
