Plans for May!
Posted 3 years agoStarting Monday I will be working on my first full comic. Since this is a larger comic, I wont be working on very much other art until it is complete. It will have 4 pages, and include multiple fullbody shots. As well as close ups of the best parts, of course ;3
I'm very excited!
I'll still be posting the panels in advance for patrons! Just like normal artwork 💕I just wanted to let you all know so there's no surprises. I plan on finishing it before the month is over, but if it goes well, I may be open to more comic commissions in the future!
Also do not be alarmed when I raise prices again. (I will probably do it tomorrow). My prices are going to be much higher however, ych prices will be the same as before. Patreons get a discount too btw!
This is because #1) I love y'all(No really I mean it) and #2) Working with new clients takes a lot of time. I don't want to feel rushed with them. Also #3) I need to actually start making enough money to support myself ^////^)
My biggest flaw rn is that I feel bad for charging y'all for art. (If I could, I would make it free but uhh that's a really bad business model....)
My goal is to go from $300-$600 a month(what I'm making now) to at least $800-$1,000. That way I can start paying back my debts. :) Part of that will be more art in general as well, assuming my wrist holds up! If I cant meet this goal, I will have to get a part time job. That will likely mean half(or less) the art I'm making now, with a larger focus on ych since I will have less time. (Ngl I really don't want to do that)

Spring Cleaning!
Posted 3 years agoI'm going to be tidying up my account over the weekend! I don't plan on deleting any art but a lot of older work will be stashed away in scraps. If for whatever reason, you need a copy of something let me know! I have everything stored away on a flash drive and I should be able to find it for you. ^u^)
Quick update
Posted 3 years agoHey-o just wanted to update yall~
My wrist pain has been back in full force so I'll be working a tad slow this week. I've decided to work on a few YCHs instead of opening my regular commissions. Just until my wrist starts to feel better. With YCH work I feel like I can plan better around my pain and not overwork it to much.
When I do open normal commissions back up I most likely will keep large background and multi character pieces off the table for a while. While I love doing those, they're more of a drain physically and financially at the moment.
I also want to experiment with more ych work overall. I have like 2 years of ideas scattered over my PC. (Both sfw and nsfw) Rn I plan to keep them around the price of my regular comms, one slot mostly. No auctions (unless I do something super detailed at some point maybe?)
Let me know what cha think, or if you have any good wrist pain tips lol. Right now I just have it in a brace, trying to take it easy~
Oh also I leaned you can press windows key+"." for emojis so I've been having fun with that

Commission prices update+ future plans
Posted 3 years agoThere will be a $10 increase in all commissions once I clean out my current queue. However I do plan on doing sales more often. More specifically, I'm thinking of doing rounds of slots with only single character full-bodies or icons at a lower than normal price. YCH stuff too maybe?
I burn out a lot faster on the huge projects. And due to the slower pace I've been working at, I'm running out of money...
I want to get a large number of smaller commissions out in the next month or so. Once the weather in my area starts to clear up I will likely be getting a local part time job. I don't plan on stopping commissions completely but they will slow down significantly when that happens. I'm sorry this isn't my most cheerful update... But I do want to keep everyone aware of the situation. The "important" part of the journal kinda ends here but I would like to go on a mini dive into my recent feelings in the next paragraph. Don't feel obligated to read it though if you dont want to. It is kind of a vent.
Having my entire income rely on my art is becoming very stressful. I don't work fast enough so my only options are to rush, make very little money or charge more. I feel like a selfish ass every time I raise prices. Especially when it comes to regulars who have stuck with me my whole art career. I would love to be able to do this full time, forever, but right now I'm bleeding cash. (I'm worried all the savings I have left are about to go to dental work that I'm putting off.) I feel like a freeloader in my own home. Other than my office furniture nothing here is mine. I cant afford things the way my partner can. He takes on all the bills, minus food. Pretty much all my commission money goes to food and stuff for the house.
I've just felt really useless lately...
I should clarify that while money is something I'm worried about, this is NOT meant to be me begging. I don't want you to donate because of this, that's not the point I'm trying to make. There are definitely artists who are struggling more than me who need your support more than me. I've just been incredibly stressed out and wanted to vent to you all a little bit. Thank you for letting me get some things off my chest.

I need your opinions!
Posted 3 years agoI have a question, mostly targeted to commissioners. Do you prefer the slow trickle waiting list setup I currently have, or would it be better for me to open Slots in bulk (around 5) twice a month around the same time each month?
The benefits of the slow trickle is that I can stay open, and people can come in as they please. And when commissions are coming in slow, I can start and finish very quickly. However when I start to pick up traction, it can be hard to give good estimates on wait times. Especially if anything slows down my work. Also I end up picking up more work than I can handle since its hard to judge reply times. That starts to clog the system too. I tried to open a slot system with a commission forum a long time ago, but it failed pretty bad. Almost everyone ignored the forum or just asked me to dm them when slots where open. That would be fine, but I'm starting to get a little overwhelmed with the number of people asking me about commissions. It's especially hard because it spans multiple accounts (discord, telegram, FA, & email). And I feel bad when I cant get back to everyone in a timely manor.
If the slots worked however, it could potentially give new people space to commission me, since my slots typically close with most of them filled by regular clients. (I do love you guys tho uwu y'all literally put food on my table)
What are your thoughts? I really want to make sure things go smoothly for everyone.
In cause your shy, here's a link to send an anonymous message. Critiques are welcome :3

New TOS Finished
Posted 3 years agoWhat started out as some revisions has turned into a complete re-write of my tos. A complete copy will be linked below. You will also be able to find it on my website as well as my commission tab on FA. If you have any questions let me know. :3 Nothing huge has really changed. Its mostly just the same thing I have been doing but put into professorial words.
The only big changes are
1) The clarification between having a slot vs being on the waiting list,
2) Deadlines and clarification on timelines(for example how long you to pay the invoice) &
3) The artist/client rights.

Temperarily closing commissions + TOS update
Posted 3 years agoHere's just a quick update to keep everyone in the loop. I will temporarily be closing commissions while I catch up on my current work.
Afterwards I may switch to a batch system like I see other artists do, where I open a limited number of slots a week and start them asap instead of the slow trickle of taking in work that I currently do.
I will also be updating my tos to be more clear and readable as well as make a few minor changes. I will make another post about that once it's done. That post will include the exact changes made.
Thank you for reading! Have a lovely rest of your weekend :3
(also if anyone would like to send critique or advice about TOS or my commission process please do so now. This is really good time since I'm already concertinaing making changes and advice is always welcome)

Looking for Graphic designer/advertising designer
Posted 4 years agoI'm not sure the best place to look but I thought I would ask y'all first. Do you know of, or are you, a graphic designer? I'm trying to find someone to hire to help me design adverts for my fa page. Dm me with some examples of your work if you're interested or lemme know if you know a good site to find someone to hire! Thank you!
I will pay, this isnt asking for freebies~ But I do wanna specify I'm looking for an ad designer or someone in marketing to help me, not new art rn ^///^) Hope that makes sense?

Taking holiday time off
Posted 4 years agoI will not be available between Dec 24th and Jan 3rd! My partner is getting time off and I would like to spend a week with him~ After the 3rd, business will be back to normal. I currently have around 6-7 commissions that need to be done before then. As well as the YCH I just posted. Any new work will likely not be started until after January 3rd. However if you don't mind the wait and would like to book a spot in line let me know!
Vr Chat?? +3d modeling
Posted 4 years agoMy bank account is sad as ever but my Index arrived today! Its the most expensive thing I've ever bought but I kinda saw it as a fursuit, video games and workout equipment all in one soo its cheaper and good for my health?? Maybe? If things don't work out I'll resort back to the quest 2 :p
I plan on getting it set up by this weekend, if anyone wants to hang out on vr chat, lemme know~
Also let me know if you have any good avatar tutorials. I would LOVE to dive deeper into 3d modeling. I have a pretty decent grasp on Zbrush. But I'm kinda a newbie with blender, even tho Ive had it longer. And I haven't gotten into substance painter yet but I might. What worries me most is face rigging and expressions. ^////^ I do have experience with re-texturing, and rigging tho! (I haven't done weight mapping however. I kinda know how but not really tried it yet) also off topic but I may start making sims 4 furniture too, its simple in comparison, and will help be get better at blender X3
Ive been listening to tutorials in the background while I work on commissions, so if you have any lemme know! I wanna learn to make them from scratch. Yes I know that's a huge deal and much harder than re-texturing but I have some experience and would love to dive deeper into it :3

What do you all prefer?(art style question!)
Posted 4 years agoHeyo! I had a quick question for everyone. I'm currently tied between two different art styles. One with shorter/slimmer muzzles and bigger eyes. (More anime-ish) OR ones with thicker longer muzzles and smaller eyes.(Aiming for semi-realism) Which do you prefer and would like to see more of? I guess a better question is would you like to see my style push more towards anime style work that's colorful and exaggerated or more realism?
If visuals work better for you here are some artist I think of that are very good in these kinds of styles:
For the anime style inspiration comes from people like:
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/tofu93/
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/ulitochka/
https://www.furaffinity.net/user/iwbitu/
For realism I'm thinking along the lines of:
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/twistedhound/
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/pixelsketcher/
https://www.furaffinity.net/gallery/hale./
I could list more artists I like but I don't want to overwhelm people ^////^) I really want to solidify an art style so I can focus more or creating and refining my work and less on trying new styles ^/////^) I feel like my work style fluctuates more than I would like it to right now. If it was more stable I could focus on polish more, or get more work done overall!
Input is welcome, please! I know my perception of my own work will always be skewed so its hard to make these choices by myself sometimes. And opinions or critique is welcome in the comments below or heck, DM me! :3 What do you like? What do you hate? Lemme know! I genuinely would like to have a conversation about it. Don't worry about accidentally coming across as rude or anything. This is a welcome invitation for critique :3

Cleaning Account!
Posted 4 years agoI moved some of my older works to the scraps page. If you ever need a new copy of something cuz you cant find it or you lost it, let me know! I keep all my art backed on a flashdrive. This includes the renders I sent to you, as well as the original clip files. On a rare occasion I may loose something but I'm pretty sure everything is backed up. If you need anything just send me a note and let me know when the piece was started so I can find it in my folders :3 (they're organized by month/year)
Commission Notice!!!
Posted 4 years agoYou may or may not know that I give myself self imposed deadlines on my commissions. Since this is my full-time job, I have to do that to make a living. With one character pieces, the prices I currently have do pretty well. Assuming I'm working hard and everything runs smoothly. To be more specific, if I finish 2 full bodies a day I make $8.75 an hour. However the bigger the commission the longer it takes me and I would like to be able to put more time into my very large works. (Ones with 3+ characters) Currently I have a steep discount on extra characters. I've had that discount since I started. And I want to keep it! But I think I may change it depending on the number of characters in a piece, that way larger pieces can get the time and love they deserve and I can still pay my bills ^////^) I'll be putting up a graph to explain it better on my commission page shortly. :3 The changes won't be huge, and 2 character pieces will sill have the same price as they always have for now.
Also feel free to let me know your thoughts! Or tips even? I'll admit pricing is incredibly difficult and I hate having to ask people for money, even if its a product they're buying form me. Unfortunately I have to do that so I can afford to put all of my time onto my work. I've been trying to increase my speed instead of my prices but I can only do that so much.
EDIT: After doing the math its very difficult to figure out how to keep the discount on some tiers without having weird issues with my pricing. If anyone has ideas please contact me! For now I'll be taking the discount off of my site, but that doesn't mean I'm committed to charging full price for extra characters. (I'm not necessarily trying to raise my prices right now. I'm just trying to make them more consistent and evenly priced!)

What would you like to see?
Posted 4 years agoI want to start sprinkling in more personal art between commissions. :3 I have a ton of things in queue already but once Im through the stuff I promised, what would you like to see? Some ideas I had where:
*Animal crossing fan art (+18) Not all of them tho, that would take too long ^///^)
*Redrawing old art(Anything in particular you would like to see? lemme know!)
*Bringing back and redesigning Blaire.
Literally any of these characters I keep telling myself I'll finish and draw:

Don't want all my eggs in one basket kinda deal. But is twitter worth it? Do you have any tips for posting art there or finding other artists?
And lastly whats your account cuz I'll follow you uwu

Taking a day off
Posted 4 years agoHey-o, just a small update. My wrist pain started to come back late yesterday when I was working and instead of pushing through it I decided to take today off. I would much rather voluntarily take one day off than be forced to take another long break (3 weeks I think it was last time?) My plan is to go back to work tomorrow assuming everything goes well. :3 I just want to play it safe. There shouldn't be any major delays or anything since I'm making good time on the commissions I've started already. I have three started and three in queue. My goal is to finish three or four this week and the last one or two next week, meaning my queue might be empty for the first time in a long while.
