Princess has moved to another castle
Posted 9 months agoWe knew it was gonna happen and soon, but my eldest cat, princess, passed on at some point in her sleep last night at nearly 20 years old. I had already left for work not knowing, thinking she was just still asleep and my spouse had found her after waking up some hours later. She did try to stay active all the way up to the end: eating, drinking, going to the litter box and doing her patrols as much as she could. She had passed on the position of enforcer to our, now, middle cat, Kitkat and peacekeeper to our eldest dog, Autumn. Autumn slept next to her last night until this morning when I took the two dogs out, sitting next to her when we came back in. I only realized now she was trying to protect her friend from Maple (younger dog and princess’s adopted daughter) who is still very rambunctious. She was a very caring cat and knew just when she was needed. Got me through a lot of tough times over the past 15 years. We even moved across the country to be with my spouse and we all moved across the nation again later on. She made sure all the other pets were cared for and often greeted visitors when they came over. She was a good cat and will be missed by us all.
The Importance of Diversifying Where You Post

It's fortunate to have Fur Affinity back but it left many completely in the dark. Many artists not knowing where else to post their art to reach their watchers and viewers not knowing where to find their favorite artists.
Please make accounts on different gallery sites.
For artists please cross post all your art to those sites. Postybirb is excellent for this.
For watchers, follow your favorite artists/writers/composers/ect everywhere. Let them know you are there. Yes you will see the same thing pop up on multiple sites. Heck, send them the same comments on each site. If you mark something as a favorite at one place, do the same elsewhere.
In short, we shouldn't be panicking about losing our favorite art and artists and our followers because just one site went down.
also, I'm assuming most do already, but artists, always keep at least one physical backup of anything you make so it can be re-uploaded just in case the worst happens and the server gets wiped or rolled back.
The same goes for commissioners. Keep at least one physical backup of anything you have received.

Posted 4 years agoIt seems that even after all the precautions that my mate 
remanicart and I took, we still wound up getting the coronavirus. Right now I'd rate it at about an 8 on the "how sick I've even been" scale.

Posted 6 years agoyay, its my hatchday. unfortunately things aren't going great but aren't super bad either.
Quick run down - just moved last month with a job transfer. when i transferred i went from a full time position to a part time position (i wasn't told this until a week before we moved). could possibly have a good FT job but i cant seem to get any of my former managers to call the company that apparently really want me there. and to top it all off, one of our cats might have crystals in her urine (possible precursor to a UTI)
so yeah, not great, but not terrible atleast?

im going to be working my ass off at, well, work

Friend needs help

Her computer died and is unable to raise any money to get it fixed. She uses it for her art and this is the only way she can get any money without selling parts of the computer itself. If you are able to send her money please send it to her paypal at CatchDreamWeaver[at]AOL.com

hacker warnings

Rumor has it there is hacker on FA, hacking people and blocking our friends to make them block us. You'll then be banned from FA.
Write the same warning in your journal to protect not only yourself but everyone! Here's another warning: If I'm being a jerk, saying stuff like "Shut up", "Get lost" or "I don't want to see you on my homepage anymore", (or anything negative really) that's not really me. That's the hacker.
Write all of this down in your journal too!
Please do this, it's for the safety of everyone!
Forward this message before someone gets hacked!

also have one cat. will alternate monthly between bed (room) and futon (living room) until a two bedroom unit is available.
