For those of you who may have tried logging into sierranevadafurs.com you have seen that the site is offline. This is only temporary. Our domain registry is having DNS errors and is working on the problem. Until this issue is fixed, our alternate domain, renofurries.com , is operational. Our alternate domain does not support all features of the SNF domain, but it is still usable.

This years Fur-B-Que is going to be held at Idlewild Park in Reno, off Cowen Street directly behind the public swimming pool. We will be setting up around 10am; bbq food will be provided by master chef Tyco and any additional food/snacks/drinks/alcohol that attendees want to contribute is encouraged. The park is in a nice area with lots of grass and trees adjacent to the Truckee river and easily accessed off the I-80 Keystone exit, and is also on a major RTC bus route with a stop right in front of the public swimming pool.

This years Fur-B-Que is going to be time well spent for anyone who wants to come as it sounds like we are going to have a decent turn out so come out and have a good time with us! If you have any questions feel free to contact Tok_furrydawg

I know the annual barbecue has normally happened earlier than now, but with BLFC over it is time to start planning this year's BBQ. Let's start with tentative dates.

I'm thinking a Saturday to allow for travel for any out-of-towners and less chance of people working. Maybe we can hold it after July 4th weekend so that there is time to put proper planning and those who work Saturdays can have time to request the day off.

The last two years all planning has normally fallen to one or two individuals. Is anyone willing to volunteer?  baseprogression has volunteered to help. He got the first BBQ together, so he have a pretty good idea of what is needed.  tyco got a lot of Cali visitors last year, so he could be a resource for spreading the word if anyone wants to help market it. We also need ideas and maybe a contact for activities.

Last year baseprogression tried to organize bowling, go karts, mini golf, blank light golf and water park events, but that fell through due to lack of early responses (yeah... plan ahead. lol), but there was a bowling meet that night anyway. So this could be something to look into. baseprogression says Wild Island was able to package bowling, etc. together for relatively cheap and were happy to get us designated space in one of their party garages.

Please comment and spread the word! We have a lot of new furs and have seen that many more will travel for this event. =^/-\^= Let's make it a growing success!

Howdy, everyone! I know it's been a while since there has been a decent update here, but there's a new event next month! On Saturday, March 2 there will be a meet at the GSR to include Fursuit bowling, go karts and goofing off. We'll gather in the early afternoon (exact time TBD) and just have fun!

Hey everybody! It's been a few months since we've had one of these and I think we could all use a little recoil therapy. Since UNR gets out December 19th I was thinking that December 20th would be a great time to head out to Derby Dam (where the last few shoots have been) and go have some fun!

You are REQUIRED to bring earplugs and of course if you can bring any guns/ammo/or even a few bucks to kick in that is always welcome as this meet tends to be very expensive for the furs that do bring guns and ammo to share.

Filming for the BLFC video is today, starting at noon. It will be an all-day event, culminating with a room party at the hotel. Help is certainly going to be needed and there will be lots of fun things to do between locations.

Come by the GSR and be ready to help out. Again, filming starts AT noon!

The SNFurs would like to extend the warming wishes of a happy Thanksgiving to all our members, friends and families. Politics and history aside, this is a day to chow down, watch football and reflect on the good parts of our lives. As a group, we at SNFurs are incredibly thankful for the progress of our furry community, its ambition, the closeness of our members and the many great people to join our ranks.

As for football, we will be watching the Redskins vs. Cowboys.

The filming of the BLFC promo video has been finalized and will be shot at noon this Saturday at the Grand Sierra Resort!  baseprogression and  pegalis will be at the GSR all week, getting details worked out, but the Social media office, VP of facilities and security departments are all ready to let the SNFurs shoot!

Please show up a little before noon so shooting can be staged and suiters can get into costume. At the shoot, pegalis will be the lead, so follow his instructions. Some furs may get tasked to assist in herding the suiters and getting shots taken care of.

Fursuiters ARE needed. So if you have a suit and are free that morning or know someone who is, please attend. If you cannot make it, please consider sending the fursuits. Non-suiters, you may be asked to wear suits at times to help with productions.

This is going to e a lot of work, but will be very fun! Who is ready?!

We are creating a mailing list to send out weekly from the renofurs[at]gmail.com account. It will just be a mass email with a quick update of what is going on in the community. It will include news and links to active forum threads, BLFC notices and FA page updates. The idea is to keep people coming back to the forum and other SNF sites in the hopes our active ranks won't drop off again. It will also serve as a more accurate roster of furs in the area.

We just need your name and email. You may post it here if you wish or you can PM it to this account with the subject: "Mailing List." Be sure to tell other SNFurs so they can keep up to date with all the community events!

Base here: I'm going stir crazy and need to get out of the house for something. Let's go see Skyfall at Parklane tomorrow. The 12:05pm time is late enough for us late sleepers while still being early bird priced. After that we can probably hang at my place or something. We could turn it into a BLFC registration party! I still have drinks left over from my Thirst 'n Howl.

 pegalis and  baseprogression are working on an ad video for BLFC and have been granted full access to their media site as well as granted permission to film a fursuit promo video at the hotel.

As for the video, the rough story board is drawn, music selected with rights in the works; all that is needed is an HD camera and actors! Suiters from the Bay Area will be in the area, they are hoping to recruit draft all local suiters. If you do not have a suit, they might still be able to use you in case there are more suits than bodies or a suiter needs a break. This will be up to each suiter of course, but it's something that will be needed. If you are a suiter and don't want to act or cannot attend, the use of your suit would also be greatly appreciated.

The tentative filming will be Thanksgiving weekend and will most likely last a few days. There will be some scenes filmed both before an after the weekend as filler or teasers.

It will be hard work but a lot of fun! Details of an after party are not certain yet, but you can be sure there will be an amazing Base party to celebrate! =~/-\^=

UPDATE: One fur has already offered to the use of his camera and to help film. I would like to have a back up camera in case his can't make it for some reason.

Hello everyone! As some of you have probably noticed there has been a sudden jump in watches, favs, invites, and submissions. This turned out to be a pretty hectic summer and the SNF page took a hit in updates. We're very sorry about that, but things are rolling again!

We're proud to welcome baseprogression back to the moderator pool and an extra warm welcome to djarums as a new moderator! In conjunction with the Sierra Nevada Furs forum we'll keep everyone in the area abreast of the latest goings on, meets, parties, news and other Sierra Nevada stuff. Howdy y'all! Things have been pretty slow here lately and we apologize. With school starting up, planning for the BLFC (more details coming soon) and busy furs, the local FA has suffered. Now we are coming back, and will hopefully be stronger than ever! Starting off the Fall fun....

 baseprogression is going to host this 3rd Halloween party this Saturday! Now that he's got a house and the beginnings of a sweet party pad, the party is no longer a pre-Zombie Crawl party but the inaugural "Thirst 'n Howl Party!" Everyone is invited!

This is a house party, so remember your manners when visiting. There will be food, games, friends and, since this is a Base party... lots of drunk people! As with the previous two years, Base is inviting his party members to join him on Reno's Zombie Crawl.

There is more! On Sunday, Base and bowtie are hosting a bowling meet at Sparks' Coconut Bowl. There will be bowling, fursuits, Indy cars and blacklight mini-golf!

Base is a real party cat and these Halloween parties are a big yearly event in the Biggest Little furry community. Come by and have fun!

 trandafirruby will be hosting a SUSHI meet on 4/21 at Sushi Moto in Fernley. She is family of the owners, and will be making the rolls and serving. Sorry it's taken a while and updates here have been sparse, but progress is being made! There is now a site for the Sierra Nevada Furs group! At the moment, it is bare bones but it is getting updated and should look pretty good very soon. First and foremost is a new forum for our community. This took priority as it is the arena in which most of the planning and discussion of local events is taking place.

The infancy of this site is the most crucial. So please join and keep active until a good infrastructure is in place. Soon we hope to have a gallery, news page and mailing list. Once the mailing list is set up, a weekly newsletter will be sent to everyone to keep our members up to date on the latest goings on.

There will also be multiple administrators and open policy meetings to avoid any drama and favoritism as well as to hash out new and exciting ideas for our community.

Also in the group news,  hanyoneko is taking over kieunta's position here as one of our FA admins. A big "welcome" to her!

 baseprogression is starting up some bowling fun! Things he's planning are a website, a national furry league and... A mini-con/"championship" at the National Bowling Stadium!!!!
