Okay so first of all, my delay time is over. I feel a lot more refreshed, I managed to get most of the house in order, finished unpacking and revived my confidence with larger commissions. (Oddly enough when I don't do full body commissions for a period of time I start to believe I've forgotten how.) The bonus for you guys is even though I finished unpacking I still haven't found my WoW authenticator, and due to my stubbornness and refusal to remove it, I won't be playing til I find it. So there are no additional distractions due to that.
Secondly, while I still do need an income, I won't be taking many additional commissions on for as long as I can manage. I may still do some YCH stuff or the odd single slots but very recently I've taken on a couple of projects (granted one is relatively small), and will need some additional spare time to work on them, especially one I have due in October. On top of that there is of course my calendar that I refuse to go over time with this year. It WILL be done by or at least during November and available for sale by December. I will do my best to come up with some solid ideas for my patreon so that I have even a small amount of additional income to support this time period.
Some good news is I have but a mere 3 outstanding digital commissions for FurDU and 3 traditional ones. Considering the 40 or so all up I had, that feels pretty awesome. My July queue is starting to work itself down as well. I'll try to make a start on a few more ref sheets soon as I have been neglecting them a little. I think it will be a long time before I take on ref sheet commissions again, I don't enjoy them so much at the moment. That said I will of course finish the ones I have with love and quality!
As for weekend work this month, there will be none. I try not to do any work on my weekends anyway, but so everyone's aware, I probably won't be active at all on weekends for a couple of weeks. The next two weekends I'll be in Melbourne for various reasons so other than right now, if you need something, you'll have to wait til Mondays.
And I think that's most it for now. I'll be sorting out all your high res stuff I didn't send out last weekend tomorrow!

I dunno what to do with it.
As a rewards based system I struggled keeping up with those rewards. As a project based funding system, well I genuinely don't have time or energy to put into the project yet.
I want to keep my patreon but I also want to make it worth everyone's while. I'm considering changing it back to a general patreon simply to support myself and my work but I don't know how I can do that, entice people to find it and still have time for everything else.
I was hoping for some advice or suggestions on an effective way to run a personal patreon. A way to keep it active and rewarding without burning out.
Any and all advice is welcome.
Also I know I have some notes I haven't replied to... I've been avoiding my computer the last couple of days.
2017 Calendar - Remaining Slots

I need to fill the remaining calendar slots even if I can't get to them for a month or two. Otherwise it's going to be too much of a rush come November (which I have free for once since quitting my job).
Again, here is the information you need to know:
- Calendar is 'Furries in Underwear'
- You character must have some form of underwear and the image must be PG.
- Up to two character may be involved per page.
- Month theme and image content are otherwise entirely up to you.
- Price is $150 AUD or $250 for 2 characters.
- Cover will become available when all pages are complete.

Some Delays and Updates

Having some motivation issues, but I think that's fair after 2 or 3 solid weeks drawing and having to face all the big commissions at once.
I'm closing the head shot special as I went a bit overboard taking them but I've got a good solid supply of cash to keep me going so I'm super grateful for that.
I may not get as much done as usual this week and I'm afraid last week's high res files will be sent out next weekend as once again I've fallen behind getting those small things done.
I got some new copic markers and refills so I'd like to set aside some work time this week just to sit and draw some animals or pokemon for myself.
But I'm really happy with how much I've been doing lately and all the happy customers so, thank you all and I'll do my best to keep it up!
Next special I do when I have my queue down a bit further will be chibis. I may hide the announcement like the last one though so eyes peeled!

Warm Up Queue

If you stalk my trello you may notice I've added a 'warm up queue' and moved a few of you over to it.
Those are what I consider 'small' commissions and will be using them to warm up for larger works each day. You may see that queue added to a little more frequently now that the entire queue is looking more manageable. basically that warm up queue could never look intimidating to me as I can realistically finish 4 - 5 of them a day.
I may be discarding the method I've been using (complete 5 take 2) soon as I'm almost in a position where I can confidently keep up with my queue again... almost. I am taking a few head shot commissions at the moment because I caved in to my addiction and I now have the warm up queue to put them on. But I haven't alerted everyone by calling this journal anything commission related. (I'm sneaky.)
So if you're interested I'm offering full detail head shots for $40 AUD and will close the form when I think I have enough or too many.

I'll only be doing 1 or 2 a day (if any) before I take on the main queue. It's nice to have a warm up piece to work on and it's nice to finish something if you've only got large works that might take a few days to finish.

After much thought I've come to a decision... I have demons to kill.
My work will slow because I intend to make the most of the new WoW expansion and find some old friends again. I need to run with a new crowd for a while. I'll still try to meet all my goals for the week.

Simply from looking at my queue it looks heaps smaller. Still stupidly long but so much better than it was thanks to working hard getting the smaller stuff out of the way.
So I'll now be taking 2 commissions for every 5 I complete. That way I'm still making a reasonable dent but my wallet can get fat again.
I didn't reach my goal of getting all the FurDU table tops done but I got more than 5 digital things done so that's a bonus I guess.
I'll be working a little over this weekend as I don't really have anything better to do so I'll be around if anyone needs anything. Also all high res stuff should be sent out.
Goal for this week:
All calendar pages in my queue sketched.
All telegram sticker commissions sketched.
All ref sheets sketched.

I wanted to do some YCHs but with a headache for half the day I didn't get a chance to sketch anything. I also have decided to let all commission types be on offer, I'm too tired to work out what I feel like doing, it's been a rough week.

At this rate I'll have two openings this weekend, I'm aiming for four. I, personally, would like to take even more Pokemon commissions but I know lots of you are waiting for other things so if I'm to open some slots, what types of commissions would you like me to take?
And no, unfortunately I won't just simply open for everything. I need to budget the openings right so that I'm earning enough money but not taking on projects too large.

Queue Counter Updated

I've updated the queue counter on my profile to include overdue contest prizes, raffle prizes, new commissions and basically just a re-count of the commissions I may have missed on my queue. I'm explaining this because the previous counter suggested I had less than 40 commissions left on my queue when realistically I did have other stuff I owed to people that just wasn't as urgent. It's time I took responsibility and got EVERYTHING done, so now even unpaid stuff counts.
So far there will be one commissions slot available at the end of the week. Let's keep working... whoo!
Goals for this Week!

I would like to be able to take 3 - 4 commissions at the end of this week, so I aim to do the following:
Complete all overdue table top commissions from FurDU. This should only take one day plus an additional half day to work out packaging and shipping.
Finish at least 5 digital commissions including one or two larger ones (as in not head shot or chibi).
Find some free time for myself to make a personal art piece, frankly I think I need a bit of creative for myself.
And that's all. It's not too much but it's still a fair handful.
In additional all full res files have been successfully uploaded so please check the links if they were broken yesterday.

My Commission Tab

I've updated my commission tab here on FA.
Most commission details are still only found on my website but I decided to add the experimental commissions and specials I was planning to take more of over July. This way I can give those commissions a short run on here before officially adding them to my website as a permanent choice. It also means I don't have to explain the details of each commission every time I offer them.
Check it out if you want an idea of what I'll be able to offer when my commissions open properly again... one day.
