SMASH BROOOOOOSSSS
Posted 11 years agoPosting this in case anyone was wondering where my art has been for the last few days. my life has been consumed by smash bros and I promise as soon as I can pull myself away from the game I'll get back to work!
Right now, I've cleared classic mode with around half the roster, I'm about three panels away from being done with the second challenge board and working on the third, I've got 230ish trophies and I've cleared All-Star mode with five characters. I haven't been this into a game in a long, long time and I can't wait to do it all again when the Wii U version comes out.
btw if you don't have the game yet BUY IT

Posted 11 years agoAlright, so, with my last batch of commissions, I switched to using invoices. However, I've since discovered that with invoices, there appears to be no way to set it so that it does not require the address of the one commissioning. AND, and I've ALSO discovered that, since there's nothing for me to actually ship, /technically/ my account could be flagged for not... shipping my stuff. OOPS. SO.
I will be returning to my previous method of payment, where the one commissioning sends the payment to my account. I'm just going to have to be much more strict, I suppose. Paypal really isn't kind to artists I guess.
A couple things, for commissioners: Please, don't leave a comment when you send the payment. Depending on the content of the comment, paypal can actually get me in trouble and ban me without warning. AND, please, PLEASE do not send the payment as a gift, always make sure to send it as "Paying for goods and services."

So, this time, I'm limiting myself, and actually making use of slots! Woo~. Also, I decided that I will be using paypal invoices from now on for commissions. Much safer for me, and just as easy as it was before for you guys!~

Smash 4 leaks!
Posted 11 years agoi don't generally discuss this sorta stuff here, but i'm going to this time because i'm EXCITED (warning, there will be SPOILERS below~)
so, for those who live under a rock and somehow haven't heard about this, almost the entirety of smash 4's roster was leaked like a week ago in the form of pictures (link: http://cdn.idigitaltimes.com/data/i.....8/21/21425.jpg ). people mostly shrugged it off, since the rumor didn't have much going for it in terms of validity at the time. however, yesterday, footage of bowser jr., shulk, and ganondorf fighting surfaced (which, i would link to, but nintendo pulled it all from youtube), and all of the above are characters that just so happened to be on that leaked character roster! the videos were incredibly convincing. the only real argument against them was that they were INSANELY well done brawl hacks, which is... an incredibly stupid theory for a number of reasons. and, at the same time, the leaker also posted a hoard of images showing off some other stuff like trophies, and menus, which you can see here http://nintendoeverything.com/super.....hies-and-more/
now, at that point, for me, i was convinced already. never before has there been a smash bros leak anywhere close to this scale, and it was pretty much impossible for it to be fake. and, go figure, today's smash bros Pic of the Day accidentally confirmed that the leaks were indeed 100% the real deal by showing us a menu we had never seen up until that point outside of the leaks:

Rant and commission info update! (EDIT)

I know I make a point of this with each commission journal, but I'm going to state it here. When you're buying a commission from someone, be SURE to send the paypal payment as "paying for goods and services," absolutely NOT a gift.
It's a nice thought, as when you send money as a gift through paypal, the person receiving the money doesn't have to pay any fees. However, if paypal catches someone dodging fees while they are conducting business and not TRULY receiving that money as a gift, THE ARTIST CAN BE BANNED. And, considering that this is, uh, my job, I would rather not enjoy having my only source of income snatched from me.
I'm making a point of this because despite telling people to send it as 'paying for goods', both in my commission journals and in the notes describing how payment will go down, a couple people seemed to have forgotten and sent commission payments as a gift, anyway. Which is uncool. Don't people banned, guys ;w;
But, so. The "Commission update," part. I've made a decision that from this point forward, I will no longer be handling payments how I have in the past, as I just really REALLY cannot risk losing my paypal. From now on, I will be sending paypal invoices to commissioners, and they will pay that way. This is easier for both parties, anyway, so.
SCRATCH THAT, I will not be doing invoices. What I will be doing is even more simple, on my end at least (thanks Hydro!). I will be sending a "money request" to your e-mail, through paypal. From that e-mail, you will be directed to a page where you can pay amount necessary. Super simple!

Posted 11 years agoAs much as I enjoy FA's simplicity and admire how little the layout has changed over the past few years, this site could really use an overhaul in a number of ways. some features I would find useful off of the top of my head: blacklist, the ability to group images into different collections, thumbnails that actually work, being able to flip through pages of shouts, the ability to upload multiple pictures together (like how inkbunny does it), etc, etc
FA is super duper bare bones and some features like that'd be nice, pls

Posted 11 years agoI'm INSANELY backlogged on commissions right now, and while I'd like to keep them open, for now, I need to close 'em so I can catch up on both those, and other stuff I owe. Posted 11 years agoI'm curious! Those of you that are aware of my commission prices, and are willing/able to buy them, I would like to know: what is the MAX amount of money you think you would be willing to spend on a single, full color commission from me?
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm not about to jump the gun and rocket my prices up to like $30 a pic, as I base my prices off of what I personally think my art is worth (and how much time I take), so the most you'll ever see from me at once is minor price increases. I'm just curious!

Posted 11 years ago--FA had some kind of blacklist feature. not for myself, i can look at most anything on here and not care. but like, i know that there are a lot of people following me that just like the clean diaper stuff, and not my messy stuff. which is entirely understandable!

Free Single Character Art Raffle~!

I'm gonna do a free art raffle, and it's gonna work like this~ (BE SURE TO READ THE WHOLE JOURNAL BEFORE REQUESTIN' PLS)
You post a comment on this journal, saying what you would like me to draw (please provide references!). Tomorrow, the 16th, at 5pm eastern time, I will tally up the number of comments and drop that number into a random number generator, which will pick the number of the comment that I shall draw~

I will not draw gore, extreme violence, nudity, visible scat, or extremely complex characters! And, for this raffle, please limit your request to a single character. Also, please link a reference of the character you'd like me to draw.
Also, if you'd like to post a journal of your own to help get word out about this raffle, that would be wonderful as well~

Posted 11 years agoAs I mentioned in my last few journals, I have a friend coming down to visit for a week. And, he's here now! So, while I will still kind of be around, I won't be here nearly as much until the tenth. And, while I will still slowly be responding to notes n such, there will definitely be no new art until I'm back. Sorry guys!

Typing shit using an on screen phone keyboard is annoying as fuck btw.
