This year's ConFuzzled was a much needed boost to my confidence and overall ability, and after much careful thought and consideration, I've decided to change my prices to better reflect my self-worth.

However - Art for me is a hobby, not a job.

I'm not sure how many people know this on FA, but here goes...

Last week I split up with Tiggie, my partner of 9 years.

We had been growing apart for the last 2 years (since moving out), and during the last couple of months I grew extremely depressed, I had no energy for self-motivation on getting out of bed, let alone artwork... it seemed I got very little sympathy from Tig (because he didn't love me anymore - which I didn't realize at the time).

I left the house with 15k worth of stuff, because it was generally all mine (aside from the computer I'm using at the moment, as it's Tig's but he let me have it because it works with the Cintiq - go figure).

Tiggie acknowledges he has done wrong - I don't expect anyone to understand, as I sometimes fail to understand, but that's all up to him now.
As long as he doesn't interfere with my life anymore, I'm allowing myself to let go.

We're still friends, and I hope he will respect my privacy.

I had been with him since I was 17 and I have learned more about myself during that time, just wish I could have seen it coming sooner...





However! that being said, there's a new horizon and I'm looking forward to the year ahead! ^^

There have been people waiting to talk to me, and I'm enjoying their friendship :3
I've never felt happier - knowing they're just a text/call away and I don't need to feel uncomfortable talking to them.

Overall I'll have a lot more time to improve myself as a person, and as an artist. :3

Happy New Year! :D

After a much-needed break, Confuzzled was the best way to get me back into the swing of things furry-wise ^^

Although the con was a little lacking this year as far as events to attend, as always I managed to have a good time regardless :P

The theme this year was... um.. odd to say the least - didn't have the time or money to get an appropriate costume. Was expecting "Retro Sci-Fi", and found it to be more of a comic book-like theme - the props were ok, but they didn't work for me.
The standee of Brok saying "You need to be this tall to enter" was too tall xD (by a good 4 inches at least)

We did decide on bringing our dog for the first night, just so he could experience the atmosphere without being too overwhelmed. We did get the complaint that he was crying when we left the room, but we had no choice at that time, otherwise the high-pitched squeals of "awww!" in the lobby would have wound him up further. He slept soundly that night, curled up between us. The next day he was off on a holiday of his own, playing with other dogs, swimming in lakes, splashing in muddy puddles and generally having a whale of a time whilst we checked his progress via videos on Facebook :P - He was ready for sleep by the time we had to pick him up and go home. ;D

I found the staff to be friendly on face-to-face, but whilst backs were turned, they turned, and we caught some of them taking the mickey out of some room signs (which, to be fair, the art had been scribbled like a 10 year old [as in no effort in even colouring in] and there were swear words on it - not the kind of thing we want to present the fandom)

I went to 2 panels, the first was on "Inflatable Construction" - which wasn't exactly aimed at beginners, but it gave a good insight to the processes that go into designing and making inflatables. They also found a lot of history behind the first inflatables, made of animal guts/leather, that was kinda cool.
The second panel was on "Fursuit Animatronics" - which was definitely aimed at beginners, as the designs dealt with LEDs, and moving ears. He showed us the heads for Faruku's 'Khajiit', and a fursuit called 'LDV' (so named because the ears flashed, mimicking the indicators of an LDV van). Nothing more complicated, but our friend Rico was listening very intently. Unfortunately I'm not technically inclined, so that's still a bit of mystery to me, but I like seeing what can be done to make suits more interesting/realistic.

The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, but too fractured, I got lost nearly every day ^^;
I liked that the Dance hall was next door to the Fursuit lounge, it was possible to hear through the wall on what songs were playing and whether it was worth getting up for a dance :P

I'm still not sure why the "Banner Brawl" was cancelled, but I did enjoy doodling on both banners regardless :P - drew Brok Badger on an Acme "Red Rocket", and a mugshot of myself next to Sofia/belo4ka (where are those banners by the way? that was after the art auction closed)

As the title says, I'm all paid up and going to Confuzzled next year - number 183 :3

It hurts to have to say this...
but as I still owe commissions, it's believed to be in everyone's best interests if I didn't have a Dealer's Den table.
It's one of the things I enjoy most though, as I like meeting everyone in person, where they know where I'll be and there's no confusion... and most other dealers are fun to just hang out with.

(Before anyone asks, I did originally ask for a table, then Tig decided to cancel it without consulting me... so it's out of my hands as far as that's concerned, but on thinking about it, it would be a little selfish of me)

I can't take Ace, our Border Collie, as planned either - since the hotel advises that dogs should only stay in the room, and I find that to be cruel for such an active dog.

but at least it's become more likely to go to Eurofurence next year too as a compromise. :3

People waiting for badges from Confuzzled are still being worked on between puppy, job and home life. No worries there, just there's a reason why all my commissions are closed.

In the spare time I do manage to get to myself, mostly spent on games or Second Life, there are still hecklers around :/

One of them (who hasn't spoken to me, or noted me in at least 5 years) decides to cause a fuss on SL about how I haven't drawn them their badge from 5 years ago... I don't even remember their name, I try and be polite but I'm just so pent up with anger about it. I explain I don't remember the name/fursona as it was too long ago.

Going to try and sell my Wacom Cintiq 21UX - It was a 21st birthday present to myself, and so has been lightly used but it's been treated with utmost respect and care (Using a cover when not in use, using a SmudgeGuard glove whilst in use and no food or drink allowed around it)

To my watchers and possible future commissioners
Due to recent events, and events yet to come, I will be doing my best to offer slots of mostly traditional and some digital commission work.

It seems we have to move from where we are currently staying (referring to Tig and I), and we will be struggling to find a deposit. So I’ll be opening for 10 slots at a time for traditional A5 sketches of up to 2 characters for a price of £10/$15USD.

PG-XXX are welcome. I don't like Rape, Scat, Adult Baby/XXX cubs, anything else is fair game.
You may write a comment in this journal, or note me. Estimated work time will be around 2-3 weeks (I still have a day job to go to). I will post these out (Free P&P for UK residents) and for US/Outside UK I will have to charge postage costs (should be fairly cheap). I would require full payment up front through Paypal.
I cannot offer refunds due to the nature of these commissions. I cannot offer digital pictures at this time, but will open after these are out of the way.
