Lack of updates and communication / Cat health upd
General | Posted 2 years agoHello! It's really been a while since I posted anything... And also commissioners could notice that updates take longer. I am truly sorry and want to explain what is happening.
In November-December my grandmother's health rapidly declined. And December 31 I spent on her funeral. I originally planned to take a couple days-off for the New Year celebration without affecting commissions schedule, but... yeah. It was unexpected and unsettled me.
When I thought I was back on track, I... adopted a kitten. I knew it wasn't the best timing, I was already close to deadlines and my own health acted up, but if you ever owned a cat you know how it happens: you don't choose a cat, a cat chooses you. He really needed a home.
And that's where I need an advice... And your positive stories of introducing two cats to each other ;w;
I tried to do everything right: put the kitten in a "base camp" where he could relax and get acquainted with a new environment, tried to keep routine for my senior cat, Luxray, as much as possible. Everything was fine for first 3 days, but when they made the first short (accidental) eye-contact at evening Lux became VERY anxious. He was perfectly fine acting normal at morning, then boom - vomiting, pooping, loss of appetite, ignoring everyone around. Next day I immediately bought a calming collar with herbs (since he would't eat any pills in this state) and I don't want to jinx it, but with the collar on he started showing interest to the surroundings, drank water and his ears are not hot anymore. But he still rejects food (but show some interest by sniffing). And I don't know what to do. Visiting a vet is the first thing that comes to mind, but it will be very stressful for him, I'm scared to ruin this slight improvement we have... But my anxiety forces me to overthink everything: what if it is a disease? What if I'm losing time? But also it shouldn't be anything contagious, the kitten is doing perfectly fine for now, he lived in a foster house for 2,5 months and the whole litter was (and is) fine. And he has been in a separate room this whole time. Idk... I've watched a tone of videos and read lots of comments (Kitten Lady, Jackson Galaxy, etc.). They confirm that such a behavior can be caused by stress and getting a new cat is THE HELL of a stress for a resident cat. And probably my boy is just anxious by nature (just like his parent ;w;) and needs help to calm down. Many recommend Feliway, but the price ugh.... And reviews are somewhat 50\50... I understand that pheromone-based thing can't be cheap, but it's really out of my budget. There's a cheaper herbal-based version Relaxivet, but reviews are 50\50 too... And it's still expensive for something with an indifferent result.. idk
For now, I watch Lux behavior and if he doesn't eat tomorrow I think I must take him to a vet for tests.
So that's why I'm so uncommunicative these days... Constant anxiety, worrying and depression are exhausting and sometimes I feel like I'm losing this battle. But I've been working on the commissions all this time, slower than I anticipated, but still. I am sorry for the lack of updates and making you worry about your commission ;;
UPD: I took Lux to the vet, they found some mild infection (didn't specify) and slight problems with kidneys, probably due to Lux's age (he is a grandpa, 14 y.o.). There was noticeable improvement after IV drips and antibiotics, but now when treatment is done he started sneezing non stop -_- And it's an alarming symptom for cats ;w; He definitely needs another vet visit... Oh boi.
He still didn't have any contact with the kitten and the kitten got his first vaccine shot by this time, I really hoped I could introduce them to each other soon ;w;
I'm sorry for venting here, it's all just so frustrating...
UPD2: Nevermind, seems he just inhaled some powdered medicine and it irritated his nose -_- It subdued by itself on the next day. It's miraculous how pets always find a new way to add grey hair to their owner's head -_-

Delay in communication and commissions
General | Posted 3 years ago Apologies to all my commissioners ;-; You may have noticed that I was inactive for some days, didn't post anything and didn't answer notes.
My cat injured his tail (or back, hard to tell) and I had to take him to the vet and then look after him. It wasn't clear what had happened and I didn't know what to expect. Thankfully, no bones were broken or dislocated and it seems to be just a bad bruise. He may need another check up in future, but for now he seems to feel better and is getting back to his clingy self.
It all put me off my stride but I'm returning to work ASAP so all commissions should be finished in time. I'm sorry for disappearing and very thankful for your understanding orz Important.
General | Posted 4 years agoWell… I still can't wrap my head around the latest «major historical events». It still feels surreal. I’m from Russia and seeing news from Ukraine makes me want to howl in despair. Never in my life have I ever felt so helpless and scared. All I want is for this cruel meaningless bloodshed to stop.
Drawing is the only thing that keeps me sane and it’s my only source of income. So, I keep working on YCHs and taking new ones, making adoptables, etc.
I am deeply grateful for everyone who has commissioned me or bought an adoptable character. From the bottom of my heart: thank you. You are saving my life quite literally. I want to continue to create, it always has been my ultimate dream. I try my best to not lose hope.
