I want to thank everyone for all the kind words and support regarding the news from the previous journal. It has been comforting and helping me get back on track with my life. As of now I'm doing better, although other things going on in my life right now is making my free time off work a chaotic mess but not for much longer.

Soon I'll have some time off work and finally get a chance to catch up on things and resume my passion for art. I really miss it. For now I hope you all are doing well and take care! :)

Hello everyone. I'm not sure where to begin, but I think it's time to let everyone know why I've been inactive the past few weeks. My mother was fighting a severe infection which took her life a couple of weeks ago. I just returned from the long trip to her funeral.

It all happened so fast that I haven't processed it all in my mind. I really miss her, she meant the world to me. I'm slowly returning back to my routine and life but it's been very very difficult. I don't know how long it will take until I get my art muse back.

I want to thank everyone for all the support during this time in my life. I'll be back to my normal self in time.

The raffle will only be opened for 48 hours, and closes @ 9 AM CST (14:00 GMT) on Tuesday May 4th.

I am only opening 2 slots at this time. The winners will be selected by RNG. If you haven’t been selected there will always be another chance the next round I open!

Hello! So I’ve updated my commission price sheet by adding a new tier (Color Shade) to the list, so please refresh the page to see the current one. After completing the Gulum-Ei piece, I really liked the results of that new style of work and would be offering it when I open tomorrow @ 14:00 GMT Sunday (please convert to your own time zone). The selection will be made on Tuesday after the raffle closes @ 14:00 GMT. The only other difference to the price sheet besides the aesthetics was bumping up the full render (digital painting) tier, which I will not be offering this coming round of commissions.

The selection process will be determined by RNG with the combination of two pools, one from FurAffinity and the other from Twitter. I will only have 2 slots available at this time since this will be my first time so I apologize if you don’t get selected this round, but there will always be a next chance!

I made an error with Gulum-Ei, I thought I had the levels and brightness adjusted correctly but it turned out to be too dark overall. So I updated it with the correct brightness and tones, so please hit refresh to view the updated version. Thank you!

I just uploaded my commission price sheet for anyone interested in what I have to offer. I will post a journal for my opening hopefully sometime in March (I'm waiting to reach 3K followers on Twitter). In the mean time I'm going to have some fun with gaming and catch up on chores. I will be working on some more art starting next week.

First I want to say happy late New Years everyone! It’s been a rough ride but I am remaining hopeful that this will be the year things will turn around for the better. And speaking of which, one of my goals of this year is to be more active with my art and find improvements with both my lineart and painting.

Along with that, another part of my resolution is to prepare myself, both mentally and skillfully, to finally open for commissions. I have yet to create a price sheet as I’m still evaluating what my prices should be, another reason why I am not prepared yet. I may also only open for 1 or 2 slots at time (selected by a random number generator) for the beginning months, and as I get more comfortable I will increase when ready.

In the meantime I will be taking a small break from painting my art pieces and just stick to sketching and lineart (colored in grayscale). This will give me an opportunity to catch up with my backlog of personal sketch ideas and unfinished lineart so I can further prepare myself to ultimately open for commissions, while working on painting on the side.

For now I will be posting my lineart in my gallery and on my Twitter (@Tal_Rex) along with any rough sketches in my scraps, so keep an eye out! I am eager to finally make my next biggest step with my art and take on commissions for all those waiting patiently for me to open. First I want to thank all of my watchers, new and old, for continuing to support me and my art, even if I haven't be active lately. But I something off my chest. As of late I decided to go with a new direction and approach with my art, which is part of why I've been inactive.

I'm going to do things differently and go back to my roots and to the basics. This may cause a longer delay in postings but this is something I need to do, I really wasn't happy with the way I've been doing art and I felt like I've been wasting time trying to learn as I go without spending the time to actually practice and study more than I should have. I also felt too much pressure that I had to post more often which all the stress did was cause me to freeze up and end up not accomplishing anything or taking longer than necessary.

Don't worry, I'm not quitting art, I never will but I need to start improving the way I've been doing it and that starts with more practice and studying. I'm scared that my followers may grow impatient but I have to do this, and who knows, maybe I'll end up posting more often.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I just want to let everyone know what I've been up to and where I am with my art.

This year brought a lot of good change into my life and I look forward to the next year, with lots of new art projects in the works that are calling me to finish. Hello all! It's been a while but I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. I'm glad to have finally finished another piece and now in the process of working on more. I have a lot of other projects in the works but sometimes it is hard for me to settle down on just one at a time which I'm working on that. Looking forward to posting more new material here soon. I want to apologize for not being active on here for the past few months. I felt like I needed to take a break for a bit to catch up with other things and people in my life, and got back into gaming again as well. I also been feeling frustrated with the way I've been making art and needed time to reflect on it and think of new ways to approach it and ways I can improve my craft.

I have lost some confidence in my skills but I think I'm about to get back in the swing of things here really soon. Perhaps starting light and not tackle some of my more ambitious ideas and warm up first with some sketches perhaps. I plan to start again next week and see where it takes me. I do have some new OCs I want to make art of along with some of my old favorites.

Hey everyone, I know that there are some of you out there who are waiting patiently for me to open up slots for commissions and I have good news for you. Lately I've been taking some commissions from some close friends of mine as a means of a trial run to get me started and get used to this process. I've also been doing some art studies and practice on the side as well to help get me up to speed with this big step I'm about to take. I will be posting my next journal entry with open slots along with uploading a price sheet and terms of service once I have them finalized.

I do need to get something off my chest however and that is I am quite the perfectionist when it comes to making my art which has hindered growth and halts my production time. I am working on fixing this to keep me from holding myself back and to reach my real potential. I apologize to my audience for these big gaps between projects, I tend to be too much of perfectionist when it goes to details and form, but now I am learning to not over do it and focus on the details that matter with the advice from some fellow artists. I want to provide the best quality that I can and I've been taking it too far and thus slowed me down, along with things in real life that I cannot control, but now I am heading in a new direction.

Thank you for being patient with me as I want to take this big step in my art direction and expand upon it. I look forward to continuing my art journey with you all.

Well I'm all settled in my new home and getting ready to get back to work on art. I might open for commissions sooner than planned as long as I keep up the pace and get some new pieces done first. Hello everyone. I think it's about time I give everyone an update on myself a bit and my current art plans. I've been keeping myself occupied a lot with house hunting and working full time the past few months which has delayed a lot of my art projects as of late. So I apologize to my friends and loved ones about my lack of communication but this phase is soon coming to an end.

Right now I have a whole directory of art projects lined up that I have started on and want to finish them all. This is where the status of my commission availability is getting close to being open. I still have to figure out my art prices as well as make example sheets. So my plan right now is to finish my next 5 art projects before I become available to take on commissions. These 5 projects are introduction pieces of my 5 new characters that I've been developing for a while now and going to feature them in many more art projects in the future. Once those 5 are done I'll be ready to take on commissions and planning on opening 2 or 3 slots at a time to keep myself from biting more than I can chew.

Well as my friends and followers can tell, I'm finally back on FA and continuing my art from where I can left it. I decided to finish the 2 recent art pieces since they were left collecting dust from my hiatus.

Honestly I got a whole folder of all sorts of art projects that are waiting to be finished. So now my goal is to have a frequent flow of art coming.
But I think I owe all of you an explanation as to why I've been on another year long hiatus. Well what happened was of course real life being in the way, particularly college and full time work.

But there's good news now at least, which is I'm not attending college this year so that means much more free time to make art again.

I want to once again thank all of my friends and watchers for all of your patience and support to help keep this rex motivated and pushing forward to get more art done. You are all awesome. (^.=.^)

As I found out just recently I have the green light to get my tail to Midwest Fur Fest this week, had a lot of fun the last few times I went and looking forward to another good time!
