To nobody’s surprise Tumblr today announced that they lied about the “bots deleting nsfw accounts glitch” and that starting Dec. 17th NSFW content is no longer allowed. My account has been deleted before, and I’m not going to miss Tumblr, but I am disappointed that I have to say goodbye to a community that was probably my fastest growing site despite the short amount of time I was on there for.

I’ll be uploading content on Tumblr per usual until Dec. 16th, at which point I will be deleting all NSFW pics. I still haven’t decided what I’ll do there; maybe do something more like an Ask blog for Nera and her friends, but that’ll come later.

Mentioned this on Twitter a few days ago, but my Tumblr accounts been terminated. I’ve heard horror stories about how ass tumblr is for nsfw artists, but I was hoping it’d last longer than that. Guess I’ll update you guys when I make a new one. Remember, Twitter @ ToHDraws is the best way to keep up with my work, I upload and update a lot more there than here.

I've decided to not take anymore new commissions until further notice. If you're already on the list I will still be taking yours when it's your turn, but please note it could take a bit longer, I'm working on these slowly around my other projects. Thank you for your patience.

A big reason why I'm cutting off new comms is because I've realized I can't make a livable income off commissions alone. Thus I've made the decision to focus most of my efforts on comics and animations for Patreon in the hopes I can get it supported to the point of actually living off that income. I'm basically living off the remaining funds in my bank account right now, so the goal is to get my Patreon expanded by the end of the year. If I can't do it by then, I'll have to figure out some other plan for life.

Currently on Patreon I upload a comic page every 2 weeks, 1-2 animations a month, WIP's of everything, and take a picture request from patrons every week. Today Patreon had an issue where a large number of pledges are automatically being declined. This is because Patreon moved their servers to the UK...without telling anyone, and thus the overseas charges are being considered "fraudulent" charges by a lot of peoples banks. This is a serious issue that has caused many content creators to lose 30-50% of their patrons.

If you use Patreon, please check your account to see if your payment to your creators has gone through. If not, you may be able to call your bank to get the fraudulent charge removed, but I'm hoping it won't have to come to that; this is something Patreon themselves needs to fix. Hopefully it'll get resolved, but in the meantime please check your accounts and make sure you're still signed up to the creators you support!

I finally finished my video review of Sonic Forces. While it's not a terrible game, it still has a lot of problems including poor level design, some wonky physics, off character role choices, and a practically nonexistent story. So here it is if you'd like to hear my thoughts on the game.

Off and on over the last few months I've been working on a video analyzing the gameplay and trailers for Sonic Forces. About commissions. I know I don't open them very often and I'm sorry I keep putting that off. A lot has been going on, and I'm getting to the point where I'm considering quitting my job to take up working on art full-time. So the good news is that would require me to open commissions for you all on a constant basis. However, it scares the crap out of me knowing that that's an income that will fluctuate every month based on how many I get.

So here's the current gameplan: I'm currently finishing up a few big projects, and once that's done I'll be taking less hours at my job and start opening comms more regularly. If it seems that I can keep a steady commission list, then I may be able to go through with this full-time plan, but I'll have to ease my way into it to be safe. So come November keep an eye out and we'll see how it goes.

As we come into the final stretch for Sonic Mania's release the hype continues to build. I haven't been this excited for a game in a long time, and that intro animation really made me feel like a kid again. (freaking love Tyson Hesse's work)

So this Monday before the games launch I'll be doing an art stream. Specifically I'll be working on my Sonic Mania poster, hoping to have it fully colored by the end of the night. I just hit the 5k milestone on InkBunny! Thank you for all the support these last few years everyone! I've got a lot planned for the future, both for my adult and clean artwork, so plenty to look forward to.

I am making something for the occasion, but it won't be done for a little while still. For those of you on my Patreon though, you can see a little preview of it on there now. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while, and I hope you'll all find it enlightening for your minds as well as your loins.

Archie has finally announced the cancellation of their Sonic Comic series. While this should surprise noone at this point, considering the cancellations, push-backs, and silence since last year; it's still sad to see it go. Whether you liked it or not, there's no denying it's accomplishments, especially with it being the longest running videogame comic by far.

To be honest, I probably wouldn't be here without it. I was 6 years old when I bought my first comic, Sonic Issue #15. In fact this comic helped me get into Sonic; I had just started playing Sonic 2 not long before. I got hooked on the series and I'd spend most of my time at home drawing my own sonic comics and copying some of the work from other issues. This series and all the artists involved help inspire me to draw, and I'm very grateful to them for that.

SEGA did say this wouldn't be the end of sonic comics, just their ties with Archie. What that means as far as the characters, however, is yet to be seen. Hopefully this won't be the last we'll see of the freedom fighters.

Aside from my Patreon work, things have been a bit light content-wise lately. It's been a hectic few months; tomorrow I'm moving and there's been a lot to take care of.

I'm also making it a point to work on more clean-content and personal projects. That stuff is mostly going to my twitter account.
Commissions. Once I get settled into my new place I'm planning on picking up the pace for taking more commissions. I'm thinking of trying a waiting list this time; like taking 10 or so people and contacting them when I'm ready. Would you guys be more interested in that?

New trailer for Sonic Mania. I swear, SEGA just took everything off my checklist and threw it altogether in this game.
-Solid, fluid gameplay

Sorry guys, I won't be streaming tonight. The last few weeks I've been having problems with OBS, in that it randomly drops my connection repeatedly through the night. I'm not sure what's causing in or had time to test anything this week, but if anyone has ever had issues like this or any ideas how to fix it please let me know. Obvious dumb joke aside, I was expecting more from all the hype Sega was building up for this panel at SXSW. They've been saying for months they were gonna have some big reveals for both games, and we get 40 seconds showing Flying Battery zone and 40 seconds of the most barebones gameplay for Sonic Forces.

Now, I am excited to play Flying Battery again, and Sonic Forces certainly LOOKS gorgeous, but I was really expecting more; like what this 3rd character is or what this new gameplay mechanic is. To only give us 40 seconds of "boost-to-win" gameplay is quite the cocktease. I'm still excited for Sonic Mania, and hopefully Sonic Forces will play as good as it looks, but I don't wanna get my hopes up at this point. They've got plenty of time to work on it though, so fingers crossed.

So what did you guys think of what Sega had to show?

Hey all, no stream tonight, getting ready for Christmas n whatnot. I did wanna let you know though that I am working on a holiday themed picture, it's gonna be my biggest pic ever! It's my monthly pic for Patreon so it'll go on there first, and then you guys will see it the week after. So expect to see it here early January, just a wee bit after the holidays.

My friends know this, but some of you may not. I am a big Assassin's Creed fan. Hell, I might even say I'm one of the biggest fans in the US (Fight me on it, I have a track record! XD) Even though I'm a big fan, however, I am smart enough to be able to see the flaws in Ubisofts creations. So, what to say about the Assassin's Creed Movie...

Overall, it's not horrible, but it's not very good. As far as Assassin's Creed goes, it really does nail the feel of the games. The fight and chase scenes are the strong points, they did a great job mimicking the combat style and acrobatics of the games. There are even a few moments where I said "Awww that's really cool!" The settings, costumes and effects all look great, save for a few green-screened parkour moments.

Unfortunately though, that's about all I can say about the really good things in this.

The biggest failure of this movie is the writing. You can say there are some great ideas all throughout this movie, but most of them just aren't executed well. The characters are bland and have no backstory, you won't care about anyone in this movie. Motives are wishy-washy at best and there are plenty of questionable moments because of it. Cinematography is lacking as there are tons of panning shots that last way too long and awkward/quick camera changes.

The overall story is completely forgettable. In the Animus there are very few, if any, historical moments or people involved, which is a huge shame considering those interactions are part of what made Assassin's Creed games so great. It's just a barebones adventure with no real care or cause to it.

Even the fight scenes, which I applauded earlier, have some problems. Throughout fights it CONSTANTLY switches between the action in Spain and showing Callum doing the actions on the Animus arm-thing. I would've been fine with it if they did it a little at the beginning, but they do it throughout the entire film, switching back and forth. It really takes you out of the action. "We get it already, he's doing them in real life, you don't need to keep showing it!" Not to mention there are too many camera changes in fights, sometimes making it difficult to see what's going on.

The bleeding effect is also in this movie, but once again it's way overused, and from very early on at that. I would've much preferred if they hinted at it throughout the film and it comes full effect near the end.

The Assassin's Creed movie may not be a complete disaster like most videogame adaptations are, but it certainly won't bring any newcomers to the series; and chances are if you are a fan already, by the end you'll just say "meh".

Score=5.5/10
