August - IndyFurCon & Eurofurence!
Posted 8 years agoIt's been a quiet month in July for a dragon, with the exception of visiting my dear wine-thief
kagemushi for another round of our wine-sodden livestreams. In case you weren't there to witness the drunken stupor (and the hangover that ensued), you can find them on the links below:
Uncle Kage's Winestream
The Morning Grumpystream
As for the coming month of August, I shall be busy yet again with travels to two conventions - one familiar, and one new. I shall be at IndyFurcon as usual this year, though I may not be out and about as often since I am saving my old bones and strength for a new adventure: Eurofurence!
I do hope to see many a familiar (or new) face at both conventions. If you see me at either convention, you know the rules: approach with dignity. Or with wine. Preferably the latter!
(I jest, of course. I don't bite.....much.)

Grumpystream - THIS FRIDAY! (November 18th, 2016)
Posted 9 years ago"The Dreamcatcher" by Fox Amoore - Crowdfund!
Posted 9 years agoI don't usually advertise on behalf of others. But Fox Amoore, who has been nothing but a generous, kind, and gifted soul to an old celestial dragon, is not just any other. He is a maestro that elevates music past the barriers of sound and reality, bringing joy and inspiration that reaches through generations. And he's doing it once again with The Dreamcatcher. He's set up a crowdfund to help him on the journey, and for whatever an old dragon's opinion is worth, you should highly consider supporting him.

IndyFurCon 2016
Posted 9 years agoRather than a pre-con write-up, I've gone ahead and had a senile moment and didn't do it. Just as how I didn't do a post-Anthrocon write-up, either. Bah, I'm old!
Alas, IndyFurCon has come and gone again for another year. With much of the time spent trying to keep a certain wine appreciator's stash protected (in my liver), I did not get to run out and about as much as I'd hoped. But with my brief appearance on Saturday afternoon in the Parade as well as a few panels, I've done a bit more performing on-stage that I usually do.
And what do you know? Youngsters enjoy it. They actually seem to laugh and smile at a dragon's ramblings and antics on-stage. What's with you lot and enjoying watching old drunks fall over!? You have poor taste in old dragons!
But, it does somewhat encourage me to attempt more on-stage comedy and performances other than martial arts. Maybe I've got a knack for it. Maybe I'll just continue drinking sake and pretending I'm entertaining. I'll let the crowd decide!
Oh, and if you'd like to see what I look like when I get to finally share my sake and the stage with the wine roach, this is what it would look like.
To all that I'd seen there, especially those of you that gave me bottles of tribute, I thank you kindly for being (and helping) part of my time at IndyFurCon. It's nice to be among more respectful youngsters who don't run around your lawn playing Pokemon Go. Mostly.
Where shall I be next? I am not quite sure, to be honest - I've got to confirm a few plans, but perhaps I shall also be making some surprise visits as well. Only time will tell....and the nearest sake bar!

Anthrocon 2016
Posted 9 years agoWho shall be there? My big brother
and I shall be re-arranging the city once more....well, we'll keep the convention center intact at least.
I shall be doing some performances once again this year - namely in the Masquerade, an appearance at the Macrofur meet, the Fursuit Parade, and whatever else people would want to see of a drunkard. Maybe I'll even drag my brother out from the bar and onto the stage with me...
Whom shall we see there? Please, do say hello to us old 'uns (it's all we get these days) and don't be afraid to take our photos!

A New Year's Update
Posted 9 years ago*blinks awake* Huh? We're already in another year? Time seems to fly by in front of an old celestial's eyes.
I seem to have not updated my page for a while - there are many things that I should be catching up on, such as a post-Midwest Furfest report was well as a trip I undertook recently to visit my brother in Singapore.
Midwest Furfest
Another year has gone by in the frigid wasteland that is Chicago - alright, perhaps not that tragic. But the lovely Hyatt hotel was host once more to a celestial dragon and thousands of other critters, and I had a pleasant time wandering about at a leisurely pace and seeing what nonsense there was this year. I had been scheduled for many performances this year, but due to many last-minute cancellations due to my failing physique, I took more time to wind down instead. I will say that though I have enjoyed previous Midwest Furfests, I am beginning to feel that its magic is being lost on me. I may look towards a newer experience this year, but we shall see!
A Reunion In The East
For those of you that follow my other social media pages (Twitter/Facebook), you would have known that I have been in Asia these past two weeks. Aside from sightseeing and sampling on Asian cities, I made the trip to Singapore to visit my one and only big brother
Qing-long. We had a wonderful time together running around the city and trampling everything in sight, snacking on every food stall and restaurant imaginable (with many left to spare), and generally spending some quality brother time together. Something that old celestials don't get enough of. I must say, Singapore was such a fantastic experience that I am keen on returning again this new year. Of course, having my big brother there as well makes it all the more tempting!
Grumpystream
Many have asked when the next Grumpystream will take place, seeing as how I had been absent all December long, and many are itching to hear a celestial yell at them. You youngsters are so strange. However, I shall hope to have my next Grumpystream later this month, perhaps on the last two weekends while I try and recover from all this New Year's wine...
(P.S. Patrons - I have not yet sent out last stream's drawings with how busy I have been, but shall do so soon.)
Future Conventions
My next convention shall be Furnal Equinox in March, happening in Toronto. It is what I would consider a "home" convention, meaning that I barely have to take two steps and I am already there. Hopefully the hotel has been rebuilt from the shape I left it in last year...many of my other conventions this year include Motor City Fur Con, Confuzzled, Anthrocon, and more. See my page description for a full list.
There shall be more from an old celestial dragon, but for now....zzzzzzzzzzz.......

Posted 10 years agoMidwest Furfest 2015
Posted 10 years agoWhy are all these children trying to drag me by the noodles to Midwest Furfest 2015? It is already cold enough in the North, nevermind Chicago!
I guess I shall wander around once more at the convention. Pah. It would help if I had a drink or two...or a bottle or two...
Do greet an old celestial should you happen to see me. At least I will have good company to help pass the time. Oh, and if you happen to be watching any of the Stage shows at Midwest Furfest, you might find me crashing one or two...
...December awaits.

Halloween Plans, Patreon Update, & Next Grumpystream Date.
Posted 10 years agoI have no Halloween Plans. At least not anymore - for those that watched my last Grumpystream and heard me proposing of a Halloween idea, the interested seemed to die out almost immediately after the stream. Perhaps in the future, I will have to plan out my special 'events' with a little more thought.
My Patreon is in dire need of an update as I have re-thought a few of the "levels" for Patrons, as well as the pitch of my page. I do hope that with a rejuvenation of the page, it won't look so frightening to my supporters, and perhaps I shall be able to service fans of my stream a little better. Keep an eye out for the updates - if you would like to visit my page, and perhaps become a Patron, click here.
In other news, the next month is quiet for an old dragon until Midwest Furfest. That is good - it means I have time to do another Grumpystream! As of now it is tentatively set to November 21st at 7 PM Eastern Time. There will be more information coming soon.

Cops, Criminals, Bronies, and an old Drunkard.
Posted 10 years agoThat sums up the last few weeks for an old dragon.
I had traveled down to the South for the first time, and what intolerable heat! I miss the days when I had the powers to change the climate to suit my whims, but now I was forced to tolerate that stinking humidity. Why did I choose to descend to Earth again and forfeit my powers? Hrm...
At least the folk there were good, and many a familiar face was seen. Sadly I had no offerings given to me all weekend long - something that leaves a sour note in my maw. Now it would take me a bit more convincing to come back. Just a little more...
Less than a week's time later, I had been dragged against my will to BronyCon, an environment I was completely lost in. Nevertheless, I spent my limited time there pacing around the convention space, scaring children and adults alike, and even attended a Costume Ball briefly where all those pish-posh humans were floored by my regality. Serves them right.
However, both times I had been stuck up by that old drunkard that I relentlessly pursue. He outran my clutches twice, first in Florida and then in Baltimore...it seems he gets faster with age, whereas I grow considerably slower. I shall have another chance at IndyFurCon in two days' time...
I shall be making my return to Indiana tomorrow. Whom shall I see there...and more important, whom shall I receive gifts from there?

The Vikings of Anthrocon
Posted 10 years agoApparently, they brought along sickness in order to combat the dragons this time, rather than axes and ballistas.
It seemed to have worked, seeing as how my big brother
and I were down and out with sickness for most of the convention. We had hoped to make a bigger impact for our second reunion, but we were heavily stricken with diseases beyond celestial power.
Our powers are truly weakening on this Earth, but thankfully our bonds with each other are not. I spent virtually all my time with my big brother, as a little brother rightfully would do so. Besides, he can't get enough of his little brother (though he won't admit it!)
Due to illness I was also forced to opt out of the Masquerade, where many had hoped to see me perform. I was forced to send my human slave to spectate the Masquerade, and he only gave me a grim look when I had asked him about it. It seems that next year, I shall have to make a return...
Through the sickness I battled, I was at least able to spend some quality time with my fellow brethren, including
and
as their Eastern counterparts. Unfortunately we were not able to congregate all at once for a proper celestial reunion, but the opportunity shall arise once more soon.
The end to this convention was a bit of a bittersweet one for myself...for I had to leave my brother once more. His body and spirit returned to his home in the East, and I once again have extra legroom in my den in the North. It has grown far too quiet for my liking, however, and that silence is constantly filled with my hopes that we shall reunite soon, once again...my brother
, I have not given up hope on us yet. I shall be with you soon.
But for now, I must brace myself for a very busy month ahead. I am being dragged (as always) to the Floridian heat of Megaplex next weekend, and then to some sort of pony convention in Baltimore the week after, followed by my return to IndyFurCon the week after, and rounded off by a mysterious trip I have yet to find out about. An old dragon's back is not ready for this, and neither is his mind...I shall need all the physical and mental fortitude I can muster for the tough times ahead.
Wine would also help. Greatly. In copious amounts.

Anthrocon on the Horizon...
Posted 10 years agoOnce again, I shall be attending Anthrocon this year from July 9-12, and this time I shall be accompanied by my elder brother
. This year I promise to try and contain the storms in the skies, but sometimes I can't help it when I've got no alcohol left.
Where can you find the brothers? We shall be simply wandering around the convention as old dragons do, simply enjoying the atmosphere and each other's company, while trying to fend off rascals from tugging our very dignified whiskers. But should we spot a certain roach scuttling about, expect a lot of strangling!
However, do greet us if you get the chance. We would certainly like to see our loyal, less-rascally followers.
You will also mind me performing once again in this year's Masquerade, and I will be breaking my back once again for your entertainment. Do come and watch if you can - the Masquerade takes place on Saturday, July 11th at 9 PM in the SoP ballroom. It will also be livestreamed anthrocon.tv, which you can access by clicking here.
I've got a busy summer schedule ahead - one that an elderly celestial is not ready for, but will somehow have to get through. I hope to see you all in Pittsburgh!

An Important Message.
Posted 10 years agoWhatever happens in the Grumpystream stays in the Grumpystream. In particular, the most recent one that just took place included some very inappropriate antics on my behalf. I won't specifically point to what but most know what I am referring to.
I have received numerous comments about my actions, and though that night I was helped along by my good friend Sake, I myself do not particularly relish those memories. Though it was all done in good humour and fun was had by the audience, as a celestial dragon who is very, VERY keen on maintain a more "appropriate" character and personality, such things will not be happening again. I do not condone such behaviour for myself, nor wish to present a bad image of myself to my audience. I will first and foremost always be Tien Long, the God of the Skies, and the grumpiest celestial dragon you'll ever bother to listen to. But always one that tries to be as graceful and appropriate as I can be.
For those of you that may have been offended, I apologize. For those of you that are spreading media of the events that happened, I would kindly ask that you not share it further than it already has been. The "internet" has seen enough of it.
With that being said, I do aim to continue and entertain all you youngsters that somehow like listening to an old dragon's ramblings, reading you lovely bedtime stories, and general old-grumpy-dragon behaviour. You have many more performances by myself and my brother
to look forward to, and we always welcome your suggestions on how to improve.
Stay grumpy!
