Important Announcement to Make
Posted 3 years agoThis announcement has been a long time coming.......
On December 30th, 2022.... I will be retiring my old laptop.... a Dell Latitude E6430...... It's served me for an up and down eight years (2015-2022).... Now.... It's time I got rid of it as I've had a growing amount of issues with several of its functions.... and I will NOT undertake an expensive refurbishment for it....

The Big C
Posted 3 years agoUnfortunately, as of couple of days ago when I was almost due to go on a vacation trip…. I have become stricken with The Big C. I feel A little better today luckily. Still feel like shit but I can at least get from the bed to the computer desk. I just can't get out of my room unless I have to use the restroom.
Luckily I had my shots so it's not as brutal as some other cases.
This is a really serious infection and wouldn't wish anyone to catch it. Not even my bitter rivals or worst enemies

Big Northern in a Little Spotlight (Part 4)
Posted 3 years agoWell, this'll probably be my last journal covering this topic for now: Reading and Northern T1 #2102
The fine folks of Reading and Northern fitted her with a new whistle (a Reading 6-Chime) for her excursion service. With Pacific type #425 due for her boiler inspection, Northern 2102 will probably be the star of the Reading and Northern for a while. She ran her first excursion run today and it marks the return of the Iron Horse Rambles.
Video of her run can be found here (not mine): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1IX0xD9Vs
If you plan to head to the Pennsylvania mountains, be sure to check out the Reading and Northern for their excursion schedule. When you do.... DON'T you DARE miss it. Seeing this big Northern will be an experience you'll never forget.
I hope you all enjoyed this short series of journals marking this big Northern's return to the rails. I hope to one day maybe put another big Northern in a little spotlight in the future.

Big Northern in a Little Spotlight (Part 3)
Posted 3 years agoEverything seems to be going well for Reading & Northern (former Reading) T1 #2102. Reading and Northern brought the big giant out for ONE MORE test run on May 20th, 2022 (My 25th Birthday.)
Video (not mine) of the test can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy5N5aL6DzU
After handling the test pretty well. She seems to be ready for Reading and Northern's Iron Horse Rambles excursions starting May 28th. If you can go, don't you dare miss it.... It'll be a ride you will never forget.

Big Northern in a Little Spotlight (Follow up)
Posted 3 years agoThis following journal is a follow up to THIS: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10187075/
After powering a freight train for a break-in run and handling it very well, it seems like Reading #2102 is ready for excursion service on the Reading & Northern.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yw5pa_j2W-g (Not my video. just something to show)
If you are a lover for big steam engines then I encourage you to check out the Reading & Northern in the Pennsylvania Mountains. The Reading & Northern does several steam excursions with #425 (a 4-6-2 Pacific), and now with Reading 2102 starting late this May, from the spring to the fall. Seeing this big Northern for yourself is a sight in of itself to behold.

Big Northern in a Little Spotlight
Posted 3 years agoIf you have followed me for long enough, you would know in particular that I love 4-8-4 Northern type steam locomotives.
Everyone knows the stories of Union Pacific #844, Southern Pacific #4449 (which recently ran the Holiday Express excursion in Oaks Park), and ATSF 3751....
Well.... I'm excited to say that another Northern has taken off into the spotlight. One in the Northeast.
Just two days ago.... The Reading, Blue Mountain, & Northern Railroad restored and refurbished old Reading #2102 to operational conditions.
They just recently ran a test on the massive steam giant and in my opinion she looks to have a BRIGHT future.
You can find videos of Reading 2102 in action in some of these YouTube videos I'm going to link to you down below.

It's not very often that a big Northern like this has a mainline to run on as the Reading & Northern has been a success story for several years.

RIP Rich Hooser
Posted 3 years agohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S53vcKuVSJc
2022 has not been a great year for the Monster Truck community.... It's my unfortunate and sad duty to announce.... that Rich Hooser, former driver of Bigfoot..... has passed away....
Cause of death has yet to be disclosed..... I'll give an update as soon as I have more details....
Rich Hooser was one of the hard chargers on the TNT monster truck circuit back in mid-late 1980s. He won races on TNT and several other leagues as well as nearly winning the 1st ever monster truck racing championship. After retiring from driving, he became a commentator on TNN's Trucks and Tractor Power in 1989 and the early part of 1990. He then stepped away from broadcasting after 1990.
He was most noted for driving Bigfoot 4 in 1987 and 1988.
My thoughts and well wishes go to Team Bigfoot and their families.... and especially to the Hooser family.....

RIP John Moore and Wayne Smozanek
Posted 3 years agoI regret to inform you all that Wayne Smozanek, former driver of the Tropical Thunder monster truck and veteran drag racer, has passed away earlier today. He was 60 years old.
It's just been a tough week for the monster truck community. We lost two all-time great drivers in less than a week's span.
We lost John Moore, of No Problem fame, the Giant Killer, earlier this week.
The racing world is just... having it hard this month.......

2021 Wrap-Up
Posted 3 years agoWell.... While 2020 sucked a big one...... 2021 was a slightly better year for me personally.... in more ways than one....
While I still haven't gotten a job yet, I FINALLY got my driver's license and was able to go out and do SOME railfanning again.
I also got myself back into the swing of things on my YouTube channel and hope I can continue that into 2022....
While it was, for me, a significant improvement over 2020..... I honestly don't know what 2022 will bring.....
Take this advice...... 2022 will ONLY be a better year if you make it that way.
This is coming from a person who takes things by a day-by-day month-by-month basis.

Invincible Characters (Vent Journal)
Posted 4 years agoNOTHING angers me more online than seeing someone create the “perfect villain”. What is the point of having fun with a villain if he is virtually unstoppable? Same thing can be applied to heroes too.
While it maybe true that my sona’s Angel of Darkness form has godlike power, even the form itself has its own limitations. If my sona goes beyond that limit, he gets so ridiculously sick or ill, it’s hard to believe he’s still alive.
Making an invincible character is probably the most dangerous thing you can do. It is a real turn-off for most roleplayers. Myself included.

Sonic Remarks
Posted 4 years agoI'm not too keen on Sonic Colors than most other Sonic games.
Most things Sonic related from me are going towards my AU at this point
(As that's been a passion project of mine ever since
RoninHunt0987 and I started our Discord and skype accounts)
At this point, I very much rather focus on my Sonic AU than be a raging maniac over what is to me a subpar product (I'm looking at the IDW Comics when I say that).
I will probably stick to the Sonic games I have bought on steam so far. I probably won't play Forces (and I can't even refund the game at this point since I've had it for over a year.) I've even looked at a gameplay video. It's nothing too new or interesting to me in my honest opinion.
So with that said. I'm going to focus on mostly my Sonic AU (as I said, it's been a passion project) rather than going through the emotional pain of what is in my opinion just another line of subpar products. I'll also get my Adventures with Sonic plush series on my YouTube channel going again in the future (because I like the comedy and the drama my cousin and I put into it).
I only hope you all understand my position on this. I made a lot of angry rants on Skype and discord about how terrible the IDW Zombot arc was in my opinion (and that even caused rifts in many of my friendships with people in the servers and groups there) and I do not want to go through the pain of that again.

Daytona 500
Posted 4 years agoI... am in shock.
Michael McDowell.... driving for Front Row Motorsports... a Mid-tier team...... a VERY underdog driver..... WON the Daytona 500.......
The FIRST win of his ENTIRE 13 year long career in his 358th NASCAR Cup Series start.
What happened was Brad Keselowski in the 2 car... had a run on Joey Logano in the 22, his teammate, coming into Turns 3 and 4.... Logano tried to block, which caused a huge crash in those two corners... McDowell drove through the carnage unscathed.
And ended up being the leader when the caution came out freezing the field and ending the race (which is a NASCAR rule. If the caution comes out on the last lap. The race is over).
He just happened to be lucky tonight.
A VERY unlikely winner tonight.
I....
I don't know what to say.
I genuinely don't know what to say.
No one expected this
What happened tonight just DEFIED logic. That's all I can say at this present moment.

Vent Journal
Posted 4 years agoI honestly don't know how else to title this. There's something my following on here needs to know because I cannot keep this under the rug any longer.
2021, for me, is obviously not off to a good start.... Not even two weeks in and I'm already marred by more severe allergies and emotional problems.
As well as an ever more deteriorating relationship with my father.
Worst part right now is that there is not anything that I can do about the allergies. I fear they're only going to get worse over time.
I have taken EVERY over the counter and prescription medicine I and my family can find to combat the problem and those have done very little.
It's a problem I have been fighting ever since childhood.
Not being able to have a clear head and having to sneeze so much so hard that it knocks my breath out is what hurts me the most right now
It brings a lot of agonizing pain to my chest.
I suffer from chronic allergies.... a problem that is NOT going to go away....
It's unfortunately something I will have to deal with for the rest of my life....
I am a very unhappy and miserable man and will probably stay that way for a very long time.

What a disrespect, NASCAR!
Posted 5 years agoWow! I'm pissed off!
Earlier today, currently active NASCAR drivers were surveyed who were the greatest of all time were. They put KRYBABY BITCH (Kyle Busch) over JEFF GORDON. Jeff Gordon, who yes was a polarizing driver early in his career, is and FOREVER WILL BE more legendary than Kyle Busch EVER will be.
Jeff Gordon: 93 Race Victories, 325 Top 5s, 477 Top 10s, 81 Poles, & FOUR Championships in 805 NASCAR Cup Series starts
Kyle Busch: 56 Race Victories, 208 Top 5s, 306 Top 10s, 32 Poles, & ONLY TWO Championships (One which was PURPOSELY HANDED to him by NASCAR after MISSING NEARLY HALF THE ENTIRE SEASON) in ONLY 553 starts!
Had the "Playoffs" NOT been implemented, Jeff Gordon, statistically, would have won the championship SEVEN times. Which would have tied HIM to the likes of Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.
Not to mention Kyle Busch is NOT liked by NASCAR fans, MYSELF INCLUDED!
This makes Jeff Gordon the most disrespected legend in ALL of NASCAR history!
What a bunch of BS modern day NASCAR is! UGH!!! ><

RIP Maurice Petty
Posted 5 years agohttps://nascar.nbcsports.com/2020/0.....ty-dies-at-81/
Normally at a time such as this, I would be in bed and had fallen asleep, but this morning.... It comes with great sorrow and great regret to have to say that Maurice Petty, brother of NASCAR legend Richard Petty, has passed away at the age of 81....
Maurice Petty was a NASCAR driver (driving in 26 races 1960-1964) but was more notable for being a crew chief and engine builder. He was even his brother's crew chief when he drove the iconic #43 to victory in 1983 at a race in Rockingham. And in 2014, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Maurice Petty is survived by his brother Richard, his son Ritchie, and his nephew Kyle Petty.
My sincere condolences go to ALL of the great Petty racing family.......

Get Well Soon Ryan Newman
Posted 5 years agoTitle I think is self-explanatory. This will be the last journal I will have on Ryan Newman and his crash at Daytona. This, and the previous three journals, have been undoubtedly some of the most difficult I've personally had to make....
My thoughts, hopes, and prayers will continue to go to NASCAR driver Ryan Newman and I honestly hope I see him back behind the wheel of a racecar soon.
Get well soon, Ryan Newman.
