What's with folks with Hummers!!!
Posted 15 years agoSo I'm watching some national news this morning and I see this story about a police detective pulling a gun on a bunch of young folks tossing snowballs around on a street in Washington D.C. Some of the snowballs struck his Hummer and he proceeds to get out of said Hummer and wave his piece around. From what I heard he didn't even bother to identify himself as a freakin cop. All that's another matter though. I'm just amazed over how postal some folks get over their Hummers. This isn't the first time I've heard a story like this. Seems like about a year ago there was an incident in some parking lot in the Atlanta area where this guy when nuts and scratched up this dude's car just cuz he dared to park next to his precious Hummer. I don't get it. I guess I'd have to own one to understand. That ain't happening anytime soon I can gurantee ya that.
Well...miracles do happen.
Posted 16 years agoWhat a pleasant surprise we had last night. How Bout Them DAWGS!!!!! Even I, a die-hard UGA fan, did not five em much of a chance to beat Tech last night. I just wish I knew where the heck that running game for Georgia was earlier in the season. Well since something so seemingly improbable was able to happen, I can do something seemingly improbable for me and my FA site here. Stay tuned for a big surprise. Later everyone.
Happy Memorial Day
Posted 16 years agoI hope everyone is having a good memorial day weekend. I hope it's at least drier than mine has been thus far. Will try not to let it put too much of a damper on my plans. I spent all of last week on the gulf coast of Florida and just returned Saturday afternoon. Have some great photos to share but I won't dump em here. I've recently opened a facebook account and I'll be sharing the bulk of my photos there. Feel free to add me as a friend if ya like. I'll PM you the relevant info if you wanna add me. Just drop me a message. Take care everyone.
Right to an opinion.
Posted 16 years agoYou know...I realize that there are a lot of folks here who don't agree with what Miss California said about her view on what marriage is. That's all well and good, I'm not complaining about that. Everyone has a right to their own opinion...including her. I applaud her for answering the question posed to her about marriage so bluntly. She could've taken the easy and more popular politically correct approach. Hell odds are she'd probably be Miss America right now if she did. But instead of being praised for sticking to her faith and her opinion of marriage, she's being crucified by the media and the pagent directors for what she said. Have we gotten so messed up in this country that one can't even express an honest opinion without fear of reprisal. I for one praise her for what she did and whether or not you agree with her definition of marriage, you should still agree that it was great that she didn't go the easy route and instead stuck to her guns and said what she beleived. If you agree with me on that then great...I'm glad to hear it. IF not...well that's fine too. Afterall you are entitled to your own opinion afterall . Take care y'all.
Make the most of this time.
Posted 16 years agoWell...my two Loonatics Unleashed fanfics have a lot more meaning for me right now. When I wrote it and decided that my main character Cobalt would get cancer from the meteor's radiation instead of any special powers, I felt blessed that, eventhough I've had a handful of aunts and uncles die of cancer recently, I didn't have to deal with it in my immediate family. Well that all changed earlier this month when my grandpa, a survivor of prostate cancer, was diagnosed with bladder cancer. With his age and past radiation damage from the treatments for the prostate cancer, there's not much that can be done. I'll just have to enjoy the time he has remaining on this earth. He's taking it well at least. His lived a full life. I just hope our Atlanta Braves can win the World Series this year. That be one helluva send off. Now, at the present this won't affect my everyday life as it stands right now. I'll be devoting more time helping them with their yardwork this year when I can. I will try to spend as much time with him as possible as well. I guess I'm lucky that I know his end is coming. That way I know to spend more time with him. There's a lot of folks who don't get that opportunity or, if they do, they don't take it. Well I'll take the opportunity. There won't be another chance at this. Take care everyone and remember to make the most of the time you have with your family and friends for you just never know when the end will come.
Octomom Mess.
Posted 16 years agoForgive me but...I need to rant some. You know, I so wish the media would quit giving this psysho woman the time of the day. That's what she wants. That's the only way she's making any money. I guess I'm being a bit hypocritical then since I'm venting frustation over her in a public forum but still...it's just. The latest news is that she fired some nurses that were offering her their service for free. She claimed they were spying on her and reporting her to child welfare agenies. Well...yeah...she needs to be. She is unemployed and unmarried and yet she's gonna raise 14 CHILDREN! Let's get real people...she want have any had in raising the children, the taxpayers will. I don't know who I'm more upset with...the crazy mother herself or the clinic and the doctor who did her in vitro fertilization. Yeah...yeah...I know...the bigot white southerner in me is rearing its ugly head but...this is just messed up on sooo many levels and I really fear for the well-being of these kids...not just now but in the future. I was blessed to have had two loving parents raise me. I wish that kind of stability for all children. I know that's not always the case and I don't have anything against single parents. Some of my closest friends are from single parent households and they are to some degree more stable than me at times. But being in a single parent household with one or two or even three other siblings is one thing. 14....14!!! Hell...that would put a burden on a typical two parent household with moderately decent income. Bottom line is...I think this woman is seriously fucked up in the head and needs to be examined. Also that doctor who performed the procedure knowing she had no steady source of income and 6 other children...should be fired and never allowed to practice medicine anywhere as he obviously lacks the common sense God gave an ass. Well...I feel a little better now getting that off my chest. Now back to the ole grind.
On a lighter note. I would like to inform all past visitors to my page that my feature submission has been edited and cleaned-up a bit. Found a couple of glaring errors that I wanted to fix. Lord knows there are most likely a lot more but...such is the usual hazard when typing a story.

Bleah
Posted 16 years agoYou ever have a couple of days that were so polar opposite it break your neck. Yesterday I was in a great mood. Everything seemed to be going so well. Then later that evening...I got the news that my maternal Grandfather has bladder cancer. The only way to treat this kind is with radiation and, since the radiation that killed his prostate cancer many years back also scared his bladder, that's not a viable option. The silver lining is that it's not spreading and it's a slow grower. There's a chance that it might just...go away on its own. There have been stories of such things happening. Still...cancer is cancer and it's hit me pretty hard. We could be looking at as little as three months or as long as one year or so. I don't put too much into those prognoses. I don't beleive in placing expiration dates on folks. That seems to me it would just cause some to go on and give up. He won't....he's a fighter. I'm not trying to garner a bunch of sympathy posts and such with this. It just helps me to write this down. However prayers and well-wishes are accepted and well-appreciated. I'm still very down right now but my mood should improve by the end of the working day. It won't help that there'll be rain moving in today. Take care everyone.
Mess of favorites.
Posted 16 years agoYeah...it seems as if my favorites list has really taken on life. I felt I needed some more visual art on my page so...hence all the favortie ads. Should be of no surprise to anyone that they're mostly coyote related hehehehehe. Take care.
Southern Snowstorm
Posted 16 years agoYou know...when they said we might get anywhere from 1 to 2 inches of snow on Sunday in my neck of the woods, my general response to the weatherman was "you most be drunk and/or stoned out of your freakin mind. You have to understand that that Saturday morning, we had tornadic thunderstorms. Then that cleared up and we got up to the mid-70's. Heck...I washed my car that afternoon. Flash forward just about 24 hours and we get what you see the two photos I just posted. It seems only in Georgia can you have such craziness. Oh well...you don't like the weather here...just wait a few hours. It's likely to change dramatically.
Reaching out.
Posted 16 years agoWell this is my first journal entry of my re-created account. What better first post than a call for FA contacts. I've recently created the AIM screen name UGAYote for the sole purpose of attempting to open up more to the FA community. Now the only thing is that in the past, these messaging services never served me too well as I hardly ever had the time to use them. Still having it is better than nothing and when I have some free time and am in a particularely chatty mood, I'd like to have the option. I would like to start by adding the favorite artist I've been watching thus far that use AIM. Of course I don't want to just freely add everyone I come across. If you'd be ok with me adding you to my buddy list or would like to ask to add me, then drop me a comment here or a PM if you want to be all discreet about it. There's really no need to be, I ain't asking for some kind of deep relationship here, I just would like to make some online FA buds is all. As for adding me, I don't mind if you add me without permission but I would appreciate it if you let me know first since I'm offering that courtesy to everyone else. Again I can't gaurantee that I'll be online a great deal to chat but if I am, I will. So please consider my offer, if not for me than for my poor inbox. Seriously this communicating solely by e-mail is becoming a strain, not so much for gmail but for me as I try to keep up. Hope everyone's 2009 is going smoothly. It's almost hard to beleive that February will soon be gone. Later y'all.
