Hey all! So sorry for the radio silence I’ve been like a machine trying to make new art for this huge opportunity I have coming up in May and have had to focus on beefing up my portfolio with more serious fantasy art. Also I got a new job! I now design products and toys for “Geekify” doing licensed character products! So keep an eye out on some cool new stuff .

I haven’t forgotten about the commissions I owe and generous fundraiser images you guys kept me afloat while I kept trying for jobs! I am working it into my rotations as I can. I’m still in physical therapy from that car accident a few years ago and have to remember to take breaks as my shoulder starts really hurting. I’m mainly doing serious original art these days but am also doing some fanart for some products for some upcoming shows. Hello all, we are in the full throws of con prep for my biggest cons but I am still chipping away at the commissions and have one of the fundraiser images finished and another one all sketched out so more will be posted soon! Sorry for the delay. I am also deeeeep into the process of plush designing and feeling a bit overwhelmed and discouraged. Doing this is NOT for the faint of heart.

Would anyone pay over 200 for a very large fat dragon plush? (SEEN HERE) am starting to get worried and discouraged. The designer in china didn’t tell me how much it would cost per piece I just designed it how I thought it should be and what features I’d want my ultimate dream dragon to have, but they said they couldn’t quote me until he was finished… Soooo I asked this week for at least a rough estimate it isn’t exact and it may be more or less, but at this point they are saying that BEFORE freight, hangtags, the tush tag, and the safety testing required so things don’t get held up in customs we are looking at already over 55 a piece BEFORE all that. To make these even worth selling I’d have to sell them for over 200 a piece which is way beyond what I had estimated or intended. He does have a special keepsake pocket on his chest was going to put little heartshaped notepads with him for a stretch goal or something so people could write their dreams.

Lots of things may have to be simplified. I also did want to do a smaller version as well but they already are telling me for sure for the small version he will need to be simplified, but I’m leaning toward simplifying this one too.

I’d love some feedback. Do you like him? would you want a chonky dragon of your own ad for a premium large plush would 200-250 be fair and would people still want him? I’m planning to get the sample soon and set up the kickstarter page so it can announce when we go live.

He has glow in the dark stars and features the fabric of his tail glows. He is weighted and floppy, and his wings are flexible with a very satisfying flexible armature (Stim toy) ( I am already thinking the flexible wings aren’t necessary even though they are really cool but may just make soft foam to cut costs here to start) I was wanting him to be the ultimate Spectrum friendly plush for both anxiety and for people that figit and or have sensory issues which is why he has 3 different fabric types too belly is mochi / squishmallow and the purple is soft minky and then fake rabbit fur on top that is super soft. I know that costs have gone up overseas since covid but it is a LOT more than last I tried making a plush with even a middleman. Anyways, I’m feeling stressed and discouraged and almost wanting to give up. I have always wanted to design my own plush line Let me know in the comments if this if you guys would even support him and want one of your own.

Hey all, sorry I’ve been silent for a bit had some medical stuff may have a hernia again so had to get some tests done which were oh so fun. Then been resting in between prepping for our upcoming two back to back shows that fingers crossed will get us enough to pay our bills the next couple months.

We are still struggling, but I keep doing all I can as does my husband. He has had three interviews at the same place so fingers crossed we hear something soon. We are really really in a bind. We are looking into some disability but that takes time. I am supposed to be on work rest since my right shoulder and knee have been really bad since the car accident a couple years ago and have gotten worse so I got two cortisone shots and am in PT but I’ve been told not to sculpt or draw for the month and am doing some freelance editing to get close to rent. Without my only other option we are really in a bind. They are treating my shoulder and I WILL be back to drawing soon but will need to catch up on a few backlog things.

On top of this my landlord informed us our rent is going up by 500 more dollars when we were barely getting by. We are looking for a roommate but that also takes time.

We would have been ok had I gotten accepted to a local show this month I was counting on but I didn’t get off the waitlist. Hubby is still struggling to get steady work and has been helping take care of me.

My credit card is maxed out so we can’t even get food or cat food we are waiting to see if we are approved for food stamps. It’s bad. I don’t really share everything but it is really bad and it also feels embarrassing to reveal this. Like I’m a failure or something. My minimum card payment is 200.

Hello everyone,

I’ve been busy with scrambling to get stuff done for shows and also dealing with a lasting shoulder and back injury from the car accident I was in two years ago. My doctor wanted me to rest for three or so weeks and not draw or sculpt during that time it’s been making me crazy. I did draw a little shhhh! But just a bit so I wouldn’t forget my idea.

I always try and keep things positive and work through anything but I’ll be honest, im feeling a bit defeated.

We were finally scratching our way to being more financially stable and out of debt and our landlord slapped us with a 500 a month increase. I can’t work normal hours and only can really do my freelance right now and my husband has been struggling for stable work even throwing tons of resumes a week to all sorts.

Once im cleared to draw in close to catching up but due to my injury It May he a while before I can do any commission work.

So because of my medical bills my dad was helping me pay not being able to be paid until next month, my credit limit has been lowered which has royally screwed our plan to get a small point and shoot digital camera for references while on our honeymoon . We have scrimped and saved for two years to pay to go to Scotland and are leaving in a week. I had planned to get a camera and get references while there to also sell as reference packs to other fantasy artists of the castles and such, to help make back some of the costs. The camera we WANTED was only 400 but is discontinued and sold out everywhere , so we would have to get the newer model which is 800 but is the perfect one for what we need. I am now doing more professional fantasy artwork even winning an award this year and need this to gather more references while on this once in a lifetime trip. The card I would have used was interest free for a year, but now my limit is useless because it’s only for 150.00.

I have been sick for weeks before the show and and then recovering after. Before Dragoncon, I had a random allergy attack (doctor says weird residual stuff from having gotten Covid) and had to have an epi-pen for the first time. Hello everyone! I’ve been prepping for my first show since pandemic happening this coming weekend so I’m a bit behind. I have two more updates from the fundraiser coming. Thank you everyone who supported my work and for me through. Fingers crossed this show goes well! I don’t draw weight gain as often anymore now that I am building up my more professional work but I am thinking of doing some fun fat fanart drawings and those that support me on patreon will be able to request or suggest characters I do next based on tier.
