LucariGrow 2025 Planning~

Its getting close to that time of year once again: the time where we expand a Lucario to cosmic proportions!
I am needing a little help though. I have multiple ideas, just having trouble narrowing it down. So! Im holding a vote! The poll will be open for a while, so no rush.
I have a few surprises in store as well~ I want this to be a massive celebration of Lucario~!

Drive Update

I have about 5 images scheduled to post tomorrow. I had intended them to post after the end of the drive, however, the drive obviously still isn't over. I've still got a couple parts to do, and then commissions will get underway.
Why the delay? I was at a DDR tournament last weekend, and it was MUCH more draining than I thought it would be. I still haven't fully recovered physically, and I'm still trying to catch up on some sleep, haha. (Yes it was very fun, I even won some prizes c:)
Anyway, I'll be getting back to it very soon. Wanted to post an update.

Hiatus
Posted 4 years agoI have decided to go on a hiatus. I don't know when I'll be back, just that I'll be back. There's so many things about the macro/growth and even furry community as a whole that I really don't get along with. I really need to take a step back and just.. take a breather.
I'm sure everyone already knows what it is about macros and even other kinds of growth I dislike, but in in case you aren't I'll list em here. Destruction, stomping, crushing, vore, the self-absorbed nature of it all, the apathy shown towards everything, and the enthusiasm for actual death. I understand everyone has their preferences, and that its all fiction, and that the people who do enjoy these things aren't really bad people. Knowing this doesn't help anything. It doesn't stop the visceral negative reactions I have to these things, and it never will.
It feels as though gentle macros and those who primarily enjoy them are swept under the rug. It is so incredibly rare that I meet someone who enjoys macros and doesn't rampage. Anytime I do meet someone who says they enjoy gentle macros, I'll immediately see something of them rampaging, destroying things, and they'll come back to me and say "oh yeah i like that too X3". This ends up being why I feel wrong for not enjoying it. that I'm missing out on something that I can't grasp.
Finally, this leads me to the fact that there is no place for gentle macros. I have tried many servers and groups, but it all feels like it gets taken over by crushing. Even worse to find that the people in these groups enthusiastically enjoy it.
I don't have any problems with anyone on a personal level. That needs to be said first and foremost. The best solution to this whole problem has been to avoid the things that trigger all this, but time and time again, it just ends up shoved back in my face whether it be on Discord, Twitter, FA, or Telegram. To those of you who know me on Discord, I am not leaving. I will still be talking and things, but I won't be posting art, or viewing any of it.
Lastly, since there is no place currently for just gentle macro content... I'll be taking initiative once again and creating one. When I come back, there will be a Discord server for just that.

As a preface, I understand this may be very silly, and I doubt a lot of people truly care, but I really feel like I need to say this. I don't want to call anyone out because this isn't anyone's fault, and I don't really want to drag other people into this who don't even know me.
I've been going through some things the past couple days. We are currently in October, and that means we're in LucariOctober. I don't know how big of an event this is, but I know at least one other person and myself are doing things for it. Originally, I wasn't planning on it. But when I saw the new growth thing going on, I decided to do something about it.
The thing about this is, the other drive... The Lucario in that one is destructive. And the thing about this is, its been eating away at me because I originally thought that the mass destruction of the planet sort of terrified me. But the more I thought about it, the more I've come to realize that.. I actually enjoy it.
Why is this significant? Because I have always been adamant about drawing and liking only gentle Lucarios. It became the crux of my art, the reason I started drawing in the first place. Eventually, it became part of my identity. I had really believed that I actually hated destruction, and to find out I actually don't and kinda like it kinda leaves me shaken. It feels as though I'm betraying the reason I started doing art... like I'm betraying part of myself.
Lucario is the biggest reason I came into the furry fandom. He's very special and dear to me, and the idea of him doing the destroying... it didn't sit well with me. The fact that i'm now getting ok with Lucario destroying... it really messes me up. And I don't even know if this is entirely the case yet. I still feel uneasy at the thought.
I think that might be it... I know this might be very silly, and something that I shouldn't even have a problem with, but its how I feel and.. well yeah. feel free to come at me with comments or whatever.. I just needed this out. Thanks for reading.

Posted 8 years agoI have honestly lost nearly all my confidence as an artist at the moment. I keep letting myself get dragged down with how I fail to finish whatever I start, and how my art compares to everyone else. I keep wanting to get more into the community, but just end up feeling alienated. Feel like this is going nowhere no matter how much work I put in. Hell i barely know where this journal is going. I know this isn't the best place to put these words as I don't think anyone will really even read it, but I still feel like I have to get these words out. I end up frustrated that I'm not at the level I want to be, and it keeps me from even trying. How do you get over this?
