Please Complete my Pricing Survey!
General | Posted 5 years agoHello all! I have been considering offering commissions and YCHs in the near future, but I want to get your feedback on how much I should charge for them. I want to set a fair price for you, as well as for myself.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/79RY637
I will also clarify the difference between the "unique, non-duplicated YCH" and "duplicated YCH" in the survey. Currently, all the YCH's I have offered have been "unique, non-duplicated" as once they are purchased, I do not reuse the YCH base. A "duplicated YCH" will basically be me reusing a YCH base so multiple people can purchase it. These YCHs will also be relatively simple, and will have their cost be significantly lower than the "unique, non-duplicated" ones.
Thank you for reading, and thank you again for taking my survey, it will really help out everyone a lot!

Big Oof Injury
General | Posted 5 years agoHello everyone!
I guess I really need to put out an update on myself. While I was hoping to do more artwork and such during the COVID-19 lockdown, my mother and online school has kept me busy. Just as things started to open up near home however, I had a freak horse accident.
While cleaning the ear of one my horses from ear mites, Anne decided to rear up while I was leaning over her head. The top of her head stuck me in the center of my chest and sent me flying about like 6 feet (2 meters) up in the air. One second I was on the ground the next instance I was flying. It happened so fast and unexpectedly. I landed on my right side, and broke my hip. I was taken to the hospital, and they performed surgery the next day to put in three long metal screws to attach my bones together. I'm back home now, but I still have another month of recovery to go through.
My plan currently is to work on some personal art to warm myself back up, then I am considering to make a batch of female anthro pin-up YCHs.
I'm always open for suggestions, so if you have any ideas of YCHs you want me to potentially offer, just let me know in the comments below!
I hope everyone else is doing far better than I am!

Taking Commission Offers! [Closed]
General | Posted 6 years agoHello all!
I'm finally opening commissions! However, this will not be your standard commission ordering process!
Sadly, I can only take one, or maybe two commissions, as my plan is to complete these commissions before January 1st. I also want to make this as fair as possible to allow people the opportunity to get the commission spot! Therefore, rather than the person who messages me first getting the spot, I will instead take multiple offers, then choose the commission that that appeals to me the most.
If you are interested in commissioning me, please leave a comment on this journal of what you want your commission to be, a link to a reference sheet, as well as your price range in USD. Also, all payments need to be made through PayPal. I will request payment once the linework has been completed.
Also, here's a small list of suggestions may help to get your offer picked:
-I prefer to draw equines, anthro or feral, though this does not disqualify other species
-I am looking for a relatively simple piece, something like a solo pinup with a simple background
-I'm more comfortable drawing females, but I'm open to drawing a male or possibly a herm
-Simple and realistic coloration of the character
-SFW or NSFW is completely fine
Things I will NOT draw:
-MLP
-crotch boobs on Feral mares
-M/M
-Anal
Anyway, that is all! I hope everyone is having a happy holiday season!
Best of luck!

Don't miss out on my $25 USD YCHs!
General | Posted 7 years agoHello all! Here are the YCHs I have open right now!
https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....CH-_Pinup2.png https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/458978743839490048/512282212507582504/YCH_Pinup3.png
The only requirement to get them at $25 USD is to join my Discord server. Why? Well, it make it a WHOLE lot easier for me to communicate with you! If I have to post them onto FA for them to sell, I'm increasing the base price to $35 USD due to having to deal with the whole headache with communicating with notes and time delays. As an added bonus, you'll be able watch me working on your piece through a stream!
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!
I'm not the only artist on my server! I also share it with
TabascoCat,
CandyMare and
Pyramid_head_approves! Thus, you get to see their WIPs, chat and be able to see their YCH offers and streams more easily! Four artists in one!
So, save yourself $10 USD, prevent me from getting a headache, watch the streams, and interact with three other talented artists!
Here's the invite link: https://discord.gg/Ay58rfH
I'll see you there! :-D

Introducing the New Equine Discord Server "The Paddocks!"
General | Posted 7 years agoHello All!
I am proud to announce the creation of a new Discord server The Paddocks! It is an furry equine based server that shows both anthro and feral artwork.
Currently I am using this server to show off my finished artwork and to make it more accessible. It allows for me to easily upload my works in progress (which is something that I have not been doing very well on FA...) and makes it significantly easier for people to get in contact with me!
I'm also in the process of making some YCH bases, which I am willing to sell on a discount to people that are a part of my server! So, check it out! :-D
https://discord.gg/xmzKFCh
Also, I have designed this server to be for more artists or commissioners, so if you are interested in creating your own "paddock" where you can upload your own artwork and commissions, then please let me know!
Hope to see you there!

What to draw next?
General | Posted 7 years agoAlrighty, well, I'm not home yet, at the time of writing this journal, I am waiting for six hours for my connecting flight to get back home! (After having a six and a half hour flight from the UK... :-P )
So, I'm trying to make plans for once I get back to my computer and graphics tablet.
I have ideas for two personal "warm-up" pieces using my characters, after that I have a few ideas:
1) draw some female anthro equine pin-ups, which I might do commissions and YCHs from. Pose suggestions will be greatly appreciated! :-D
2) Draw a large historical themed WWII piece, showcasing the both the P-47 Thunderbolt and American Tank Destroyers (M10, M18, or the M36). The crew members of the TD will probably be YCH slots, or requests.
3) I have a concept for a 20-25 page NSFW comic, featuring my characters.
Let me know if any of you are interested in any of these ideas and feel free to make suggestions! :-D
ALSO, I will also release my Discord channel within the next two days! I'll post a lot more of my WIPs there, and also possibly do some streams there! Hope to see you there!

Off to Wales! I'll be missing in action for two weeks.
General | Posted 7 years agoHello all! Just an announcement that I am going to be flying out of the country to the UK for two weeks. I will be away from my personal computer during this time, therefore, it is going to be significantly more difficult to contact me, and I will not be uploading any artwork during this time. I'll try my best to try and check FA at least once a day, but I cannot make any promises!
When I get back, I am planning on opening up my Discord social experiment: The Paddocks! This Discord server is centered around smaller artists that have a focus on drawing anthro and/or feral equines. Each artist will have their own miniature server within the server (which I can calling a Paddock) where they can show off their artwork and have their own chatrooms so they can easily receive complements and critiques, as well as expanding their recognition within the equine community! There will also be a few general chatrooms for general Discord anarchy. I will give more details about it once I return and polish it a bit more, but if anyone has any ideas or suggestions about this server, then please let me know!
I've been certainly been looking forward for this trip, but I also can't wait to come back and officially get back into the swing of things!
As always thanks for the support!

Wooo! Graduated!
General | Posted 7 years agoLast Saturday, I graduated from college with a Bachelor of Arts in History! Surprisingly, I also managed to graduate with honors, as I managed this semester to pull my grade to be higher than a 3.50 GPA!
So, with that out of the way, I should be able to get a bit more free time to work on art! :-D I will most likely be gone for two weeks in early June as I am taking a trip to the UK. Hopefully I will have another update before then.
My current agenda is to finish drawing references for my characters, and then probably do a bit more personal art. After that, I might open up for requests, commissions and YCHs!
If you have any congratulations, ideas or suggestions, feel free to comment them here!
And as always, thank you for your support!

The Equine Anthro Style Debate
General | Posted 7 years agoHello all!
So, in my ever ending quest to study and improve my art, I've came across a particular issue: What style of anthro do I draw?
To start, I will define that there are two main classes of equine anthros. This image link should help define what I am discussing, and I will use it as a reference: https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachme.....048/images.jpg
The first (and the left side of the image linked above) is what I call "idealized anthros." These characters share a lot of equine characteristics, usually having hooves and equine like tails. The facial structure however is generally significantly different than the other class of anthros. Generally, they will always have enlarged human like eyes, and smaller noses, which are generally significantly more narrow at the nose than connecting with the rest of the head. Perhaps an extreme form of this are MLP anthros, though personally, I find that they're so far from being equine that I don't consider them on the scale. Most equine anthro fury art falls into this category, hence why I call it the "idealized anthro" category.
The second category, and the right side of the above linked picture is the "feral-esk" (feral-like) anthro. Namely, the largest contrast between this style is that it is that the facial structure based off feral or real-life equines. Here, the ideal leans towards more equine-like rather than human like. Like the "idealized anthro" category, there is a range within this category, such as the use of the more solid color of equine eyes, how the lower legs are jointed, and hand hooves (which in my opinion, hand hooves pretty much defeats the whole purpose of being an anthro in the first place!).
For myself, personally, I lean towards the "feral-esk" side. This is mainly due to my practice of using "feral" equine facial anatomy and manes. I generally do not enlarge the eyes very much from what they are on real life equines, though I will add human like eyes and eyebrows for easier representation of the character's expression. I also follow the "feral-esk" category as it allows me to express different equine breeds easier, Arabians with their dished faces, American Quarter horses with their more pronounced jaws, the more straight faced Warmbloods, and the necks of Baroque conformation breeds. I feel that "idealized anthros" often are missing most of the traits that make the different breeds of horses so unique. So many "idealized anthros" just end up looking like the same character, just with different colors and hairstyles.
However, I know there are problems with following the "feral-esk" style. First of all, it is a minority faction of anthro artists. Many people find "feral-esk" anthros uncanny, or a bit too realistic. Feral characters already have issues in the furry community as being too far, thus it is possible for them to lump "feral-esk" anthros into this category as well.
However, despite this, I still prefer to follow the "feral-esk" style. Yes, I still add some humanizing features, such as eyes, eyebrows, and forward facing knees, but I prefer to use are more real life anatomy for the facial structure to assist in making each character unique.
But anyways, I am curious to hear your own opinions on the mater! What style of anthro do you like or prefer to draw? What are your opinions on the different types of anthros? What's your ideal anthro anatomy? My only request is to please keep the discussions civil!

My wayyyyyyyyy past overdue update on myself
General | Posted 8 years agoI apologize if I haven't posted much of anything since last December! College has been crazy busy and I haven't had the time to decompress since this week due to being Spring Break. I probably should of been spent working on an annotated bibliography and the rough draft of my major historiography paper, which are both due next week... Oh well...
I have some WIPs that I need to wrap up, such "The Meeting of the Herds" (the no-longer-a-surprise gift for Kiliq ),"Winona Studying", and two untiled pieces, one staring both anthro Lotte and Winona (basic colors done, just need the shading and details) and the other still in the concept stage of anthro Fusilier in the Prussian War of Liberation in 1813.
If I find the inspiration, I might try to work on that Winona and Lotte piece tonight, but no promises that I will be able to finish it tonight!
Unfortunately, other than tonight, it might be until the month of May when I graduate from college that I will be able to find the time to draw and finish up a piece, or at least have the time to work more consistently on my art.
So, sorry about the wait! But as always, thanks for the support!

December Plans!
General | Posted 8 years agoAlrightly, so bad news first, my computer is dead, and I have finals next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Good news is that I have a new computer on the way, and once finals are over, I get the rest of December off! Therefore I will have time to do more art! :-D
I still have my list from earlier that I need to finish, however I think I might of lost both of Haflinger's and Rainstorm's request pieces due to my computer failing. However, I am more than willing to draw them again if they desire.
I'm going to work on Silao's transformation request next. After that's complete, I will draw my surprise for Kiliq so he can finally stop living in suspense that I have been keeping him in for the past few months! :-D
After that, I'm going to do some personal art and character sheets for my little herd.
Following that, if I'm out ideas, I'll open up for requests again. :-D
However, I will have to return for my final semester at college in early January, and it's going to be a busy semester. I'll have to make a schedule, but I am planning on reserving one day or afternoon of the week just for art stuff.
Anyway, that is all for now, and I wish you all a happy holiday season!

URGENT!- CHECK YOUR RATINGS PARTICULARLY FOR FERAL STALLIONS
General | Posted 8 years agoHey guys, urgent news, it seems that there's a rating crusade going on in FA of late, both Morrigan the Marwari ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8518982/ ) and Ash the Mare ( http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/8519164/ ) have mentioned about it, and Morrigan has been threatened with account suspension.
It seems that now, any showing of the sheath and/or balls now has to be considered to be mature, even without arousal. Therefore PLEASE check the ratings of your art, particularly for stallions!
PLEASE spread the word as there doesn't seem to an official announcement about this change or warnings. It seems to be going straight to the admins. :-/
I personally find it silly, as now pictures such as http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23861626/ and http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25389086/ is now considered to be mature, but whatever. I don't want a fight, just spread the word please! Thanks!

Thankful For Everything, Except For My Computer...
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, uh, bad news first. Something has screwed up my computer, causing it to reboot every 30 mins to an hour of use, and I'm getting warning messages about Critical Structure Errors, or Memory errors. I've done some fancy command prompt .exe's, scans, and dozens of reboots. Either it's a Windows Update gone wrong, a virus that I can't find, or my computer is finally calling it quits after six years counless hours of reading Wikipedia articles, playing computer games, modding said computer games or drawing a few pictures. Who knows?
Therefore, I'm resetting my computer as my second to last resort. I've saved a backup, but well, I don't know how deep this problem is so I might loose everything. Perhaps, I might be able to salvage a few things, or get it back up and running with little to no hiccups. Again, who knows?
UPDATE: While typing this the reset failed, causing it to reboot and cancel. So, I'm going to have to purge everything. I copied all of my SAI files and SAI program to my external hard drive, so hopefully I won't loose my art. But yeah, a hard wipe/restart is required. Good lord...
However, this also means that I might be in the market for a new computer, but this had to happen right now on the eve of Black Friday, so I doubt that I'll really have the time to look up new computers or all of the deals are already all gone. :-/ Oh well.
So, other than that massive amount of drama, everything's all well and fine for me. I just want to get this all resolved and repaired. I guess this will force me outside to spend some more time with my horses. :-P
But, for the rest of you all, I hope all of you have a good day, and be thankful that you're not having my computer troubles! :-D

Almost Forgot, it's my Birthday! (October 6th)
General | Posted 8 years agoSorry I haven't informed you all earlier! College and tests have been keeping me busy, though fortunately fall break is happening so I'm getting this Thursday and Friday off, so I'm back home where the food's much better, the grass is more natural, and the barn is a whole lot closer. :-D I also get to spend some time with my four horses! Though one of them wasn't as pleased has he kicked me in the butt, but spending some time lunging him reminded him about who's in charge here. :-P I'm fine by the way, just a bit bruised and my spirit is still high. The other ones were appreciative of me, and were glad I gave him a bit of discipline (he's quite the tyrant at times...). I've given them scratches in their itchy spots and the affection that they deserve. The other one, well, I'll pet him when he behaves and stops being an ass. :-P
But yeah, it's great to be back home! I wish I didn't have to leave them to go to college, but, well, life is life.
Anyway, I do need some assistance! I can't think of a background of this piece: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/24997208/ , so please give it a look and leave a comment! It helps significantly!
Hopefully, I'll find the time to start another piece, but there's still some stuff with college that I need to catch up on. Unfortunately things are still going to be busy for me at college, so it might be until December until I can work on projects quicker. I have a list of ideas that I'm looking forward on creating. :-D
Anyway, thanks for the support and appreciation for my work you all have given!
Thanks again!

9/13/2017 Project List Update
General | Posted 8 years agoSorry for the lack of uploads in the past two weeks! I've unfortunately been busy with college and going back home taking care and spending time with the horses for the past two weekends and chatting a bit too much with
Kiliq. :-P
However, this weekend, I'm going to dedicate some time for drawing, so hopefully I will be able to knock some things off the list.
Without further ado, here's my Project List:
Finish
Haflinger's Shire.
-- The character is mostly done, just needs edits, shading and a background. I will probably use this piece
to experiment on importing and creating custom brushes into SAI, so it will probably not be finished this weekend.
Finish outline for
Rainstorm's Dhole Miranda.
-- I've started on it, this, but yet again, I'm not familiar with canine anatomy at all, so this one is still taking a lot of studying to draw her properly. Once I get a bit more drawn and that I am confident with it being presentable, I may ask for your opinion on it.
Draw concept mare transformation scene for
Silao.
-- Haven't started, but I will hopefully soon. I'm kinda excited for this one! :-D
Draw Character sheets for Fusilier, feral and anthro, and feral Belle.
-- Something that I really need to do. :-P I might start on feral Belle this weekend if I have the time.
Draw something for
Kiliq.
-- I forgot what he requested, and I can't search back through our chat logs easily as we've chatted a LOT over the past two weeks. But I'm pretty sure he will remind me if I ask. :-D

Current Project List 8-28-17
General | Posted 8 years agoHello all! Here's just an update on what I am working on.
This is my current list of projects, I'll try to follow these in order, however, my inspiration can hit at random times.
1: Finish
Haflinger's Shire
2: Continue struggling with drawing a femboy dragon for
Jaei
3: Draw
Rainstorm's Dhole
4: Draw mare transformation scene for
Silao, might possibly become a series.
5: Draw Character sheets for Fusilier, feral and anthro, and feral Belle.
I do believe that this is enough projects to keep me satisfied for the next few weeks hopefully.
However, if anyone is interested, I can still add on a few more, particularity if I happen to finish these fairly quickly, but please be mindful that college is starting to go into full swing, so I might have to start studying and reading textbooks rather than drawing art. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
Also, I do have a Discord account, so if you are interested in chatting with me there, then let me know and I'll send you my info.
Anyway, thank you all for your interest and support!

It Happened!
General | Posted 8 years agoSo, in case you people did not know, my home and college was in the path of totality during the eclipse.
Unfortunately, Clifford, the big gray cloud, decided it was a suitable moment to give us some shade when the poor moon finally fully obscured the sun. However, it did get really dark really fast, and it looked like dusk. It even fooled the crickets, who started to begin their evening chirps. :-P
Still, it was a really cool experience! I'm really fortunate to just have been living in the path that the eclipse occurred and did have to travel to see it!
Best of luck to the rest of you all!
There is going to be a submission from me very soon!

What's Next?
General | Posted 8 years agoAlrighty! Well, since I've finished my Free YCH "Welcome to the Herd" group image, I've been deciding on what my next little project will be.
This weekend, I'm picking up my first artist tablet (as it got shipped home instead of to college) so I'll probably be testing that out with SAI. GIMP does not have pressure sensitivity, so it's now probably going to be only used for edits, details and effects. I've still have just been playing with SAI's linework layers mainly, which in my mind is its greatest strength. Still I have quite a bit of work in it for me to figure out how to apply my style with it, but that's half the fun! :-D
So, right now I am focusing on improving my art. My current plan is to use the Mawari image for
Morrigan_The_Marwari that I'm working on as a bit of a guinea pig for testing out SAI. After that, I'm going to do some studies of horse anatomy (knees, hocks, eyes, ears nostrils, hooves, mane and tail textures and so on). I'm still mainly focusing on ferals, but once I am confident with them, I'll start learning how to draw anthros as well. If I get a bit of inspiration, I might draw a few gifts for people, though I will ask for permission before doing so. Therefore, I don't think there are going to be many fully completed works in the near future. College is going to have me a bit busy, I'm actually cutting out playing computer games pretty much all together and replacing that with working on art in my free time instead. Which, to be honest is a really quite a major change for me.
Anyway, if anyone has any requests, or don't mind having their character being used as a guinea pig for some of my studies then please let me know!
Thanks! And as always, I appreciate your support!

Off to College!
General | Posted 8 years agoAlright all, well, college is starting a bit on the busy side, even before classes officially start!
I haven't even moved in yet, as that will be on Saturday, but that weekend is going to be far more busy than I've originally thought! I'm not a music major, but I'm in the college's band. However, due to the nature of the instrument that I play, the Horn in F (more commonly called a French Horn), and that I'm halfway decent at it, I kinda get conscripted into extra music activities despite that I'm not a music major or minor. So, I've been "volunteered" to play at Commencement (the ceremony of the start of classes), one rehearsal and then showtime, so, uh, I guess I need to get my chops in shape. :-P (The worse part is that I don't even get paid for this.)
Therefore, I'll have to put the "Welcome to the Herd" group picture on hold for a bit as I have to to get back to horn performance shape. Generally, the first week of classes are fairly laid back, just going over the syllabus, so hopefully I can wrap up the picture soon. I've added some details, as well as textures to the manes and tails. I just need to finish the coats, play with the lighting and shade, and add few foreground textures. I'm basically 85% finished with the picture, I just need one good day of art mana and that should wrap it up!
I'm also thinking about creating some separate solo pictures for each mare that is in the scene, if anyone is interested.
Anyway, thanks for reading!
And as always, thanks for your support!

Fusilier, Escaped Horse Capturer! Plus Update on Series.
General | Posted 8 years agoHello all!
So today has gotten off on an adventurous start when my family got a phone call that four horses were loose in the neighborhood. Fortunately, they were not ours, but I was concerned about their safety as well as for other people who were not as experienced as I am with horses. Therefore, I went out to look for them, to make sure they were okay and to keep other people from doing anything stupid (I've seen far too many people make the situation worse by trying to herd them...). I went down and got a lead rope, just in case, then went out to look for them. I did find them on the other end of the neighborhood grazing in a grass lot behind a vacant house. I kept my distance, and I called my father to let them know where they were, as there was no sign of the owner. For the horses safety, we planned to escort them back to our house until the owner was found, so he went a put our horses in the back lot and to get a bucket of grain. During the phone call, one of the horses noticed me, and started to approach me, so I also closed the distance, but at an angle, so I wasn't going straight at him. I also clicked my tongue, which I guess in my part of the States is generally the most common way to call over a horse. I eventually stopped walking when I got to a spot where the grass was mowed, but still called him over as he was still curious of me, I also assumed a relaxed pose, and didn't stare at them directly. The other horses then followed the first one, and fortunately none of them seemed to be stressed or worried. Eventually he approached me, and I let him sniff my hand, which I guess got him even more curious as I probably smell like my own horses. Another one of the horses approached, and I assumed that she was lead mare, as she made the first one move off to the side as she started to sniff me. A third soon followed. The fourth one, a grey buckskin, seemed to be more interested with grazing near by than observing me. However, at this time, someone drove up in a golf cart with a bucket of grain, who fortunately was the owner, and he escorted them back to his place. Apparently, the horses knocked down a part of the fence and got out. So, yeah, I got to meet three new horses, though the owner wasn't all that talkative, though granted it was still in the morning, and obviously he wanted his horses safely back home.
So, other than that little bit of excitement, I'm still working on the group picture. I've gotten all of the basic coloration done for the mares, and added some details. I'll upload my progress on it sometime this evening. I'm currently drawing my feral fursona Fusilier, as I'll be adding him to the background somewhere so those mares aren't just staring and flirting at an empty white void. :-P
If any of you all have any questions, comments or whatever for me, just leave them below!

Sorry, More Unexpected Delays...
General | Posted 8 years agoHello all!
So, this journal is more directed to the members of my free YCH "Welcome to the Herd" Series, so if you're not interested in that then there is no need to read this. But thanks for you support as always!
I am currently working on the group picture. I have the outlines for all of your mares completed, and I am working on drawing the lines for my sorrel American Quarter Horse Belle in the picture.
Anyway, unexpectedly, I might have ten guests (3 adults, 7 kids...) that are coming to my house and farm tomorrow and they are staying overnight. I will probably have to babysit and make sure they don't do anything stupid (which they will probably do).
So, because of this, I'm probably not going to be able to finish the group picture this weekend. If everything goes well tonight, I might be able to upload my finished outlines.
Anyway, best of luck to all of you, and thanks for your support!

Closing of Free YCH Series "Welcome to the Herd"
General | Posted 8 years agoWell, I guess four mares are enough for the group image to look like a herd. :-P
However, if you really want in, and you are not in it already, please send me a note, comment or whatever within the next twenty-four hours and I'll see if I can add you in.
I might add one of my own mares, probably Belle, into it if four doesn't feel like enough.
Obviously, the main reason that I haven't had as many entries in this as I hoped is that I'm still virtually unknown, so I need to get more art out and comment on other works and such to get noticed. However, I personally feel bad that I'm constantly putting the "Welcome to the Herd" Series on hold while I am waiting for people to notice it and submit their characters. I know poor
Stalliontyler has been waiting over a month (and yes, I am working on your gypsy's udder, don't worry).
Besides, I think drawing a group of sexy mares with a background might help me get me noticed a bit more. :-P
Therefore, my plan is that by next week I'll try to have the group picture done. If there is enough interest, I might draw another group image for this series (most likely SFW, so I can use it as my desktop background). I wish I could plan further ahead, but summer is starting to come to a end, and I'm going back to college soon, and I have no idea how busy or not I will be.
Anyway, thanks for your support as always!

Baby Goats - Expect Delays - Current Agenda - 7/14/2017
General | Posted 8 years agoThe short version: I'll probably have to take care of goats so my productivity might be less. But don't worry too much, I will get my YHC series going. I'll try and make one more call to see if anyone else wants their mares in, and if not, well, I guess I will just have to add some of my own.
Also, I'm breaking this journal into two parts, one with my real life story, and the other with my planned agenda for artwork.
Story time:
Well, one of my family's goats gave birth to two particularly cute does. Now, we really didn't plan or expected her to get pregnant again, as she already kidded another doe earlier this season. However, she's one of our better does and takes care of her babies very well. Except, during her last nursing period earlier this season, one of her teats was clogged and everything that we could do wasn't able to unclog it. She was able to raise her kid okay, but one half of her udder was very swollen the entire time and she was not comfortable. We decided that due to that, we shouldn't breed her anymore, but well, bucks are bucks...
While the birthing went okay, we discovered that her not just one, but both of her teats were clogged, so while she was probably producing milk, none of it would get to her teats to nurse her kids. We called the vet over to see if they could do something that might unclog her udder, but unfortunately we had no luck, as it seems that both of her udders are clogged with scar tissue. Therefore we now have to do the dreaded bottle feeding every four hours for two kids. Plus, because her udders are clogged now, the two kids won't be able to get her colostrum which has a lot of the antibiotics and such for them, so we have to give them some colostrum replacer which isn't as healthy but better than nothing.
My family has not yet fully laid out plans on who is going to be responsible for taking care of them, but I might have to do them as well as the horses, so I might be busier than I would want.
Agenda:
My objective by next week is to make a colored version of the three mares, and at least make outlines for the other two missing mares and then make another announcement for the YCH series. If I don't get any takers, I'll just create some characters of my own.
I also currently have another unrelated piece in the works (most of the lines are done) though I don't know if I should go ahead and finish it or put it on hold for my YCH series. It might help me get a few more requests for my series. If all goes well, I'll upload the line concept to my scraps.
Anyway, thanks for reading!
