Ay this is a bit of a heavy journal to write about given I used to be a quite active pokemon fanartist when joined here quite some years ago.
Not long ago I've drawn a quick Pokemon picture, for the first time in years, of a Meganium with Fennekin saying I'd leave Legends Z-A as my final journey as Pokemon trainer. I ended up deleting that picture because

turns out I've ultimately figured I simply don't want to play Pokemon anymore already prior to the launch of the latest legends game.

What changed well, I'm a Steam Deck player now. And that change from Nintendo to another thing was the most fun I have ever felt in years.

I am playing Digimon Time Stranger which is a blast, the game is not just beautiful but also very very very fun!

What really convinced me to get the game though was I've got new favourite Digimon from it! That will be shown in my future art.

So in resume, my interest in drawing Pokemon faded entirely 3 years ago. Now it is gaming, as I was occasionally playing sometimes. But now, I just want to play Digimon and others things.

I would even say Digimon is like a passion project because it doesn't have the crushing pressure that Pokemon has to deal with for profit and that's what makes much more appealing for me.

It is interesting a lot of Pokemon media influencers have played Digimon Time Stranger and enjoying it. Pokemon and Digimon fans alike playing the game, that's great!

Anyway Digimon is what I like now, it what makes me happy and entertained and inspired. It helps me to manage my medical condition and keep fighting to keep myself alive and getting the support I need to get through.

Bringing closure to Pokemon gaming happened sooner than I hoped for but I am ready to let it go.
If the retirement is permanent or not remains to be seen, but in my experience once I move on I just don't go back. It has been 3 years since I stopped drawing Pokemon and it feels great to not mask anymore about it so this is another step to be true to myself.
