THE DREAMERS
They are the architects of greatness. Their vision lies within their souls. They never see the mirages of Fact, but peer beyond the veils and mists of doubt and pierce the walls of unborn Time.
The World has accoladed them with jeer and sneer and jibe, for worlds are made of little men who take but never give—who share but never spare—who cheer a grudge and grudge a cheer.
Wherefore, the paths of progress have been sobs of blood dropped from their broken hearts.
Makers of the empire, they have fought for bigger things than crowns and higher seats than thrones. Fanfare and pageant and the right to rule or will to love are not the fires which wrought their resolution into steel. Grief only streaks their hairs with silver, but has never grayed their hopes.
They are the Argonauts, the seekers of the priceless fleece—the Truth.
Through all the ages they have heard the voice of Destiny call to them from the unknown vasts. They dare uncharted seas, for they are makers of the carts. With only cloth of courage at their masts and with no compass save their dreams, they sail away undaunted for the far, blind shores.
Their brains have wrought all human miracles. In lace of stone their spires stab the Old World’s skies and with their golden crosses kiss the sun.
The belted wheel, the trail of steel, the churning screw, are shuttles in the loom on which they weave their magic tapestries.
A flash out in the night leaps leagues of snarling seas and cries to shore for help, which, but for one man’s dream, would never come.
Their tunnels plow the riverbed and chain the islands to the Motherland.
Their wings of canvas beat the air and add the highways of the eagle to human paths.
A God-hewn voice swells from a disc of glue and wells out through a throat of brass, caught sweet and whole, to last beyond the maker of the song, because a dreamer dreamt.
What would you have of fancy or of fact if hands were all with which men had to build?
Your homes are set upon the land a dreamer found. The pictures on its walls are visions from a dreamer’s soul. A dreamer’s pain wails from your violin.
They are the chosen few—the Blazers of the Way—who never wear Doubt’s bandage on their eyes—who starve and chill and hurt, but hold to courage and hope, because they know that there is always proof of truth for them who try—that only cowardice and lack of faith can keep the seeker from his chosen goal, but if his heart be strong and if he dream enough and dream it hard enough, he can attain, not matter where men failed before.
Walls crumble and empires fall. The tidal wave sweeps from the sea and tears a fortress from its rocks. The rotting nations drop from off Time’s bough, and only things the dreamers make live on.
They are the Eternal Conquerors—their vassals are the years.

It is said that what is called the Spirit of an Age is something to which one cannot return. That this spirit gradually dissipates is due to the world's coming to an end. In the same way, a single year does not have just spring or summer. A single day, too, is the same. For this reason, although one would like to change today's world back to the spirit of one hundred years or more ago, it cannot be done. Thus it is important to make the best out of every generation.
..................................................................................................................................................................................
There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything.
...................................................................................................................................................................................
It is bad when one thing becomes two. One should not look for anything else in the Way of the Samurai. It is the same for anything that is called a Way. If one understands things in this manner, he should be able to hear about all ways and be more and more in accord with his own.
...................................................................................................................................................................................
Among the maxims on Lord Naoshige's wall, there was this one: "Matters of great concern should be treated lightly." Master Ittei commented, "Matters of small concern should be treated seriously."
....................................................................................................................................................................................
Most people have heard this one: “God helps those that help themselves.” It’s another phantom scripture that appears nowhere in the Bible, but many people think it does. It's actually attributed to Benjamin Franklin, one of the nation's founding fathers.
The passage is popular in part because it is a reflection of cherished American values: individual liberty and self-reliance, says Sidnie White Crawford, a religious studies scholar at the University of Nebraska.
Yet that passage contradicts the biblical definition of goodness: defining one’s worth by what one does for others, like the poor and the outcast, Crawford says.
Crawford cites a scripture from Leviticus that tells people that when they harvest the land, they should leave some “for the poor and the alien” (Leviticus 19:9-10), and another passage from Deuteronomy that declares that people should not be “tight-fisted toward your needy neighbor.”
.....................................................................................................................................................................................
“Too many people are using religion as a sword to fight those with whom they disagree, instead of as a plowshare to help their fellow neighbors tend the land and form a community,” said Minor, who retired as a United Methodist Church pastor after 23 years.
“Shouting louder than the other guys only results in more shouting, which never gets anything done,” he said. “The key is to go about your life, as one of the faithful, and to make sure you actually do at least one thing each day that reflects the faith in which you believe.”
by Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Today I pray for people in Africa and throughout the world who long for freedom because they are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. It grieves me to be retiring at this crucial moment in history, so I write to you in this open letter, to invite you to pick up the work that remains to be done. More than 70 countries still imprison or execute gay and transgender people, and bullying and murders are all too common. This must change.
Each of you is called to respond to God's urgency for love and life. So whether you are in South Africa, the United States or anywhere else, humanity needs to accept its own diversity as a gift from our Creator. Lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are part of our family of God.
I have always striven for a life of love in action. Many told me to stop. They called me a communist or they told me that I might be killed. Now, I have lived long, and one choice that comes with age is how to deal with our own mortality. Should we be more careful or be more bold? Should we rest on our laurels or respond to the urgency of justice?
Boldly, I urge all faith leaders and politicians to stop persecuting people based on their sexual orientation or gender identity. Every day people live in fear because of who they love. We are talking about our family members, our flesh and blood, our humanity. LGBT people are in our villages, towns, cities, countries -- and our whole world.
In South African churches we have sung, "Oh freedom! Freedom is coming, oh yes, I know." We sang this chorus at the lowest points of our journey toward freedom against the racist and colonialist system of apartheid, and we still sing it to this day. Freedom is coming -- and those of us who have freedom must speak out for those whose freedom is under attack. We can and must make a difference.

Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy.
Love is never boastful, nor conceited, nor rude;
It is not self-seeking, nor easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrongdoing.
It does not delight in evil,
But rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, trusts, hopes, and preserves.
There is nothing love cannot face;
There is no limit to its faith, hope, and endurance.
In a word, there are three things that last forever:
Faith, hope, and love;
But the greatest of them all is love.
-- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
"One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: That word is love." - Sophocles
"Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away." - Dorothy Parker
"Love is everything it's cracked up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it...It really is worth fighting for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk everything, you risk even more." - Erica Jong
"Love has no awareness of merit or demerit; it has no scale... Love loves; this is its nature." - Howard Thurman
"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."
-St. Augustine
"To love is to suffer. To avoid suffering one must not love. But then one suffers from not loving. Therefore to love is to suffer, not to love is to suffer. To suffer is to suffer. To be happy is to love. To be happy then is to suffer. But suffering makes one unhappy. Therefore, to be unhappy one must love, or love to suffer, or suffer from too much happiness. I hope you're getting this down."

Not all cat people belong to the same team
What I mean is that not all of us are quite what we seem
You see, all of us inside have beating hearts that are warm
But some of have powers into cats we transform
Under a full moon or a quarter moon or a half moon
In a bad mood with bad breath yes cat food
Like werewolves but wolves are dogs
And we're cats so we're sleeky sneaking in through the fog
And we all have a little pink butt
So now tell me what you think of that - What?
Playing with our own cats as cats
That's a fact, together in packs we can track rats
We can play real mean chase each other up a screen
Or a tree or play sweet and even lick each other clean
Ravenous animals act a little wild
And we do it like humans, kitty-style
Fighting and fucking and hunting and sleeping
And breeding and eating and killing and that's
What we do when we're kitties next morning we're human
We laughed and we cried it was better than Cats

And we're cats so we're sleeky sneaking in through the fog
And we all have a little pink butt
So now tell me what you think of that - What?
Playing with our own cats as cats
That's a fact, together in packs we can track rats
We can play real mean chase each other up a screen
Or a tree or play sweet and even lick each other clean
Ravenous animals act a little wild
And we do it like humans, kitty-style
Fighting and fucking and hunting and sleeping
And breeding and eating and killing and that's
What we do when we're kitties next morning we're human
We laughed and we cried it was better than Cats

Damn i have not posted in a while
10 years agofirst and foremost My arm still has not healed and earlier this winter i pulled everything in it again and what i am guessing is nerve damage from the Simvastin and Lisinopril medications makes it hard for me to get my hands to do what i want them to do. i drop pens and pencils. my arm tires out after ten minutes of trying. My eye sight is a little worse but i can still use my normal reading glasses and i still see well but after wearing my glasses now for a little while it feels like i have been crying for hours.
also nothing i needed to get done outside or in got done before the cold came and put the severe cripple hold on me. so many people including the ones that care about me understand what it is like to be in crippling pain all the time. or that especially in winter moving is like i am trying to move through tar. so many people act like because i am not in a wheel chair yet or some such shit i should be ok cause i LOOK fine.
which is one of the problems i am going to face in a week. due to incredible shitty shit shit i will have to go to court to i guess prove i am not some drug dealer cause a friend of mine was taking some of my old meds to the local hospital for me to be destroyed. crazy shit happened and now they think i was trying to sell it. because it was in a baggy and not the nigh impossible for me to open pill bottle it came in. even though i still had the bottles and they have seen them.
I keep getting told that there is nothing to worry about. hell i even pulled out my old tarot cards and gave them a spin and the reading told me to quit hitting myself but i have been through so much crap for so long i am filled with paranoia and fear and nasty twisting in my stomach. hell i have not even had my proper diabetic meds in a fucking year. trying to make due with proper diet and supplements and high fiber everything (cause i enjoy shitting out a wicker swing set) As it is i was finally going to be able to get back to my doctor hopefully but then this shit came up and i have to make sure i am around to go to court. so i have to wait til this shit is done cause i know after this much time my Doctor is going to nail me in a Hospital bed for a while or send me to a million and a half places for this and that (which due to lack of rides anywhere and winter and a broken garage door keeping my mobility scooter grounded means i will probably not get to shit)
yeah just fuck
at least on satruday i got to be around people for a birthday dinner which is good it happened then cause today my real birthday is SNOW COVERED. I was going to try to get to the library to get some forms printed out i need to fill out but I think i am going to skip that at the moment. it is hard enough for me to walk with no obstructions. and walk9ing that far on a nice day is like having a thousand daggers in my legs. walking in this shit... nope nope nope.

Rest in peace beautiful soul. <3
Thanks for everything. You were a good, fascinating, eccentric and a treat to be around; even shitty moods.
Rest in peace.
With love,
~Denny
