This is a mid-year review of how the sites Furbitron monitors are projected to fare for all of 2025, and how that compares to 2024.
tl;dr:
For 2025, only e621 and Furbooru are projected to have year-on-year growth, compared to 2024. All of the other sites Furbitron monitors are projected to have year-on-year declines between about 0.1% and 24%.
Furbooru submission ID 500,000 will probably happen in early November.
e621 submission ID 6,000,000 will probably happen in late November.

SoFurry had an outage from about January 10th to January 26th. The SoFurry admins stated that this was due to a hardware failure.
FurAffinity had an outage from about April 28th to May 8th. The FurAffinity admins stated that this was due to problems encountered when trying to expand the disk space available on their data storage server.
There are more details about these two outages below.
Furbitron added daily monitoring of Furbooru in mid-April, on request from a Furbitron user. Since Furbooru provides a database dump, Furbitron was able to use that dump to get historical data from Furbooru's startup in 2020 all the way to 2025.
Buzzly is projected to have about 9,560 submission IDs in 2025. This would be 15% lower than the 11,200 submission IDs in 2024.
Buzzly launched in late 2021, and experienced fast growth through early 2022. However, the post rate at Buzzly dropped off a lot in mid-March 2022.
From mid-2024 to mid-2025, Buzzly is averaging about 27 new posts a day.
FurAffinity is projected to have about 4,140,000 submissions in 2025. This would be 5.1% lower than the 4,360,000 submissions in 2024, and would mark the fifth year ever where FA would not have year-on-year growth.
As noted above, FurAffinity had an outage from about April 28th to May 8th. This can be seen as a flat section near the beginning of May on the past-year graph, and as a flat section in the white line near day 120 on the year-on-year graph.
If this outage had not happened, Furbitron estimates that FurAffinity would have about 4,270,000 submissions in 2025, which would be 2.1% lower than 2024. This estimate was made by projecting data from January 1st to April 28th to the end of 2025.
From mid-2024 to mid-2025, FA is averaging about 11,500 new posts a day.
Furbooru is projected to have about 114,000 submission IDs in 2025. This would be 9.9% higher than the 104,000 submission IDs in 2024.
Furbooru submission ID 500,000 will probably happen in early November.

Itaku is projected to have about 232,000 submission IDs in 2025. This would be 23% lower than the 301,000 submission IDs in 2024.
Itaku launched in late 2020, and Furbitron started monitoring it in August 2024. In 2021, 2022, and 2023, there were noticeable bumps in the post rate at Itaku during the year, possibly due to more people discovering the site. The post rate in 2025 has not had a similar bump so far.
From mid-2024 to mid-2025, Itaku is averaging about 730 new posts a day.
SoFurry is projected to have about 102,000 submission IDs in 2025. This would be 20% lower than the 127,000 submissions in 2024.
As noted above, SoFurry had an outage from about January 10th to January 26th. This can be seen as a flat section in January on the past-year graph, and as a flat section in the white line before day 30 on the year-on-year graph.

e621 is projected to have about 808,000 submission IDs in 2025. This is 4.7% higher than the 772,000 submission IDs in 2024, and would continue e621's history of year-on-year submission ID growth since 2009.
e621 submission ID 6,000,000 will probably happen in late November.
From mid-2024 to mid-2025, e621 is averaging about 2,160 new posts a day.
e6AI is projected to have about 62,000 submission IDs in 2025. This is 0.13% lower than the 62,080 submission IDs in 2024.
From mid-2024 to mid-2025, e6AI is averaging about 185 new posts a day.
e6AI specializes in AI-generated images. It is operated by the same people as e621, and uses the same software as e621.
Furbitron collects data and computes the statistics for e6AI daily, but does not display the graphs for e6AI.
The year-end projections are are linear extrapolations to 2025-12-31, based on data from 2025-01-01 to 2025-06-30. The posts-per-day numbers are from Furbitron's regular daily statistics on 2025-07-02.
The submission ID counts in this post have been rounded off. They should be within about 1% of the un-rounded counts.
The owners of the various sites can directly query their site's database, so they may publish slightly different numbers than are found here.

The historical data was mostly gathered from the sites in September 2021. e621 and Furbooru both provide a dump of their site database, so the historical data for e621 came from that dump in September 2021, and the historical data for Furbooru came from that dump in April 2025.
Since then, Furbitron has done "live" monitoring of each site, once a day.
