So…

I have a bit of a problem with procrastination. Even with just posting this journal addressing my procrastination.

If you’ve been following me, you might be aware that the last fic i completed (Entangled) took nearly 4 years to complete. Mainly because a lot of stuff just happened in my life, but still partially because again, I have a bit of issue with procrastination.

I really don’t want that to happen again.

I tried coming up with a bunch of story ideas.

But I’m worried I’m repeating myself.

I think my issue is that I don’t exactly plan ahead, and try writing them on the fly. But while I got a lot of ideas in my head, putting them into words without coming off as clunky is pretty hard. Also I have a habit of making up imaginary datelines that only serve to make me more nervous.

I needed to do something different.

So I’m trying to be more organized, and decided to lay out my plans more carefully. My current writing status on each on my fics are:

Underneath Electric Stars: An original, extremely experimental seven-part story set in the week leading up to Halloween, following two anti-social people walking about and around a city for very different reasons. Won’t say much, but there’s some pretty adult stuff in it.
Status: Currently being worked on. I originally planned to have the whole thing out by Halloween (2 days ago), but that clearly didn’t happen. But just because it’s after Halloween doesn’t mean you can’t put out a Halloween story. Just ask Hocus Pocus and the US release of several Geronimo Stilton books. First part is about 30% done and I plan to have that out soon; the rest will come out when they’re ready.

Interventions: A fic involving Tangle and Whisper (specifically set after IDW Sonic issue 44) and another creator’s characters (won’t say who yet). A more mature fic with some more serious subject matter with some mild sexual stuff (and also some hypno).
Status: I put out a preview a while back. Most likely to come out after UES is completed.

Enemy Within: A fic involving Tangle and Whisper (again), but this time involving an original character of mine I’ve been trying to work on who just so happens to be an evil hypnotist named Somni. Not as sexual as the last two, but there’s a lot of creative stuff involving hypnosis and body possession.
Status: Very much still in planning. Most of it had to do is figuring out where to put it in the Sonic timeline, and with the glacial pace IDW is going at, well…

Strange Melody: A fic that’s basically an origin for a Sonic OC I’ve actually had for a while now, Piper (who you might be familiar with if you follow my twitter) another hypno-themed OC who’s on the side of good
Status: Same deal as Enemy Within.

And those are my current plans. If anyone has any writing advice for me that could possibly help me, that would be very much appreciated.
