Does anyone use Gimp?

I had to install it to open a file sent to me by a client, (it's not his fault, the artist who drew the line work sent him a file he couldn't open because he's not an artist and doesn't use art software) and it looks like the most worthless piece of shit. I've been figuring out how to use it, but I'm thinking about cutting and running, exporting to a .png and starting the new work in Sai.

Is there ANY reason to keep Gimp? I already have Sai, Adobe PS/I CS3, and a few others, is Gimp capable of anything they are not?
