For starters, just to get it out of the way in no uncertain terms, I DO NOT CONSENT to having my art, content, characters, and concepts used for the creation or generation of AI Chatbots, AI Art Lora/Models, or being fed into any other Generative AI Content Machines.

I guess I thought this was kind of a given and I didn't need to say it. Or I thought that I was such an invisible non-popular artist that I would never really have to worry about it. But that was clearly my mistake, so let's just go over it again now-- I DO NOT CONSENT to having my art, content, characters, and concepts used for the creation or generation of AI Chatbots, AI Art Lora/Models, or being fed into any other Generative AI Content Machines. Period. Full stop. Don't do it.


And that's really the entire journal, so you can stop reading now if that's all you needed to hear and know. If you want to hear me rant for a while longer, then by all means, continue....

So let me be clear... I'm not adamantly against the concept of AI... it surely has it's uses, it is "a tool" and in time, more reasonable people will probably sort out less costly and more consumer and artist friendly means of utilizing it for a common good. But that isn't today. Today is the age of fucking techbro grifters stealing everyone's content to get rich quick off of a passing fad before all the lawsuits start to hit. An unsustainable bubble that is hurting our environment NOW and will ruin our economy in the relatively near future-- all the signs are already there-- it is only a matter of time.

Also, to not be accused of hating something I haven't even tried-- yeah, I've played with AI art generation and AI chatbots. They are neat, I guess? But they are also incredibly stupid. They have abysmal memory, they don't understand things, they make shit up. They are an amusing, but presently Failed experiment. They can be fun for a while... but are ultimately empty and hollow. Art generated by AI can't really be used as proper references, because it doesn't follow rules of anatomy. AI chatbots cannot actually portray the characters they are meant to be portraying because they lack the insight and memory to actually behave in the manner of the character you're pretending to interact with. And this is all before getting into the abysmal sinkhole of having to stare at the strange uncanny replicas of a machine pretending to be your dead best friend's character... that you have no power to have removed from the uncaring grifter controlled hellscape.


I have no desire to be a part of any of this. I do not want my "intellectual property" to be tossed into some grifter's scam engine to churn out a quick buck for someone else. I barely make any money off my work as it is-- the very idea of someone else making money off of something I did without my permission is infuriating. I have calmly not said anything publicity about it until now, because I never thought I'd be interesting or popular enough of a creator to have to worry about it. But I was wrong-- not two days after posting my last major commission, something I really enjoyed getting to do since it was mostly just drawing my own character being awesome... and now I have to deal with this sour taste in my mouth that someone would make an ai chatbot out of it... and like-- having to read so many details in the description that are just Wrong. How they didn't use the character's actual name... they didn't credit me for the images... like-- it feels bad. I'm trying not to be angry, because I'm sure it was done in some misguided attempt to show appreciation and create a sort of "fan work" that they could play with and enjoy based on my work, but like-- No. This is not how you do that.

I like getting fan art or fan stories of my characters... it's rare, especially nowadays, but I mean-- it does happen? And I appreciate that. I've never really told anyone (that I can remember) not to draw my characters. But like... nothing like that made with AI is something that I can respect or condone. I don't want to see it, I don't want it to happen. It's gross. I feel dirty. I had to go through an entire day at work after being woken up to this news, just-- in a depressed, miserable fury, because someone took my baby and mutilated her into something else. Never again. I am making myself clear, now. Do not fucking do this shit. Ever. Again.

If you've already done it-- I'm not going to be mad at you. I never said anything. You didn't know. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. But take it down. Take it all down. Thank you. I'm happy to talk to anyone about it-- I'd like to think I am being reasonable. But going forward, having made this announcement, I will not be so kind in the future. This hurt me. I'm not going to be receptive to it again.
