I know I have not been surfing FA for a while, though it’s always nice to see some of the awesome work I come across when I do.

I’ve been quite busy.

So some know, and some of you don’t, but I’ve been helping to take care of a 90-year-old mother, namely mine. In addition, I work full-time and I’m also trying to take care of her house. All three are a challenge at times but it’s her house that is the biggest pain in the ass!!

A few years ago when she was far healthier, mom bought this house and didn’t realize just how much of a headache this place would be when she bought it. Mom has always been an impulse buyer and this house was no exception.

And trying to keep it up, I have found electrical issues, dry rot issues, have had 2/3 of the fencing shared between her and the neighbors replaced at my expense along with repairing the HVAC: there have also been tree removals to prevent the foundation from being destroyed, again at my expense. There’s just an awful lot that needs to be done to at least maintain the house and it’s becoming slowly overwhelming for me.

And sad to say I’m a grey muscle. I’m 65 years old now and in the last 12 months I have suffered from sciatica, issues with my high arches, slowly developing cataracts, and just general exhaustion at times. And yet I keep moving.!

So if I haven’t posted comments, or in one respect, responded to wonderful birthday cards that I’ve gotten from people (Soba I did get your card and it was wonderful!!!!❤️) it’s all because of the aforementioned activities.

My biggest goal now is to enjoy FC when it comes in January. Yes I actually have a room at the Marriott and yes, I will be there enjoying everything; well everything within reason. I don’t know if I’m going to even bother with the art show entries since I haven’t really produced anything in the last couple of months. But if you’re there and you wanna say hi, I will be there.
