Much Ado About Mutton!

Never heard of Blackie the Lamb? You're not alone. Blackie appeared in only four cartoon shorts in the 1940s and sadly never got his own show. Dumber characters like Bugs Bunny, on the other hand, his stardom.

Watching these cartoons today is really something else. Consider the fact that these were made in the days before computers and fancy technology! There's some stuff here you'd never see in cartoons today: smoking, risque cross-dressing, etc. They are just very entertaining.

So yeah, I have a HUGE soft spot for this lamb, and I'd like to do what I can to raise him out of ~70 years of obscurity. For your amusement, I've compiled them all here for you to enjoy. My personal favorite is "Much Ado About Mutton."

PS. I wish they'd kept his original trademark gag, with the rolling dice, but you can see them tinker a bit with the character in each episode. His catch phrase was always "Are YOU kiddin!"
