I carved and painted this about two years ago, and they became fairly popular. I haven't done one in a while, and since I can't make it to my scroll saw until this weekend I figured I'd remake it. Yup, I've definitely gotten better.

Me too! It was very tedious but so darn worth it. My next step is carving fur detail like that.

Not quite open for anything right now. I have to prep for the Ren fair which will involve a lot of carving.

I would sure say, there is defiantly a lot of detail in both pieces but this one is defiantly more refined really with the fur and the background and naturally the colors used really look nice so really nice job, I am impressed!

Thank you! The older piece was the first time I had ever tried to paint details, and I've gotten a lot better at it since then!

Yah. The stream cut out by towards the end so I finished it out of stream anyway.

Of course! the other one was the first time I had ever tried painting details. There wasn't much to improve on the carving, but I definitely did better on the ear.
