Since its apparently a concept in progress and you asked for thoughts I shall pass judgement! >:D I'm feeling like giving some constructive criticism tonight anyway.
Hes really freakin cute, though I personally think the armor on the abdomen...takes away from the design more than it adds to it.
I took a fashion design class, and one of the things that was brought up and I have found to be true when working with costume design, is to always work in an odd number of colors. Right now, his clothing has four colors, black, white, brown, and then the armor plates grey.
the brown is incredibly well balanced throughout his design, by placing them heavily and lightly around different parts of the body, and the symmetry works well. The black and white balance each other, and you made a good choice in putting the white buttons on the black blazer, which ties them together.
A specific suggestion I would make, if you really want to keep that armor plate without tossing anything, is to incorporate other pieces of metal into into his design. Giving some sort of small shoulder-plates, or metal buckles amongst the other articles of clothing, ever earrings. You're other three colors are beautifully balanced throughout his design, in my opinion I just think the metal should appear around his design a lil more as well ^^

mmmmm I dont know. The metal is a cool idea because it gives some diversity to the fabric that is everywhere else. Kinda gives that "soft and warm" feeling of fabric something to clash with.
And see...I try to imagine the belly area with something other than the armor and it doesnt really work...it looks like it belongs there and fits the character...just needs...balance
You could always play with a belly warmer to see, you're an artist dude, you can redraw him however you want to see how it looks x3
