Here's my image for the Werewolf Calendar!
Check out our nifty website at http://www.werewolfcalendar.com to get cool bonus stuff like phone wallpapers and check out our art for 2014! Also, to order a calendar ;). Seriously though, thank you for your support for the calendar over the years...not that we need an excuse to paint werewolves, but to bring it together into a cohesive idea with new awesome art year after year is something we couldn't do without all the werewolf lovin'!
My caption: While rogue werewolves have remained a problem throughout the ages, many resisting rehabilitation, counter measures have been taken to prevent the dangerous rogues from remaining near human society. Rogue hunters, carefully trained in tracking and hunting these dangerous outlaws, pursue and if necessary destroy any reported rogues. In order to prevent human sighting, if at all possible, rogue hunters will lure the subject away from human populated regions. Nonetheless cases where immediate intervention was called for have been documented in which the hunter was required to confront dangerous rogues in cities to prevent imminent human death.

I have a feeling she knows very well he's back there* and he's about to get the surprise of his big hairy life.
*Judging by the lighting, his silhouette should be quite visibly reflected in the phone screen, for one thing. He's bound to be disrupting the reflection of the streetlight shining down from above.

OH goodness me I LOVE the lighting on this one! And so very creepy! I also love that the caption for this makes the image...kinda able to be taken in one of two ways. Either this werewolf is the rogue, or the one hunting a rogue while in human form, which could very possibly be the chick with the earbuds. ;)
YES, finally a werewolf calendar entry that hints at some interaction with humans and dare I say it; shapeshifting...So basically real werewolves. Adore the lighting in this. The werewolf juxtaposed with the woman and the lighting really gives it a sense of presence. This would make an excellent book cover, too.
Not enough for me, I guess. ^^; I much prefer the images you've done for the werewolf calendar over some of the other artists. Not for fault of their talent or skill, but just because I like how you present them - still monstrous or at least dangerous and a little less anthro-y or faux-Native American. Which is just what I prefer, mind you. I still use your 2012 image as my netbook wallpaper. X3
Also, can't seem to find the transformation image you mentioned. I'm looking on the site now. Do you remember what year it was for by chance?

I love this! You've done a masterful job in the rendering and composition of this piece. From the subtle twist of the frame that builds immediate tension to the close quarters juxtaposition of the characters, you have built a dramatic image with instant impact and gravity. And your lighting! Brilliantly rendered fall off and reflection, this is amazing. I ordered the calendar this year for this image alone. I just love that you caught the light of the phone in the tapetum lucidum. It's perfect.
